Ew for both of them. Yeah, Gaius, go ahead, slaughter me :p
(But I did vote for Gabriel!)

Well, if I have to choose, I will go with Peter Gabriel, but both don't really do it for me...

I don't care for either one of them but I really can't stand Phil Collins.

Figures. IMO, Peter should've been against Kate Bush instead.

During his solo career Collins has never done anything as dark as "Intruder", anything as genuinely tear-inducing as "Family Snapshot", anything as beautifully grandiose as "Here Comes The Flood", anything as uplifting as "Come Talk To Me" or anything as playful as "Steam". Phil should've just stuck to drumming.

Sharon, we need a prog rock face-off! Yes vs. King Crimson vs. ELP vs. Jethro Tull vs. Genesis.

Peter Gabriel isn't played in an endless loop on our local bland adult-contemporary station. Therefore, I voted for him.

(Oh, and 80% of Peter Gabriel's solo discography doesn't consist entirely of soppy ballads or covers of soppy ballads.)

Phil Collins sucks. Peter Gabriel is a genius. One of the greatest shows I have ever seen was Peter's Up arena show. Just ****ing magnificent.

I actually like both for different reasons, but Phil won the coin toss...

One of my favorite songs EVER - and made even more glorious by the presence of Kate Bush  The bolded part moved me to tears the first time I heard it and can get me there to this day. Peter G. is a brilliant artist.

in this proud land we grew up strong
we were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail

no fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
I've changed my face, I've changed my name
but no one wants you when you lose

don't give up
'cos you have friends
don't give up
you're not beaten yet
don't give up
I know you can make it good

though I saw it all around
never thought I could be affected
thought that we'd be the last to go
it is so strange the way things turn

drove the night toward my home
the place that I was born, on the lakeside
as daylight broke, I saw the earth
the trees had burned down to the ground

don't give up
you still have us
don't give up
we don't need much of anything
don't give up
'cause somewhere there's a place
where we belong

rest your head
you worry too much
it's going to be alright
when times get rough
you can fall back on us
don't give up
please don't give up

'got to walk out of here
I can't take anymore
going to stand on that bridge
keep my eyes down below
whatever may come
and whatever may go
that river's flowing
that river's flowing

moved on to another town
tried hard to settle down
for every job, so many men
so many men no-one needs

don't give up
'cause you have friends
don't give up
you're not the only one
don't give up
no reason to be ashamed
don't give up
you still have us
don't give up now
we're proud of who you are
don't give up
you know it's never been easy
don't give up
'cause I believe there's the a place
there's a place where we belong

This was actually easy for me: Peter gabriel. I haven't voted on the last few, because I just couldn't decide. Phil Collins is a great drummer, and he did a good job of imitating Peter Gabriel's voice on the first couple of records after Gabriel left Genesis. Peter gabriel, though is a different kind of artist, I saw him on his Shick the Monkey tour, and it was sort of a religious experience. I haven't been paying attention to anything of his since the passion soundtrack, but I think everything before it has been amazing.

I voted for Peter Gabriel. I find Phil Collins to be quite bland.

impossible that I'd choose for Collins here. Gabriel's a genius, and he has always been.

For prog rock I want Focus or Brainbox in there too.

hhmmmm.....decisions, decisions.

O.k...so I KNOW more of Phil Collins' material. And I DO like most of it.

But the few songs of Peter's I know...I like more. SO I guess I'm going for quality here instead of quantity and I'll pick Peter G.

And was anybody who chose Phil being serious?
