It would be rendered completely unrecognizable and would sound horrific with that gravelly voice trying to coo anything in French. I'm straight, thanks.

That, plus it's pretty much the same set as 2005.

At least it's realistic?

agreed. however, in reviewing my itunes library, here are the few blondie songs off the top of my head that i DO think she could pull off with her current voice:
Angels on the Balcony (t'would be weird with stevie singing.. but, that's probably going to be true for all of these and hey, it's a weird song! )
Desire Brings Me Back (she'd have to work on that falsetto)
Double Take
Europa
Goldenrod.. maybe?
Little Caesar... ahh man, I gotta stop this.
No Exit... but only if Don Henley does Coolio's part on tour.
Out in the Streets might be a cool b-side (if such things still exist) or something like that.. maybe not though. that song hinges on production.
Rules for Living
The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game (lower, of course... it's kind of a tamer version of Silver Springs )
i dunno... i don't really guess i think they're all that compatible as personas, even if the voices aligned

9. Sisters of Avalon(Cyndi Lauper Cover)
If she is going to perform a song with Sisters in the title, let it be her own, please!!! :wavey:

*swoon* I think that's one of the best songs Jimmy ever wrote.

She'd have to work on that falsetto a LOT.
Double Take

Europa
 I would piss myself.
Goldenrod.. maybe?
Meh, she doesn't have the vocal stamina. Could be cool, though.
Little Caesar... ahh man, I gotta stop this.
Yes!! "My name is Little Caesar, friends call me L.C."
No Exit... but only if Don Henley does Coolio's part on tour.
You are brilliant.
Out in the Streets might be a cool b-side (if such things still exist) or something like that.. maybe not though. that song hinges on production.
Have you heard the demo? Great stuff. She might be able to do it justice.

I would weep. That's one of my all time favorite songs.
The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game (lower, of course... it's kind of a tamer version of Silver Springs )
Great choice. I could get behind that.

I don't either, though I think if she tried and didn't do it half-assed, Stevie could do one helluva version of Night Wind Sent. She'd have to work on that falsetto, though, or lower the key to the point where it's unrecognizable.

9. Sisters of Avalon(Cyndi Lauper Cover)
Funny you should include that one, since I was just recently thinking about the possible Stevie paralells in that song.
Like the title, for instance? Sisters of Avalon vs Sisters of the Moon.
The one line, and the distant drum rumbling underground/guides me on/through my wild heart
SOTM: She was dark at the top of the stairs
And she called to me
SOA: Felt someone calling me into the howling of the wind
I think I read somewhere that Stevie said that she wrote the song after she'd looked in the mirror, and noticed how she looked: frail, thin and sick.
SOA: I heard the reflection of a sound echoing through my skin
SOTM:Intense silence/As she walked in the room/Her black robes trailing
SOA: They brought her in in a new white dress/But the stain left an ache on her mother's breast/Now all that's left are the ghostly steps from a distant corridor
Obviously, the songs were written about different things (Cyndi said it was really just about being a woman. "What am I gonna write about, bein' a man?!"), but interesting nonetheless.

I don't get why people want Stevie to do covers when she has a mountain of excellent songs she wrote herself just waiting for her to blow the dust off?

*swoon* I think that's one of the best songs Jimmy ever wrote.
I love it, but beyond that it's very vocally low-key and almost-well, nasal. Not that I'm typecasting our girl Stevie or anything, but...
Have you heard the demo? Great stuff. She might be able to do it justice.
I have indeed heard the demo. It's not really a signature Debbie song, so it's possible, I think.
I would weep. That's one of my all time favorite songs.
I fear I will never get you to see the mediocrity of this song. :distress: "And if you think THAT'S wild, there's my dream of Egypt..." "The volcano wants a bribe... and I'm still afraid of fire." hmm, on second thought, this song might just be perfect for Stevie :D

I thought about including that one, but thinking of Stevie attempting the quick falsetto-legit changes made me cringe. If she could find a way to work around that, then perhaps.

It's kind of Stevie-ish, too. Ghosts, fires, angels, etc. Could definitely work.

I love it. Everything about it tickles my fancy; the vocal, the lyrics, the production, and the guitar is fantastic. I bought the DualDisc and the first time I put in my surround sound, I was blown away. There's no going back to the album version after that.

I fear she'd never find a way to work around that unless she attempted it in the studio and employed lots of studio trickery. Live? Forget it. It would be another Drone-A-Thon. I would have added Forgive and Forget to the list, but that just would have been cruel to Stevie. :o

Based on the desire for total mobility and the serious physical pursuit of religious freedom, the auto drove mankind further than the wheel and, in remote areas even today, is forbidden as a device too suspect for human conveyance. This articulate conception has only brought us all more of the same, thoughtlessly locked into phase two gridlock, keyed up, on it's rims and abandoned on the expressway.
Hahaha.... what a gloriously horrible signature you have! It inspired me to create one of my own. What do you think?

19. Call Me(Blondie Cover...sorry diss, I think it would work out well)
If anyone is up on their history, Georgio Moroder's FIRST CHOICE to do the song was Stevie, but she flatly turned it down...to Debbie Harry's (& Blondie's) gain.

Bull****. :wavey:
Stevie was offered the opportunity to do a song for "American Gigolo," but the song was not "Call Me." Moroder composed the synth track (originally titled "Monster Man") and produced it, the rest was written by Blondie. It would have been kind of impossible for Stevie to have been offered a song that hadn't been written yet.
