View Full Version : What are your favorite things?

There are certain things I collect and look out for. Always on my list are mermaids (long story), Tinkerbell (pixie with attitude), the number 3 (my favorite number since I was little), triangles (imagine that), crescent moons (imagine that, again) and anything with a fleur-de-lis on it. These are kind of what I collect and love. Each has a special meaning to me. (These are aside from my hunts for Gucci and Prada anything.) I have necklaces, keychains, etc...what do you have an affinity for?

I don't know, but I'll tell you one thing, my not favorite person is anybody who responds to this thread with a Sound of Music reference. Don't make me take off my belt, people.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Other than FM stuff....I'd say Frogs. they are starting to invade the house. My husband hates them. It all started with a frog tattoo I got just above my...er...rear end  6 years ago. I collected a few after that, and now they're everywhere. If anyone gets wind that you are collecting ANYTHING in this family....you're whole house gets transformed:laugh:

There are certain things I collect and look out for... the number 3...
I have bought about 3 (heh) different shirts, at different times, with the number 3 on them. I just noticed this recently. It's a weird deal. Apparently, that's one of my fave numbers too. LOL There are 3 people in my family....me, my mom and dad.
I collect keychains. Last count, there were over 350 in my collection. Anything with castles on it, I love. :)

Oh, btw, butterflies. I have something with butterflies. It's a long, long story, and it has to do with my name, and recently it took on an even more personal association, but I won't bore you with that.
Whenever I see some piece of jewelry that has some form of butterfly designed into it, I have to buy it. It's almost obsessive compulsive.
I also have two butterfly tattoos.

Lemme see...
I used to collect Fleetwood Mac memoribilia, but I'm burning out (and along with that, I used to collect penguins - plush, figurines, etc.)
I used to collect Charming Tails figurines, but now I only buy the Christmas ornaments because I don't have space anymore.
I used to collect critters, but now I have neither the space nor the time, though I still have 2 cats, 4 hermit crabs, 4 bettas, a rat and a toad.
So lately I've just been collecting Walter Egan memoribilia (surprise, surprise), Billy Burnette albums, and movies. Lots of movies.
Oh yeah... and then there's the handcuff thing. I own two pairs of actual Police quality cuffs, two pairs of fake cuffs (as in they have safety releases), and recently acquired a pair of police quality leg cuffs. I also have a keychain with mini-cuffs, a pair of similar earrings, and three bracelets made up of mini-cuffs. :o
So that's about it for my fav things right now.

Letting my dog run free, terrorizing the neighbourhood.
Turning all the lights out and pretending no one's home.
Playing strip poker or caps.
Road trips alone.

A few of my favourite things:
When hubby's out of town.
When kid's are away.
My artificial christmas tree (pre-lit).
Store bought cookies.
Free loading as many meals as I can from family.
Surprising family & friends and telling them I don't want to exchange gifts this year.
Trying to avoid my family as much as possible.
Chauffeuring my drunk father around during the hoildays.
Letting my dog run free, terrorizing the neighbourhood.
Turning all the lights out and pretending no one's home.
Playing strip poker or caps.
Road trips alone.Very interesting choices.

Letting my dog run free, terrorizing the neighbourhood.
That reminded me of one of my favorite things - calling animal control on any dogs running free in my neighborhood before they maul mine or someone else's cat. :)

No metal??? "Denied...Choked in the open net"
In my defence, I did put music. Metal is the dominate force under that category. ;)

 Oh yea, I forgot to mention biker parties and wife swapping ;)
Take another look at "your" favourite things. Is there a similarity? I was joking, although the first two are true. When you've been married as long as I have and have teenage children, you'll understand
