Just read this on a Lindsay Lohan fan board (okay, maybe I should just forget this awful cover. Nah, no forgiveness! )
When Lindsay was at the American Music Awards, she sang some of her song and then she sang another song. The song went something like this:
"Just like the world we know, sing a song, sounds like she's singing-oooh baby ooh ooh!"
Does anyone know that song???? I always hear ot on the radio and I have no idea what its called!!! Thanx for everyone who answers back!

^ That's cute, considering the young age of Lindsay fans.

Which reminds me of a personal experience...(the year: 1978, I'm working my shift at Licorice Pizza Records & Tapes in Huntington Beach, California)
A kid is looking through the record racks next to her mom when she turns and says...
"...Look, Mom, Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings!

Did you respond and let them know? Or did someone else? That girl's practically screaming, "Somebody open my eyes and turn me into a Stevie fan!"

It's not far from what I thought the lyrics were until I read them. Except I thought it was "just like the one we know".

I thought it was the one winged dove when I was young. As I got older, I realized a dove with one wing would not fly well. :o
I used to work with teenagers with mental issues & I was driving a 12 year old girl to a doctor's appointment about 5 years ago. I was flipping the stations & Madonna "Lucky Star" was on. She said "You can leave that one on. I like Madonna. I like the oldies."

Hmmm...I actually like "just like the world we know" better than the real words. From now on, I'm going to play/sing it that way.

A kid is looking through the record racks next to her mom when she turns and says...
"...Look, Mom, Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings!Ok, THAT is a funny coincidence, because when I was about 17, I was in a record store and two girls were browsing through the CDs a few feet away from me. Girl #1 said, "what band did Paul McCartney used to be in?" Of course, I'm standing there minding my own business, but fully expecting to hear "The Beatles," when Girl #2 says, "I think he was in Wings."

In regards to the Paul McCartney thing, my piano teacher told me the same exact thing happened to him. Weirdness...
More weirdness, If you type in the "lyrics" from the song from the first post into google, it links back to the ledge, but for an unrelated thread...

Did anybody else read the title of this thread as "I think I just busted a nut!" or was that intentional?

I get that all the time. My friends tell me I like the oldies and I correct them and say "No, I like CLASSIC ROCK."
I'm used to it by now.

Ugh, I hate when people do that. I'll go on about Bob Dylan and The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac. And then the kid i'm talking to will be all "Man. I grew up on the Classics. I LOVE Duran Duran." And then I walk away disgusted...

Okay, y'all are gonna think I'm nuts but I was in junoir high when Edge came out and I swear I used to think she was singing "Just like a one window".
Yeah, it didn't make sense to me either. Although being the budding writer I was, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why she was using "a" and "one" in the same line because they would both be referring to the same window and would therefore be redundant.

I'm only 18, but I know good music when I hear it and I DO NOT think of FM as oldies. lol. I, too, think of doo-wop kind of stuff and like classic country. FM is still just rock to me.

Oldies is to Classic Rock what "Oriental" is to Asians. They mean the same thing, but the first name offends the people who go by the second one.

Haha. I like it!
I think some folks forget that most of the "classic rock" they love so much is far older now than the music of the 50s and early 60s was when it was first designated "oldies."
