Sara, I hope I'm not stepping on your thread here, so if I am, my apologies. Anyhoo, here's the Colts and their remaining schedule, along with my "Expert" analysis:

Home to Tennesee: cupcake, nuff said

At Jacksonville: no Leftwich for the Jags, so I see another win here

Home to San Diego: Tough one, but I see the Colts soming out on top here too.

At Seattle: Game of the year no doubt. Although if both teams have clinched homefield that could change the dynamic somewhat. This one's a tossup, but I'll go with the COlts in a squeaker

Final game, Home to Arizona: Dennis Green will be too worried about where he's gonna eat after the game to give a ****. Indy in a mega blowout. Incidentally, Hey Denny, thanks alot for FU**ING up the NFC title game against Atlanta in '99 and taking a knee at the end of regulation when you had the higest scoring offense in NFL history. No wonder we here in Minnesota call you De-knee!!!

I agree about your Seattle prediction. I'm worried about that one. I think we could go 16-0, though. They're good enough this year. They just need to clean up their penalties. And, they've already beat their 3 main competitors. So, why not?

Jacksonville is only one of two teams to keep the Colts under 24 points this season...and that was IN Indianapolis. I think Leftwich or no Leftwich, Jacksonville will end the Colts streak, being that the game is in Jacksonville...and start them on a 3-game slide. The Chargers will beat them, as will the hot & getting hotter Seahawks. Then the Colts tune up for the playoffs by blowing out the Cardinals.

Then if the seeding is right, the Broncos avenge their two prior playoff losses with a good spanking of the Colts on their march to the Lombardi Trophy.

Ahhh, but David, the Vikes lost the four randomly...the Bills lost FOUR IN A ROW!!!!!!!! Thank you, Scott Norwood (got the streak started by shanking a chip shot field goal vs the Giants)

All things being even: And, if it weren't for Elway's late-in-his-career back-to-back wins for my Broncos, they'd be 0-4 (or worse) as well.

I grew up an LA Rams fan (in fact, a few players & coaches lived in my neighborhood back when their training camp was in Long Beach)...when the "Evil Beyotch" moved the team, I was "teamless" until I landed upon Bronco-hood in the late 90's (mainly because of my wife being from Denver).

I'll forever hate Georgia Frontiere (nee Rosenbloom) for 1) offing her husband Carroll to get control of the team (ala Courtney & Kurt); 2) moving the team to St. Louis just as they were getting good again after the final 5 year debacle that the Rams had become with Jim ("don't call me Chrissie") Everett.

BTW as a Colts fan, I'd like to get your thoughts as to whether or not if they're 15-0 going into the last game against the hapless Cardinals, if they'll rest Manning and Harrison and James. My thought is this; They'll all play a few series, get a big lead and then rest them all. This is such a cupcake in my opinion, like Arizona's gonna care, that they will be able to do this. Plus, Peyton has is consecutive games srtak goiong too.

Sorry- I'm a little fiesty this morning. :D I don't like Domes though- it's not the same watching them play on carpet vs. real grass. IMO, if Green Bay can have an outdoor place, so can everyone else.
Retractable roofs are cool, but only if you leave them OPEN most of the games. Plus, the Colts really need to replace their carpet to make it look more like real stuff, as the Rams have.

When I was in High school I went to a game my senioor year against our bitter rival, and after my school kicked a field goal in the first quater the downpour started and never let up. Near the End of the game my team was backed up to like our 5 yeard line with about 10 seconds left in the game and we were still ahead 3-0. We had to Punt, and rahter than risk a fumble and possible turnover, the punter got the ball and ran around till there was about 3 seconds left then ran out of the end zone as time expired. Yeah- they are fighting and bickering here too in SD as the Chargers want (and need) a new stadium. At this point the Chargers are willing to pay for it, they just want the city to donate the land for it. (the land that the current stadium is now on) The Chargers also want to build restaurants, condos and apartments on this land, all for the city's benefit of being able to tax on it. Some people in the city think that somehow they will be screwed though. Paul Tagliabue said that if the Chargers can get a new stadium they would be on a regular rotation for Super Bowls, which brings lots of $$ to the city. We will probably know next year sometime if the Chargers plan to move, because they will if they can't get a deal done here. That would be a shame. :distress:

Well now that we have a new mayor maybe things will change. The last mayor basically bankrupted the city and would never have been able to get the deal agreed to by the rest of the city council or public. My problem with a new stadium was that when they expanded the stadium to 70,000 seats the Chargers were happy. That wasn't that long ago. Also, the land the Chargers want the city to donate isn't cheap land. Prices in Mission Valley are as high as anywhere in the city. I think the city is still soured on all the court fights it took and the 2 year delay to get the Padres Petco Park built downtown. Last time I checked Bruce Henderson (the ex councilman who filed all the lawsuits) is still around and will probably do the same thing with a new Charger Stadium.

Fellow San Diegan- cool!

But, really, what else would they do with that expensive (well, over-priced) land anyway? Build MORE ant-farm-style condos and apartments? Or perhaps a SUPER WALMART? :distress: God, I hope not. That area is clogged with enough of that crap anyway, and you KNOW that's what they'd do if a stadium wasn't there.
Yeah, they expanded Qualcomm, but it wasn't enough. I was fortunate enough to take a behind-the-scenes tyour of Qualcomm where the press people are, and that place is in shambles -wires hanging everywhere out of the ceiling, pipes sticking out of the walls, not to mention what I've heard about flooding not only in the stands, but down in the locker rooms.

I have this funny feeling that my Chargers WON'T be the first team to beat the Colts. I think the Jaguars will beat them this weekend, which is unfortunate beacuse if they do, the Colts will be taking it out on the Chargers the following week. (I still think my Chargers can beat them though, regardless.;) )

I'm NOT glad Peyton didn't hurt his ankle- we have to play you guys next week! :distress: The Chargers backs are against the wall regarding the playoffs because they lost to the friggin Dolphins sunday. That was clearly a loss due to over-confidence which is a real (stupid) problem in men's sports unfortunately. Hopefully they can beat the Colts (with all due respect to you Sara:) ) It's gonna be tough though.

I didn't get to watch any football Sunday.:distress: My kid had a skate party to go to, and I was in charge of getting several kids to and from. I got to listen to the last few minutes of the Chiefs/Cowboys game. Talk about an intense moment, 7 loud, hormonal teenagers and the last few minutes of that game. This one kid was routing for the Cowboys, so I pulled over and told him to get out of my vehicle. He thought I was serious..

But anywho, I'll admit, I let out an evil giggle when the hubby told me the Chargers also lost....whew..:o

The NFC is still weaker than the AFC no doubt, but its too bad that both Seattle and Indianapolis wont have much to play for when the meet the next to the last game of the season. Seattle is one of those teams that alot of people havent heard much about except for Shaun Alexander. BTW speaking of him, and this isnt meant to diss Ladanian Tomlinson, but everybody talks about LT like he's JIm Brown reincarnated, I think ALexander is every bit as good if not better.

We'll just have to wait until next year when Alexander is on some OTHER team (and probably in a bigger market than Seattle...like, say THE RAIDERS?), since he mostly likely won't re-sign with the S'Hawks.

OK, my super quick Peyton Manning encounter. Very friendly guy. I can tell he likes kids. He came out of what seemed like no where, and I was in the exact right spot. He tried to shake Sara's hand, but he's a big tall dude, and she was intimidated, so she burried her head in my belly. So, I shook his hand instead, and asked him how his ankle felt. (he tripped during Sunday's game:rolleyes: ) He kinda chuckled and told me he was fine. He shook a few other kids' hands and some parents, and the media was all over him. So, he did his interviews, went down the big slide with a few kids, went to see Santa with the kids, and that was the last I saw of him. He gave out shirts, hats, and wristbands. The pictures of the kids' with Santa were free, the carousel ride was free, and a pizza dinner was provided free. It was really great what he did for those kids'. Most were underpriveliged children; our group was grieving children, kids from Special Olympics were there. It really was a great time. I only took a few pics, but since Sara wouldn't shake his hand, I couldn't get a pic of them together, and I wasn't going to ask for mine to be taken with him.

OMG... they just found Tony Dungy's son dead....

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/football/nfl/12/22/dungy.son.ap/index.html?cnn=yes

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- James Dungy, the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, was found dead in a Tampa-area apartment, police said Thursday.

In a news release on its Web site, the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office said it "responded to the Campus Lodge Apartments this morning at approximately 1:32 a.m. The girlfriend of James Dungy had returned to the apartment and discovered Dungy."

Police performed CPR on Dungy before he was taken to University Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office.

Tony Dungy has left the Colts and is in Tampa, according to NFL.com.

The coach and his wife, Lauren, have four other children: daughters Tiara and Jade and sons Eric and Jordan.

The Colts (13-1) are at Seattle on Saturday.

Fans posted prayers and messages of support for Dungy, who also coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on a message board on a Colts fan Web site.

"Not only was he a great football coach for the Bucs, but he is an even better person," one Tampa Bay fan wrote. "It makes me sick that it happened at this time of year to a person that is so giving and caring."

Another person wrote for God to give strength to Dungy during this difficult time.

"When things like this happen it adjusts our perspective on life," one person wrote. "What was considered major yesterday doesn't amount to more than a footnote today."

Wow- that's heartbreaking. I'm praying for the Dungy family. What a loss.

OMG, what a shock. So sad, especially this time of year. :(

That is very very sad to hear about Tony Dung's son. What an awful thing to have happened and right before the holidays too.

On to other news, I really really hope that the Steelers can make the playoffs this year. It would be awful to think of playoff season without my team in it.
