*spoilers*

I haven't really been watching this show much lately because it sucks, but I when I have, it's mainly to see Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman. So this is sad news.

http://entertainment.excite.com/celebgossip/enqallart/id/11_23_2005_1129863469.html

Marcia Cross is facing the axe from Desperate Housewives to give the critically battered television show a much-needed boost. Insiders also say that bosses want to kill off one of the five characters — and control freak Bree van de Kemp has been singled out as the most likely to be moving out of Wisteria Lane forever!

That would leave Nicollette Sheridan, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman to entertain viewers of ABC's Desperate Housewives.

We can reveal writers have been locked in secret talks about the shocking plan. Sources say Cross is the favorite to bow out in an episode during May sweeps, when top ratings will be crucial to guarantee the show's future.

"Ever since the show premiered, there's been talk that one of the key characters would be killed off," said a source close to the series.

"And ABC and show execs want a blockbuster plotline to woo bigger audiences and regain critical acclaim for the prime time hit. TV dramas like Dallas and Lost drew huge numbers when they hyped killing off a key cast member. As a result, after a recent meeting between writers and show execs, Marcia is being pegged as the girl most likely to go in May."

Hatcher should go to rehab for anorexia....then die because her body couldn't handle a fish stick.

I think it would kill the show if she left. To me, she's the most consistently entertaining star on that thing. She makes the show.

The show is already killed. They are over the hype, just like Alias....which is done in May.

Well, Alias had three rather kick-ass seaons before it started to go downhill, so let's not compare an amazing show like that to this Desperate Housewives ****. And the ratings for Desperate Housewives certainly aren't showing any signs of wear, it's still huge. I'll never know why, though.

After they killed Vartan, I knew Alias was toast. So sad.

Nicollette Sheridan actually entertains me more consistently, but she's not on as much, she's a side character. Just saying. :)

What the hell?! Well, that will certainly stop me from watching then. Marcia Cross is the only thing that keeps me tuning in every week at the moment.

really? She's a good actress, but her character irritates me to no end. There's no way she'll be cut, though, I sweah. She's very talented, and I think a lot of people feel like you. Plus, she has that "weird almost boyfriend killed husband" storyline going, there's no way she can get cut before that is resolved. So don't worry...

Ugh, kill off Hatcher.

Not just because of the whole bone-rack thing she's got going on, but the McBealian pratfalls are just too much to take. Blech.

I say kill off Gabrielle. That whole thing is getting on my nerves.... If they got rid of Bree, there would be no reason to watch.

NO WAY! They can't get rid of Bree. She and Lynette are the best. The show already isn't as good as it was last year and if Bree is gone it will suck. Now if they did off with Susan or Gabrielle I would be okay with that.

Why do any shows have to kill off anyone? I hate when they think they have to shock by death. If an actor wants out, okay, fine, but otherwise, it's stupid. We get attached to these characters, and it peeves most people off when they die. BOO.

If they rid of Bree...no one will watch the show. She was the most facinating and somewhat unique. She's more than looks and boobs...she has a real character.

Kill off Eva...she's way too overexposed.

Remember the days when she was clean and sober and with Edward Norton? Should have known that was merely a fleeting moment. I had no idea Coogan was going to be in Marie Antoinette (how long ago did I bring that up on here -- it seems like forever -- It's finally in post-production).

Those were the good ole days. She looked great, her career was going great and then...kablooey. She embraced the title of Massive Genital Wart on the Crotch of the Grand Diva of Fug. So sad to watch good love go bad.

I can't wait to see Antoinette. Should be fantastic. At least I hope it is. :]

No worries. If she keeps hanging out with Tara Reid, she'll be buying herself a one way ticket to the Betty.

I got your back too, hon. I loves me some Love and am also sad about her lost sparkle. But I digress - Dunst annoys the crap out of me. Love ya Curtie but I'm with Diss and Marissa on this.

Regarding Housewives, I'm inclined not to believe that gossip either. Bree is central to the plot of the show right now. Her creepy then normal behavior is fascinating and I love her character. I'm with the Gaby peeps but if they do kill her off they'd also erase their Maxim audience who tune in just to see her. For whatever reason since I don't see it.

I called my landlord and he bitched my ass out for calling on Thanksgiving. Told me I was inconsiderate. F*cker. I hope you had a good one.

Just walked in the door. My family might be mental. Honestly. My grandmother (she's off the boat Italian -- I can hardly understand her when she speaks but we did understand this -- ) said in front of my family that Hunter is nice but Mason is more beautiful (her two new great grandchildren).

Food was excellent but I didn't pig out half as much as I usually do -- so much for fasting for the day

Back to the original topic... killing off Bree? No frickin' way. Does anyone else think this article may just be a way to generate hype? Clearly, it's gotten us talking. :) They'd be NUTS to kill off one of the stars - especially the one who won the Emmy. I predict one more season - maybe - unless things really heat up. But so far, this season is a major yawn.

Okay, what a jackass. If your bathroom was flooded I would say that is good enough reason to call on Thanksgiving.

No. She's not a hoot. She and the gator-shoe-with-tassel-wearing ass she's married to are ridiculous. They need to hop a boat and head back to Europe, pronto. The food was good -- I actually held a kid (I don't do babies) -- It seems as though Christmas may be the same crowd. This? Is also serious. And yes, I know what you mean about the cousins. One family ended up not attending and thank God. Stephanie (she's a year older than me) grates my nerves like you would not believe and so does my aunt.
