OK, where are my GG peeps? Ho****, is it gettin' good! I'm lovin it.

Soooo glad Rory stopped acting like a spoiled beyotch & came to her senses.

Soooo poigniant (I just realized I've no clue how to speel that) when Lorelai told Emily "you didn't lose me"

Soooo pleasantly surprised about Luke's...don't want to spoil it...er, surprise?

Sooo worried that the surprise may put a crimp on future plans for L&L.

Crap, I was out and I missed it! :distress: I guess it was good that I was out having fun tho! :D But I really wanted to see that one. Dammit.

Season 1 is on my wishlist for Christmas and if no one gets it I will get it for myself. Then I'll probably get sucked into the others too. Why must they be so expensive?

I don't know but I have it out for Amy Sherman Palladino. That was perhaps the most anti-climactic reuinion ever. And Luke? Okay WHO COMES IN TO A RESTAURANT AND DOES THAT? The little girl creeped me out.

Is there anyone cooler on the planet than Lorelai Gilmore?
I love everyone on the show - Babbette! Did you see her running down the street holding her boobs to ask Luke if the rumours were true about Lorelai and Rory not speaking?!?!?:blob1:

She must be talking about Rory's Dance because They Shoot Gilmores was in the third season! I love that episode.

I spent my Christmas vacation at my parent's house watching and finishing my new Season 5 discs. I'd forgotten how much I did like a lot of those episodes from last year.

Yep, I'm talking about the first one called "The Dance". Paris does this monologue about how much Rory would love to tell everyone she couldn't get a real date and Rory says, "I don't have to, you just told them." Zing! The whole dance was perfect so of course it had to get ruined by Rory and Dean falling asleep. That is the way teen life goes!

I am about 2/3 through Season 1 but I was able to get 2 during the Target sale. They had the earlier seasons for $25 and most were gone when I went back to buy! But they still had a couple left of 2, phew. So I don't have to worry about running out of shows for a bit.

I am soooo upset with Luke. WHY didn't he just tell Lorelai? He just found out about the kid, it's not like he's known & kept it a secret or anything. The longer he waits, the worse it's going to be. I dread next week. :distress:

Lorelai's dress is fab, IMO. She had BETTER end up wearing it.

I seriously hate that they're doing this with Luke & Lorelai. It's so contrived. But I did actually love seeing Luke get all excited and astounded by seeing those pictures of April, and deciding to be a part of her life. I hate the storyline, but Scott Patterson is knocking it out of the park with it. I can't wait to see him try and relate to her.

A WTF thing for me is the casting of Sherilyn Fenn as April's mother. I've loved her since Twin Peaks days, but it still irritates me a little that they're reusing an actress for a completely different part. Sherilyn played Jess's stepmom on that crap episode Here Comes the Son from the third season when Jess went to find his father in California.

I love Lorelai's dress too. I think it's beautiful. I always thought they'd get married at the Dragonfly, it seems like nothing but logical to me.

I HATED Rory's scene crying to the psychologist. It was sooooo bad. The worst fake crying I've ever seen.

This sounds like a good one to have missed. I was making burritos and talking to someone I met on Yahoo Personals. I heard some of it though. You're right Hayley, that part of the storyline is very contrived just to create drama with Luke and Lorelie. Omigod, that just gave me a flashback to GH!

Oh, Rory had to go & see the Yale shrink in order to go back to school. She was running late, and Logan was waiting for her at her apartment. She told him to leave her alone, thanked him for having his sister break up with her for him, and said goodbye. Then hotterthanhell says "I tried to leave you alone, I didn't want the commitment thing, but I can't help it. I love you."

So she yells at him again & slams the door on him & he leaves. She gets to the shrink & he can barely ask her a question about why she left school - she busts out crying "He loves me? What the hell is that? Huh? Huh?"

I almost forgot - Mrs. Kim doing a shot with Lane? I thought I'd die. :p

The episode is titled Friday Night's Alright For Fighting. That alone gets me pumped.

I am ready for some serious dramatics between those four. It's going to be awesome.

There's been two Fleetwood Mac references on the show, both from Lane. In one episode, she was debating whether or not to date Zach, and called Rory to get her opinion on the whole band members dating thing, asking her to listen to Rilo Kiley songs, pre- and post- Jenny/Blake breakup, to see if she could tell a difference in quality, and mentioned the Mac in terms of band breakups. And once, the band was talking about their guilty pleasures, and Lane's was Fleetwood Mac.

Here's the recaplet from TWoP:

Lorelai breaks it to Sookie that her wedding to Luke has been postponed. She decides, with Sookie's support, to delay the postponement, just for a while. Things are still not going too well between Luke and Lorelai, mostly because Luke is a big, clueless baby and Lorelai is too passive-aggressive to call him on it and instead just mopes around like this is all out of her control, hating every minute of it. Paris is truly, truly flipping out all over the Yale paper. The staff has had enough and organizes a revolt. Rory pulls the place together, with Logan's help, and they get the paper out. To celebrate, Logan and Rory kiss and stuff and, while I am barfing, get back together. The Grandparents find out about Christopher paying for Rory's tuition, and they are less than thrilled about it. Lorelai tries to convince Rory to reach out to them and try to patch things up. They go to the most outrageous Friday Night Dinner in Gilmore history -- an up and down, exhaustive evening of yelling, with a side of screaming, and a flambé of regret.

I liked the episode- so did they, average grades of A.

Paris went PSYCHOTIC, to the point of just silly unbelievability. It was ridiculous. Watching Rory in charge of the paper was fun- I have no doubt that in the next couple of weeks she will become the editor of the paper in place of Paris.

The dinner fight only started in the last ten minutes, and they just kept cutting forward to whole new arguments. It was great. I was a little distracted, but they fought about Christopher paying for Yale, the way Rory moved out, the DAR, and even brought up Lorelai not marrying Christopher when they were 16. It was actually pretty funny, but I would've liked to see more.

The best thing about Tivo is the 8-second instant replay button- it skips back 8 seconds when you hit it, and the timing is perfect for that scene. What's going on with 'Gilmore Girls'?
Feud storyline sparks arguments among fans, stars

Tuesday, February 14, 2006; Posted: 10:27 a.m. EST (15:27 GMT)

BURBANK, California (AP) -- This season's "Gilmore Girls" story line where the normally tight mother-and-daughter team of Lorelai and Rory feuded and gave each other the silent treatment caused some sharp arguments among the show's rabid fans.

Turns out there were some divisions on the set, too.

"It wasn't my favorite," admitted Lauren Graham, who plays mom Lorelai.

Lorelai and Rory have since made up; tears flowed. Their rapid-fire repartee is back, although usually by phone. Rory is in Yale now, and, in one busy episode this month, became editor of her school paper and moved in with her boyfriend.

The show's creators are clearly trying to push things and avoid the fatigue that usually afflicts television shows in their sixth season.

Long the WB's most critically acclaimed series, "Gilmore Girls" has quietly grown to become its second most popular after "7th Heaven." The show averages just under 5 million viewers a week, up from 4.1 million two seasons ago, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Last month's announcement that the WB and UPN will shut down to form a new network in the fall has left all of their programs in flux. But "Gilmore Girls" would seem to have earned the right to determine its own destiny and make the move to the new CW network. (The WB is a unit of Time Warner, as is CNN.)

The growth has come despite the widely objected-to story line.

Part of Graham's problems with the feud were personal; she missed working with co-star Alexis Bledel every day. Primarily she believed it didn't ring true to her character.

"I struggled with the idea that this character, being the parent, would go so far as to stop speaking to her daughter and not make more of an effort," said Graham, taking a break in her trailer on the Warner Bros. lot during a slow day of filming. "We had it in bits and pieces, but it was hard for me to justify -- that I wouldn't try harder, that I wouldn't reach out more, that I could stand to be away from her for that long."

She questioned co-creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino more this year than ever, "and I'm sure they enjoyed it not at all," Graham said.

Some critics took her side. Ted Cox of the Chicago Daily Herald said "it seemed suddenly as if the characters were being manipulated to create drama, rather than allowing the drama to flow naturally out of the characters."

'I know there are two camps'
The Palladinos concede that it's tough to come up with new stories for a long-running show without them seeming contrived. But in this case, they said it was important to do something that shakes Rory to her foundation -- a typical rite of passage for budding adults, who learn about themselves by how they respond.

"To really rock Rory's world, we had to go to what the core of the show was and to really have them have a rift and explore what the show would be," Sherman-Palladino said. "I know there are two camps. Personally, for me, I've loved the psychological implications of this year more than any other year because we've really gotten to do some real mother-daughter stories."

Think deeply about the characters, and the silence rings true, she said. Lorelai has spent her life trying to do everything differently from her own mother. And if it was Lorelai taking time off from Yale, her mother would have personally dragged her back to school.

While things are better now between Lorelai and Rory, it's not so for Lorelai and Luke, her diner-owner beau.

They're engaged after an agonizingly long courtship. But the sudden emergence of Luke's daughter from a previous relationship has thrown their marriage plans in doubt.

It's never simple, is it? Driving wedges between seemingly well-suited characters is another risk to an audience's patience. The Palladinos like the idea of exploring the difficulties in bringing together two strong personalities very set in their ways.

"It's very different if you get married at 29, than at 38," Sherman-Palladino said. "It's a very different world, and that's what we're trying to tap into."

The future of "Gilmore Girls" is a convoluted plot itself. The Palladinos say they're genuinely undecided about whether they will continue with the series after this season -- alarming news for fans of a series that, more than most, reflects the strong sensibilities of their creators.

One factor that may have driven them away -- a pilot for a new series, a romantic comedy, that would have been filmed in New York -- is no longer in the picture. It was scrapped with the WB's dissolution.

The Palladinos are making plans for a cliffhanger ending to this season (wedding? no wedding?) and for the show to run without them in the fall, just in case.

Graham said the signs point to one more season after this one; the production company is making sure to add another year for people who had six-year contracts. Graham said that's when she'd like to move on, citing the show's workload.

"Getting the language perfect requires a number of takes that you might not have on another show," she explained. "It's just a lot of work -- 13, 14 hours door to door. I've missed weddings, I've missed babies being born. I'm not complaining, because of what it has brought me, but I would be ready for a different balance."

She has a hard time imagining the Palladinos not involved, particularly if the series is coming to an end.

Television economics may also play a part in the decision. The WB is canceling "7th Heaven" because, after a decade on the air, the network's most popular show was losing money because it was so expensive to make.

"They've come to us before and asked point-blank how long we think the show can go," Sherman-Palladino said, "and we say it's a family show, it can go on forever. If '7th Heaven' could have gone on for 10 years, why couldn't this show go for 10 years? There's no reason. They're going to be hard-pressed to assemble a cast this good on television again."

Weird ep last night. At first, I hated it - it seemed wrong. Lorelai would never feel comforatble in a place like that, but she was acting like it was great. It just didn't seem right. Then all was well with Luke & Lor & I was enjoying it. Then stupid Huntzberger showed up & was a dick, as usual, and Logan did what he was told, as usual.

HATED the end, when the mere mention of April ruins everything - why?!?! Why is Lorelai getting all pouty every time Luke mentions her? I would feel left out too, but SAY something! Tell him you want to meet her instead of moping around - that's SO not Lorelai.

So here's what I'm thinking: Logan will probably be given an ultimatum by his parents - Rory & doing what he wants but they cut him off, OR doing as he's told & ditching Rory in order to stay rich. I just have a feeling. And I've no clue which he'll choose.

As far as Luke & Lor, they MUST get married, they simply must. Anything else is unacceptable to me. I don't care if they elope, or do a big thing, or what. They just have to get married. That is all.

Rory & Logan were creeping me out with that singsong-y thing of theirs, and the annoying couple-y crap with the newspaper, etc. Made me want to puke.

I'm pissed off at the show, seriously. It's one thing to enter in a totally soap opera subplot about Luke's lost daughter- but for christ's sake, do they have to forget everything they've done with this character, and everything about him that we loved? Luke is not a stupid man. He's not completely careless and thoughtless. He doesn't treat people he loves like they don't exist. He's a grumpy man- not a social retard who doesn't know how to treat the woman he fought for for ten years.

It's pissing me off.

The show's going to at least have next season, which I think would be perfect- I want the show to end with Rory graduating Yale. It's just a matter of whether or not Amy & Daniel will renew their contracts and stay at the helm. I hope they do- it would be a weird change of pace to have someone else controlling and writing the show, even if they are sucking lately.

Rory & Logan were creeping me out with that singsong-y thing of theirs, and the annoying couple-y crap with the newspaper, etc. Made me want to puke.

I'm trying to figure out if last night's episode was actually as funny as I thought it was, because I was stoned and thought that it and Scrubs were the funniest things I'd ever seen.

I want an MP3 of Sebastian Bach doing Hollaback Girl. It was awesome. And I squealed like a girl when Zach proposed to Lane, even though I think it's totally retarded. She's crazy.

I also side with Logan with that whole thing. Dude, they were on a break. He's a man whore. That's what you get.

I only caught bits & pieces between Idol, I have to watch it tonight (I taped it.) Hollaback Girl? Ho****.

Logan - I agree with you, but I still feel bad for Rory. You just know she got that sick feeling in the pit of her stomach, that she had NO clue about it. He's so slick, I don't want to like him. But I do. :o

Zach came to see Gil & Brian to try and get them to reform the band, and they were playing a bat mitzvah. So he walked in on them doing Hollaback Girl, WONDERFULLY. Gil dedicated it to the bat mitzvah-ee, saying it was her favorite song. They also alluded to having played "My Humps." Then they ended it with Hava Negila- his pronunciation was excellent! I freaking love Sebastian Bach on there. I know it'll be a good episode for me if I see his name in the credits.

Here's a recap for those who missed it due to the crap that is American Idol:

Does anyone else here like Chris? Or at least like the story line when he comes on the show? I really liked the conversations between Lorelai and Chris last night. Luke has been such a downer on the show lately and Lorelai seems to have lost some of her energy. It was fun to see her joking around with someone and getting angry when she felt she needed to.

They're really playing the parallels up on GG right now. Zach and Lane are getting married as are Luke and Lorelai. Rory and Paris have broken up with their respective boyfriends. Luke and Chris are both trying to raise daughters, but the difference is Chris wants to include Lor and at the moment Luke isn't.

Can you tell I hang out on TWoP, hayley?

I like how Lorelai becomes with Chris- fun, you know? Their banter is natural, and I like it. But I still go "UGGHGGHHHH" every time I see his name in the credits, because I kinda just wish he'd go away. I liked the Chris stuff in the earlier seasons- Christopher Returns and that whole arc in the first season is one of my favorites of the show. But you're totally right- it was great to see her so pissed at Chris. I miss seeing fire from Lorelai- they've turned her into this weird lobotomized person. Luke deserves a slap- and so do the writers, for turning him into an insensitive idiotic boob.

And the parallels ARE insane- and I feel like I'm being hit over the head with the contrivance stick.

I used to be a constant poster on the TWoP GG boards, but. I just can't let myself care that much about this show anymore. I love it, I will not miss it, I try to make everyone watch it, but I'm disappointed in the way the last few seasons have gone and it makes me a little sad.

I completely agree. I can't even read the Alias boards anymore because the show is so bad. I don't feel that way about GG yet, but I feel like I'm watching a different show. As I was telling someone the other day, it feels like it's lost its heart.

I loved the first and second season episodes with Christopher. I don't mind the angsty moments between them. I was smiling when she got to rub in the fact that Sherri did to him what he did to her. Just a little bit.

I was trying not to spoil in case you guys missed it. The sucky thing is that I had NO CLUE until the last 90 seconds. I thought I would barf. Wait until you hear the last line spewed out by Chris.

It premieres tonight! Although I'm not sure if I will be able to watch since it is opposite House, my new roommate's favorite show. We might have to flip for it. I HAVE to see the premiere!

I'm through discs 1, 2, and part of 3 for Season 5 so I am catching up. I can't believe Rory lost her virginity to Dean! And while he was married! Damn. They just broke up at this point and she's been getting to know Logan. That secret society episode was really neat.

The season finale for season 4 kind of sucked. Lorelei and Luke's first kiss was forced after the whole Jason showing up thing. That was so contrived and they should have just left him out. It would have made the episode much more romantic.

I frigging love Kirk having night terrors while naked. That was too much. It was hysterical when he was asking Luke for help.

Yeah, it's tough! But this will only go on for a few weeks until House goes off because of baseball. My boyfriend loves having the House episodes Tivo'd, but I don't care. I'm going to tape House for him so I can Tivo my girls. I haven't taped something in a couple of years- lol.

See, I love the final three episodes of Season 4. The real GG dorks call them The Trilogy. The episode "Last Week's Fights, This Week's Tights" with Liz's Ren wedding is my favorite episode ever. I start howling when Mr. Rosso from Freaks and Geeks comes out with the toy song. And then the dance, to one of my favorite Sam Phillips songs... sigh. I love that episode. I love when Lorelai starts freaking out about Luke and does the stuff like falling all over the table in the diner. I love it.

And I love the L/L kiss. What buildup- I love how he finally just kissed her out of sheer annoyance. It's so him. I like it all. But man, that Rory sleeping with Dean stuff was horrific. Just horrific. Uggghhhh.

I'm excited to see the premiere tonight. I want the anticipation to be over- I want to know whether it will have potential this year or if it's just going to suck some ass from the very start.

Thanks again for the tip on the bargain at Target on s4 and 5. I'm obsessed.

So do you go to fan sites? If so, what are the good ones?

You know, I'm surprised to say it, but I liked it. A lot. I liked seeing the girls together so much, which I've missed for the past couple of years. And Rory was cute, not screechy and annoying.

I loved Lorelai's monologue about clinging to the bumper. It was perfectly written and done. I think it expressed EVERYONE'S frustrations with it all. And the final scene with Luke and his packed up truck broke my heart. BROKE my heart. Tears, etc. It was good.

I'm looking forward to seeing next week. I don't know how long I can stomach a Lorelai-Chris relationship, but I'm going to try.

i pretty much stopped watching it last season after the whole long lost daughter bit. as a viewer, you knew they were going to have to throw some sort of a wrench into the whole luke/lorelai relationship or else, you basically wouldn't have a show anymore. however, the whole dna testing bit really turned me off and i thought it was pretty much ridiculous.

that said, i watched last night without very high expectations. it was nice to finally not be annoyed by rory though i wanted to punch lorelai in the face a few times -- especially since you could feel her blurting out that she slept with chris coming from a mile away.

it's been said that the relationship will be like this for most of the season due in part to the fact that scott patterson and lauren graham apparently don't get along in real life.

anyone else hear this?

The April thing last season was horrific. Just horrific. That's why I appreciated Lor's mini-speech about clinging to the bumper so much. At least they finally just said it, and got it out there so clearly. But April's not going away anytime soon- I think Luke & her mother are going to start some kind of relationship.

The SP/LG hating each other thing has been circulating for a long time and I for one do believe it. LG's also been quoted several times as saying that she thinks that Lorelai should be with Christopher in the end... she also possibly has the delusion that that's the way the fans would prefer it. Ha.

Supposedly, Lorelai is going to have a real breakdown about the Luke situation in either next week's episode or the week after. I'm a sucker for LG's breakdowns. When they broke up in the fifth season- I just cried and cried along with her.

I must say I was a bit disappointed with last night's ep. Not enough pop culture references for me, I guess. And it didn't get to me emotionally AT ALL until the very end. Kirk being blinded by Taylor's cam & smashing into the diner was classic. And I loved how at the end, Luke said that he really didn't care about the damage that much, that none of it mattered without her. I was literally nauseous when she was about to tell him that she'd been with Chris. Ugh.

I do not want Lor with Chris. I don't. I don't buy this **** about them being "meant to be." He's had his chance, more than once, and he F'd it up every single time. It's old history, and they should bury it. I'd rather they end it with her alone than with him.

I did love Lane's speech about the conspiracy of sex. Kirk as Luke was pretty great too- once they panned over to his 'No Cell Phones' sign I kinda lost it. Also? I wanted to punch Luke in the face when he and Lor met out on the street because of that "Well, you asked me to marry YOU" thing. Ugh.

Lorelai making "Little Asia" for Rory was awesome - classic Gilmore.

Can't wait to see what happens when Emily finds out about L&L. And Chris.

Of course with Hello Kitty displayed prominently.

Emily is quite a character. I love the ep when she lost it and smokes and drinks on the couch all day in her robe. Because she's always so much in control! She never really warmed up to Luke so she might be happy. Although she won't miss the opportunity to tell L she has screwed up again.

I don't know how she'll react. On one hand, she may be all "Luke wasn't right for you anyway, you should be with Christopher." But she could pull a "what the hell is wrong with you, you finally had everything you've ever wanted & you screwed it up because after waiting for years you just couldn't wait another day." And I'm not sure which reaction I want her to have.

Those kids at the cotilion - gawd. How awful. I would hate that life. Rory & Logan - cheese factor was way too high for me. Paris was awesome last night though.

Lane & Zack reacting to their pregnancy is just how I imagine me & Mark would 'Oh, yeah this baby totally sucks!"

And I literally couldn't watch Chris at the end. I looked the other way & tried not to barf. So mad she called him later.

Yep, her no reaction was completely unexpected. Those writers are clever!

The cotilion, ugh, I thought that Michel would get bored but he didn't.

The whole baby thing cracked me up too, "I'm worried about [roommate]." So funny how Lane had to talk to hubby that way! "I'm glad you're fine with it but I'm not!".

What story lines will they have for Luke without Lorelei? Those might even be harder to watch than L&C. F*ck.

They don't really give him storylines. Whenever they have, it's sucked. IE Rachel, the stupid Nicole marriage thing, and now April. Sherilynn Fenn is lined up for a bunch of episodes, as is David Sutcliffe (Christopher). So there's going to be some kind of romance between Luke & April's mom.

I've become resigned to the Christopher thing. Honestly, with the way the story's going, it makes sense. I'm just hoping she will be with Christopher, it will feel WRONG, and L/L will be back and for good.

Last night was good. I liked Lane & Zack's "This baby TOTALLY sucks!" thing too.

That's how I feel, I've resigned myself to it. After getting through Season 5 I see how L&L's relationship evolved and grew and it really did seem right. Stupid Christopher. Also, Dean should've shut his mouth about L not being good enough for Lorelei. Jerk face. Did you see that actor has his own show now? Some supernatural thing. I think he's adorable.

What was with Rory finding weirdo art chicks & becoming BFF's with them all of a sudden? Maybe she'll have a lesbian experience.

Why couldn't they have just written L&L as happy for a few months, jeez? Their whole courtship was wrought with strife and now it's over. Hopefully the L&C thing won't last much longer. Although as soon as it's over Luke will be with April's ho mom anyway. Thank God for Kirk, right?

Even though I knew it was happening, I was too disgusted to even watch the previews, so I didn't see it. I have, however, read that it's going to be a knock-down brawl. A real fight. I'm pumped.

I was also irritated by Rory's breakdown- she already had that breakdown, last season after the boat and quitting Yale. Seriously. I'm fed up. I did like her pink highlights, even though her new art school friends are just about the most annoying thing on my TV ever.

I just can't believe Lor would've gotten married without Rory being there.

Exactly. And Christopher? "Oh, come on, she'd be happy for us!" Do you even KNOW your daughter? Can you even fathom the relationship she has with Lorelai? Apparently not, to both questions. I hate him. And I hate that Lorelai's been swept away by money & romance & PDA's & their history together - so swept away that she let him convince her to get married without Rory there. I want to shake her. Snap out of it, bitch! It wasn't so long ago that YOU refused to marry LUKE because Rory wouldn't be there.

WHY did they have Christopher donate thousands for that bridge? Ugh.

Lorelei as 10x crazier this year. They've given her a crazy cake with extra crazy icing or something. She's annoying me.

^ I agree on all counts. Chris is such an ass. I guess he means well, but he NEVER thinks anything through before doing it. Then he makes some spontaneous grand gesture & can't understand why it doesn't thrill everyone (buying dinner & lots of wine for Rory's paper friends comes to mind, as does his latest "save the bridge" stunt.) I hate him. He is the antithesis of what Lorelai is about - she was never about the money, always independent & not able to be bought. He's too eager top impress & uses his money to do it. Pisses me off. I literally have to look away from the TV several times every show cuz I hate them together so much.

Luke - don't know what you got til it's gone, huh buddy? When he was holding Doola (good lord) it seemed like he was thinking about what might have been - whether he was thinking in terms of April, or him & Lorelia, who knows. But good for him, standing up to Anna. He's right - HE never made the choice not to be in April's life, SHE did.

I've gotten past the point of even giving energy towards hating Christopher. He SUCKS, and I guess I'm just waiting around to see that fight next week. I hope Luke kicks the **** out of him. Him in the preview being all "oh, diner guy blah blah" made me want to kick the **** out of him even more. Lorelai was in a serious relationship with the man, and frankly the only reason Christopher even has Lorelai right now is because of how much she loved DINER GUY and how heartbroken she was because of DINER GUY.

The only moments of true rage for me were 1) April's mom doing her psycho act on Luke. What a bitch. She made that choice, not him, and I was INCENSED while she was telling him it was none of his business what she chose to do. Most importantly, 2) She was using LION BRAND HOMESPUN for a scarf. That is an abomination.

As a knitting geek, I was pleased to see everyone knitting and doing a decent job. Although I loved that "four hours later" during the knit-a-thon, Patty/Babette/Gypsy/Lorelai had knitted fabric that would've taken four times that amount of time.

Let's all remember this about Chris... he is NOT signed on for the entire year. I think I read somewhere that he's to be in about twelve to fifteen episodes? And last night's was # 9. So. I ain't holding my breath. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

I think what I'm most upset about is that she married Chris, and she's giving away those I Love You's like they're nothing. There's a REASON she NEVER said I LOVE YOU on the show to Max OR Luke- it's a big deal. And she was always so romantic about the idea of getting married. Getting married is the biggest thing and the biggest decision she could ever make, and she did it like it was nothing. I am really, really unhappy that she did this and it's completely out of character.

Luke did the wrong thing with how he handled April, and that will set me off on a whole other rant because the way he did that and the way he was last season was COMPLETELY out of character for him. He FOUGHT for Lorelai, and as big and HUGE a deal it is to find you have a kid, the Luke they've spent time developing as a character would NEVER have done that to Lorelai. Ever. And SHE wouldn't have taken it for as long as she did.

I liked Christopher back in the day. But I think what he's become now with the $$$ is the complete antithesis of what Lorelai's about. Money shouldn't solve problems or make you friends. Also, see my rant before about how pissed off I was at the preview when he's calling Luke DINER GUY. See also the episode Wedding Bell Blues from the fifth season, when Chris ****ed up Luke & Lorelai so badly at Richard & Emily's wedding, causing that split. I see all of these things as characteristics of just how utterly selfish he is. He's been a crappy father to Rory, he's selfish and unthinking, and Lorelai's his number one apologist. Just because he has money now doesn't make up for everything.

I really think I need to just breathe.

I see you're on a Patty Griffin kick. That woman can make me cry like nobody's business. Rain, Long Ride Home, Makin' Pies, Top of the World.... She's due for a new CD any time now.

I don't think Christpher is selfish at least not on purpose. He has a good heart and is just a little clueless on how to approach his newfound windfall. Wouldn't anybody have a heard time adjusting.

Hayley, not only are you right about how out of character it was for Luke to shut LG out of April's life, it was WAY more out of character for Lorelai to stand one second of it! She would never put up with that BS. The whole storyline was far too unbelievable for me to swallow and made me like the show a lot less.

Paula- I'm pretty sure they won't kill Richard off. I think they're just using it as a vehicle for Lorelai to get closer to Luke- apparently Chris is still going to be MIA through all the drama but Luke will be helping the family out- even chauffering Emily about.

Since I know some of y'all are fans I found this news piece rather funny:

RUSH's Geddy Lee Films Cameo On The Gilmore Girls

SEBASTIAN BACH (ex-SKID ROW) has issued the following update:

"What an incredible experience it was filming the latest episode 'Will You Be My Lorelai, Gilmore?' of the CW Network show Gilmore Girls. As I was getting ready to leave the hotel for the Warner Brothers Lot, my phone rang and it was my stand in on the show and good buddy Kerry Tobin. He said 'Dude, you are not gonna believe who is hanging out on the set today - Geddy Lee from RUSH!!' I said 'He is not!!' But I knew to expect the unexpected on the show. During my five seasons on the Gilmore girls I have met and filmed episodes with CAROLE KING, SONIC YOUTH, Madeline Albright, Sally Struthers, Micheal York, Grant Lee Philips, and many more eclectic musicians & actors from all across the spectrum of the entertainment industry. But Geddy Lee? My favorite singer/bass player ever in the history of the planet? Hanging out on the set, checking us out filming our scene? Could it be?!?

Sure enough, when I get to the production office to rehearse the song we perform in the episode, there in the flesh is Mr. Geddy Lee and his beautiful daughter Kyla! Turns out Kyla has impeccable taste and never misses an episode of her favorite show, The Gilmore Girls, right beside Dad who watches every one with her! Geddy told us that he was in LA listening to mixes of the new Rush CD, and set up a tour of the WB lot with Kyla, who had a great time meeting the cast and watching us work. I said to Geddy 'Well, hey ..... why don't you guys BE IN THE SHOW???' The opportunity of filming a scene with Geddy and Kyla was just too great for this Rush fan to pass up! Geddy chuckled and said, 'Well, I don't know... we'll see.' I then proceeded to badger the producer of the show Helen Pai (who's name is the anagram Hep Alien is based upon) 'Hey can Geddy and Kyla be in our scene?' Helen, in all her awesome-ness, said 'Sure I don't see why not!' Unbelievable!!!

This was around 7 pm or so. We were not on call to shoot the scene for at least a couple of hours. Which meant that Geddy and Kyla would have to make the commitment to stay on the set until 2 or 3 in the morning, by the time the shot was lit and filmed from all angles of coverage. What troopers they were! We got to hang out and rap about anything and everything, all night, and for me the chance to 'pick Geddy's brain' for four or five hours or so was a night I will never forget!

Coming from Canada and growing up in the 1970's, a truly surreal moment occurred that evening. I got to introduce Sally Struthers to Geddy Lee! For me being a little kid who grew up on All In The Family and Rush, to somehow be the guy who introduces these two icons of Seventies culture, was really quite mind blowing! Geddy was very excited to meet Sally and even did a short Archie Bunker impersonation on the spot! He told me he was a huge fan of All In The Family and you could tell that he truly dug meeting Gloria Bunker!

Some heroes you meet and you wish you never did. Then there are those that exceed your every expectation, set you at ease in their company, understand that you are freaking out in their presence but still are cool answering questions etc., that they have probably answered a thousand times! Geddy Lee was definitely the most coolest, humble and down to earth Rock God I ever shot a drama/comedy with! Click over to MySpace.com/hepalien for pics and video of this momentous rock/pop/tv occasion! And look for Geddy and Kyla's cameo on the show.. but don't blink, you might miss it!"

It's official - this season is the last. I'm OK with it, it seems natural to end it here, with Rory's graduation.

Love that Rory's not getting what she wants for once, and doesn't know how to deal. Excited that L&L are back on good terms, but I'm not sure I want them officially back together before the end - I'd rather they leave it kind of open-ended. Hopefully Rory will turn down Logan's proposal - she just got done with school, for God's sake, let the girl start working & develop her own life & identity!

Lauren Graham said in an interview that she'll be really pissed/upset if they ended wtih show with a wedding. I agree with her. It would be so cheesy.

Um, I'm not really sure what happened last night because I'm STILL SOBBING from Lorelai's karaoke adventure. I mean, seriously. My boyfriend walked in the room and saw me crying after that episode and asked if I was trying to get a job modeling for Jill Greenberg. Seriously, he had to go get me 7-Up and Saltines and rub my back for half an hour to get me to calm the hell down. I'm not ashamed that this show has the capacity to completely unbalance me!

I think next week looks wonderful- I think having the townies throw a graduation party for Rory is the PERFECT way to end the show. There are two things that I REALLY need for them to do before it's over, though:

1) Luke and Lorelai should be married, expecting twins, and wearing matching hats by the end of the episode.
2) Emily needs to tell Lorelai that she is nothing but happy that she and Luke are married, expecting twins, and wearing matching hats- that she knows now that Christopher was wrong for her, and wants her to be happy.

I expected from the minute they brought up that boat trip a couple of weeks ago and April backed out that he will ask Lorelai to go with him instead. I hope that happens.

^ Yes, yes and YES! It should be a great finale. I was thinking the same thing about Luke. I can just hear him saying "you know, I haven't cancelled any of the reservations for this summer......" :D

Glad that Rory told Logan no. She's just out of school, she needs to figure out what she wants out of life before she decides if & when she should get married. I was appalled by his reaction - just stalking off like that? Nice. 3 years & that's what he does. No hug, no tears, just "pissed off I'm not getting my way" face & "goodbye Rory." Dick.

I think the Lorelai acceptance moment came when Richard told her "this is your moment too." Perfect.
