Is anybody attending cyndi concerts this year or attended the ac one...I think I'm going to the Westbury show.:blob2:
Nope, although I wish!
Love her, idolized her as a kid, much like I idolize Stevie now and I got a chance to see her in a small venue a few years back. Its was actually really awful though because I live in redneck Alberta and they stuck her in the most Neanderthal of venues, a place called "Cowboys". You can imagine.
So a massive fight breaks out in the middle of her second song and after 3 1/2 songs, she left the stage and never cam back. Can't blame her, although it broke my heart a little bit because it meant so much to me to finally see her.
So I'm sure your experience will be waaaaay better than mine, so have a great time!:wavey:

^^ Yikes. Poor Cyndi. Well, I think she's forgiven Canada - I believe she's coming here to Toronto in the near future...
Cyndi was my very first concert ever - I was 13 - she played the Montreal forum, the She's So Unusual tour. It was fabulous.

I was supposed to see her open for Cher, but she had hurt her ankle the night before in Dallas or somewhere....I was bummed, would have been my first time seeing her live.

Saw her once, long story...20 minute show. no joke. Was a total lark. Would like to see her again, but apprehensive about another whoping 15 minutes.
What I AM all over is Eurythmics. Holy cow, does that woman have a set of pipes! And she didn't really try her high notes. She knows she can't really go there anymore, but it makes no difference. Damn she saved the AMA's tonight IMO. (But yes, Cyndi is freakin' adorable. Always has been, always will be!)

She is coming in a couple of weeks, I would go but I can't pull it off with my work schedule.
She is FABULOUS live.

After listening to The Body Acoustic over and over and over again ;) , I would LOVE to see her live. She has an amazingly unique and beautiful voice.

Saw her at Foxwoods on the last tour. One of the best shows I've ever seen (and I've seen a few). Strong voice, tight band, good song selection. I highly recommend that everyone see her if they can. Even if you're not a huge fan. I'm definitely going again if my schedule works out.

Was it at a casino?
Go see her again, she's definitely worth it.

I've seen her a number of times in her career and I was never disappointed. Her banter with the crowd is as entertaining as her songs. This chica has some great stories! Don't miss her!

I've always loved her stories! And the fact that she goes out into the audience during her performances is totally awesome. She's one of a kind, our Cyn. :)

Not that I need to give my buddy "My Little Demon" any more ammunition :D , but I'm old enough to have bought her vinyl albums when they were originally released. I'm sure she was thought of as a lark and someone that would only be a one hit wonder. She needed to have a gimmick back then to get airplay but Cyndi and her songs have proven the test of time. It's nice to see the respect she was shown with the standing ovation after her performance last night.

Yeah, I could understand why she wasn't taken seriously when she first started out. The hair, the outfits... The overly squeaky speaking voice. LOL. I think she played that up a bit in the earlier years. In a way though, I think she's become a victim of that colourful image. A lot of people still dismiss her as "that crazy 80s girl", and have even called The Body Acoustic her comeback album. If they'd bothered to do their research, they would know that she made her REAL comeback in 1993! Hat Full of Stars, people, come on.
i do hope, because TBA has familiar songs on it, that it'll appeal to more people and really open their eyes to her talent. IMO she's a real artist.... much more so than those flash in the pan girls of today. (not mentioning any names, but one of them has the initials LL, and does terrible covers of classic songs. )

She's currently touring with Sandra Bernhardt and Jill Sobule, so if anyone wants to see her, now is the best time to do it! I'm going to a show next month.

The Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA. Great little venue. The kind of places Stevie should be playing.

I don't remember the exact seat number, I'd have to pull the ticket out to look, but it's in section E, right in front of the stage. Pretty good seat. I have no clue if she'll add any dates, but it wouldn't surprise me if she did.

Unfortunately, I'm out of town when she's there. It is a fantastic place for a show, though. I'll be there tonight for BB King.
