...Anybody have a sit down experience this summer? gold dust tour shows when stevie first came on for her aug 6 show in vegas...the majority of the crowd appeared listless...in fact there wasnt much movement in my area (other than me) for approx 4 songs. i was going to ask in a thread once how people feel about this...i for one become embarrassed...particularly when im in love with the performer...i want to show the love...
my gawd peoples this is stevie nicks!
sometimes it makes me sad/mad/hurt all at the same time because i want the performer to know how much we love thier music...and when a crowd just sits there it bums me out, and i have to wonder how it makes those on stage feel...sometimes i feel like a nut sometimes i dont...but i always dance to frenzy so they know hey somebody out there loves what we do!

Yeah I noticed there wasn't that much movement at all in Vegas. Me and my friend had 5th row center and we were up dancing the entire show from the moment bootylicious came on. We even got down to the front for the Edge walk. I hate when ppl just sit there, I mean hello this is Stevie Nicks I'm like freaking out haha. I mean how can you sit down during Rhiannon, Stand Back, Fall From Grace?? I just don't understand. I kind of liked being the only ppl standing in my section. Because we were right in front of Stevie and so she would like point to us and smile and stuff. I think it makes her happy to see young ppl dancing around in the audience.

Some ladies behind us told us to sit down and we were like um no you stand up, and they were like "we paid good money for these seats!" And we are like "Um so did we!!!" I'm sorry no one is guna make me sit down when Stevie Nicks is like right in front of me. Sorry.

I realize that alot of the ppl that go are older and maybe they are out of that stage where you stand up the whole show and dance around. But I mean I'm sorry I haven't gotten to see Stevie all those years so this is my time to enjoy it. I mean how many more times do I left to see her? Not many. :distress:

I love Stevie Nicks and I'm gonna show it!:blob2:

The Mansfield crowd was great this summer. The guards told us we could rush the stage for Edge of 17....we got impatient and went during SB. :)

I had to tell a few people in Vegas the same thing- sorry, but I'm standing! I was 2nd row one show and 12th the next. A friend of mine who lives in Vegas got COMPED front row center seats (with a frickin' phone call her loser boyfriend made), and was totally shocked to see me suddenly up there in front of her during "Edge". I forgot to warn her about that before the show, so when she saw me she was like, "WHAT THE F*UCK IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW?!" I quickly explained, and she was bugged. She likes Stevie, but not like WE do. She was clearly annoyed and I told her she'd just have to deal with it until the end of the show. I even told her I'd help her shake Stevie's hand during Edge, but she declined and stayed back with her boyfriend instead.

Don't even THINK of sitting behind me at a Stevie concert unless you plan to boogie all night long as well!!!

The worst experience I ever had at a Stevie concert was at the Pittsburgh Street Angel show. The audience was pretty much devided when it came to standing or not. There were whole sections up and dancing and other sections of people just sitting there. I was right on the edge of these two sections. There were enough people standing in front of me so that they were blocking half of my view, so I stood (which is what I really wanted to do anyway) and this guy behind me starts yelling at me to sit down. I looked back and gestured that I was sorry but I couldn't see unless I stood and just left it at that. Next thing I know this jerk is throwin' stuff at me. It started out with scrunched up napkin balls, then he threw a half-eaten hotdog!!! It was really hard to not let him ruin my time but I still managed to enjoy the show. And the girls I went with were casual fans and in between every single song they would say "I hope she's going to do Gypsy". And as each song started they'd go "is this Gypsy? This doesn't sound like Gypsy, I'm gonna be mad if she doesn't do Gypsy". It finally got to me and I said, "She rarely does Gypsy in her solo shows anymore, and if you ask me one more time I'm going to get really angry". LOL! I can laugh about it now, but they were really driving me crazy. And to top off the horrible evening, the guy who was throwing stuff at me spit on me as we were leaving. I didn't even realize it but my friend told me and I took off my jacket and found the nasty little "present" all over the back. It was really nasty. I just couldn't believe it.

Luckily I've seen many other Stevie shows over the years and had many good experiences so I didn't let that one get to me. :)

I"m SO with you....we were sitting next to some very drunk sorority-types, but we all had a ball singing everything!

Shows in Las Vegas are usually filled with puds, especially in arenas like the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. Most of the audience will consist of bony old blue hairs or "high-rollers". At one of the shows I went to in May, Paul Stanley from Kiss was right behind me and he acted like an 80-year old woman. Telling people to sit down during Stand Back? Pffft.

I know. The security people and the staff in the venue were knocked out that there was a relatively active crowd. I have to say they were great. I cut my finger as La Nicks walked onto the stage the last night. I was like, I am going to bleed all over my new shirt and raced up the aisle. They were so accomodating and just nice. She even walked up to me later when I was getting a cocktail and asked me if I was okay and checked the finger out and gave me some extra bandages, which I thought was way sweet of her.

I went to the Vegas shows on May 11 and 13. The one on the 11th, I had my digital camera stolen by some biotches who wanted us to sit down. Now mind you this was my present, my REWARD, for the long hard road of graduating from college and I was seeing Stevie solo for the first time.

The security guard came and told us that these women were complaining about us and I told him that this was a rock concert and I want to complain that they are ruining my Stevie experience!! I had taken a couple pics at the beginning but slid it under my chair up towards the front, along side my purse so I could rock out.

When the concert was over, my purse was there and the camera was gone. I had ushers searching the auditorium in the Colliseum to make sure I didn't kick it. They actually stole it because I wouldn't sit down!!! The freaks didn't even stand for Rhiannon or Standback.

Thank God I had a great experience the second night and made it down for the Edge walk.

I went to the last 2 Dreams shows in Vegas back in May. Spent 90% of both sitting down thanks to the losers all around me... :(

You'd really think "Sin City" would draw a more lively crowd...

After his little antics a Stevie's show, my vote goes to Paul Stanley. I honestly think he was pissed off because nobody asked for his autograph. And his wife? Was just over-the-top fake looking. Even for Vegas standards.

 I just walked up to him and was like "You like Stevie? That's awesome!!!" and shook his hand and walked away, lol.

I think they need to start setting aside a couple of sections (not in the front) that are explictly for people who want to sit down during the concert. Then the rest should be for people who want to stand and dance and those who can deal with it.

The reality is that there are a lot of people that either can't stand or don't want to stand for an entire show. My parents are a good example. They don't have health problems, but they are simply not interested in shaking their thing at a rock concert for 2 hours. But they would love to go to shows because they still enjoy the music. That's really not unreasonable.

So why not create a place for those people. Everyone wins--they are guaranteed that they'll be able to see if they sit down and the dancing folk don't get hassled.

miss the days of no assigned seating...
if you were in front you were standing....
jeff beck...blue oyster cult...ozzy...
scorpians...pfloyd...etc [sniff]

even since my jade bracelet was stolen by the seaties behind me at FM (it came off when i was dancing and some woman helped herself), if there are seaters around me...i dance in my seat...if some are standing around me then i def stand...i try my best to "be" whatever suits the area...but if i am seated...im on the edge of it...bouncing...and on my tippy tippy toes with arms held high...
it works semi-well but im never as happy as i would be if standing :wavey:
