Her performance was not good but do you really expect it to be??????? :( It is a tribute to the longevity of Stevie's work through generations of performers.

The music and arrangement of the song was fabulous as well as the band and back-up singers. Lindsay, however, looked at sounded like shi*t. The thing that makes me particularly sick is she has no idea the homage she she be paying to our rock Goddess. IMO to her it's just another song that she hopes will be a hit, it's nothing to do with Stevie and that truly saddens me. But that is to be expected...

OUCH>>who in the h@@@ said this girl could sing?? That was a terrible terrible performance..she needs to get some singing and voice lessons badly..she was so out of breath after that little fiasco ,could anyone understand what she said? For crikey's sake ,point me in the direction of a agent cause my 4 year old granddaughter can do that song more justice than that thing.

I just saw it...
It was cut to hell (guess they were worried about time for the show length?)
She sounded just like a typical 18-year-old doing an ok kareoke version.
No emotion whatsoever.
I noticed she had quite a few back-up singers.
Couldn't understand what she said at the end.
all in all... I guess in it's own wierd way it's a compliment to Stevie, but at the same time embarassing.

Lol, I just saw her murder it on the West Coast! Man, I thought she was gonna take a header when she was doin' her twirls.... Come to think of it I was kinda hopin' she would. It would've made it worth watchin'. What was she thinkin'?? Oh, wait, she wasn't....

I rarely ever wonder out of the 'Lindsey Buckingham' forums but for this one time I had to wonder over here to give my 2 cents on this matter.
I was watching the AMA awards and saw Lindsay Lohan perform 'Edge Of Seventeen' by our own Stevie Nicks and I nearly lost my dinner. I can't believe that Lindsay Lohan "butchered" a classic song as 'Edge Of Seventeen'.
I'm sorry but she butchered it..totally butchered it! :(
I'm sorry but she needs to stay away.....FAR AWAY from anything FM and or SN!
Now for me....it's back to the 'Lindsey Buckingham' forums....for now.

According to Lindsay's site this is what she said at the end :
"at the end of the song. she said sorry that the singing was bad, she's had a bad cold/sour throat for days."
Bad? That's putting it mildly Linz...

Does anyone have a video of Lindsey singing this? I cannot believe she had the gall to sing that song on TV. Does she know what the song is about? Nothing a little girl would understand. Maybe I'm just angry because her studio version doesn't sound that bad. I just know that a bunch of people are going to be like, oh what a great song, Lindsey is such a great writer. Um, no. I hope it does give Stevie a little boost, though... and I hope she likes it more than she liked Hole's Gold Dust Woman!

Lemme see.... she's like 18 with new boobies.... She'd havta snort a few years more coke to make her throat raw enough to use that for an excuse. I say we pool our coins in the sofa & have her vocal chords cut & save the world.
Don't these people have handlers that say.... ummm, let's use the "exaustion" excuse??

I was so gonna give her the benefit of a doubt, but yikes. When she broke into song, I thought is she REALLY starting to sing EO17? Even my husband who prefers to remain un-oppinioned, was cringing. Sorry Linds, that sucked! Thank gawd for the 25 + back up singers that brought an iota of redemption.

I had turned it when she started into that daddy, daughter song, then, I flipped it back and wah-la...she's doing Edge. I think I crapped. Ugh. Just lifeless. Most Ledgies would sing with more heart and soul.
Hillary was even worse, because she was lip-synching and screaming the same thing over and over. Where are my razor blades?
Thank GOD for Keith Urban who saved the day with his actual...you know...singing and talent. Plus, the man is having major throat issues. I adore him. :) I'll take Keith sick over those gals well....anyday.

featuring Keith Urban played here in '97 and noone even knew who the hell they were...just 6 people attended that show.
Saw him one month after Stevie Nicks in Sept 2001 (Sat front row...And again noone knew who the hell he was) and saw him this past March in the huge Ford Center in OKC....Love how he went from small unknown playing in a bar to playing a huge arena such as the Ford Center (Larger than any East/West Coast arenas).

I concur. That was a smoking performance. "Missionary Man" into "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" meant all was well in my little world. I hope to buy their boxed set thing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did! Annie and Dave are two of the greatest and they outclassed & outperformed everyone else tonight. Just brilliant.

They WERE the best thing about last night... Annie and dave look younger and more energetic then ever... Great performance!
I doubt they will tour.. I read an interview with Annie recently and she said she hated touring and can't believe she agreed to do 50 some odd dates with Sting last year - she can't stand the constant nerves... But anyway, they would be a lot of fun live, so many great tracks!!

Everyone's ripping this all over my Sirius radio this morning. The morning show I listen to on the way to work was having a recap and then they said, "we're saving the worst for last. here it is. lindsay lohan singing the classic stevie nicks song". So, they play it and everyone starts yelling and saying how bad it is. the main host who said stevie is his favorite artist was really upset saying she can't cover one of the classic rock n roll songs of all time...they gave lots of props to stevie but tore lindsay to shreds.
btw, anyone find video of it...i missed it

I missed the middle hour, dammit cuz I was recording Earl and The Office, while watching AR - so I missed Los Lonely Boys w/ Santana, and Cyndi w/ Sarah.
However, I DID see Annie Lennox and immediately thought, "Atta girl, show those teeny-boppers how it's done!"

Eurythmics seriously blew my mind! I haven't seen a performance like that in years. It was totally worth it to watch that crap of an awards show just for them. When I see someone like Annie sing after someone like Lindsay it really puts it all into perspective - the talented vs. lack of talent and true artist vs. wannabe. Thank God for Lindsay that she didn't go on after them. Annie was sensational! She seriously has one of the best voices of our time. I was speechless after her performance, not to mention they did my favorite song Missionary Man. Why can't there be more artists like that today?

I saw the Eurythmics do a 8 song acoustic set at the opening of that music museum in Seattle in 2000. It was the most amazing live performance I've ever seen. I had no idea they were playing the AMA's and bummed I missed it.
They are both among the most talented people in the world and Annie is in my top 5 of most beautiful women.
