Did y'all see this? Is was on like Thursday or Friday and they showed it again on MSNBC a couple of hours ago. Sheebus. This organization went online and pretended to be teens to get men to come to this house where Chris Hanson from Dateline was. They had a doctor, a rabbi (!!!) and others come there. They also had a man who walked into the house.....naked. They claimed they weren't there for sex and had never done anything like that before...yada, yada. It was insane.
Jesus Christ, that's so upsetting....especially since people of authority, or the cloth, are just as likely to be as pervy as the general skid one would normally imagine them to be. I saw something like that awhile back with someone posing as a 13 year old girl wanting to lose her virginity and an absurd amount of waaay older guys showed up. Ugh.

Young girls AND boys. It was to show parents that they need to keep closer watch on who their kids talk to on the internet. Rita did a show on MSNBC about it as well and how to prevent your child from getting lured by these men. The one guy who walked into the house naked just took the cake, I mean, geez. They caught him again, the day after his getting caught nekkid in the house. The rabbi also...eek!
It ws amazing to hear them say, one after another..."This is the first time I've done this." and "I'm seeing psychiatrist about this."
One guy wanted to add a dog to the proceedings. I mean, sick. :distress:

So this show proved that some men (upon invitation) would like to have sex with young, promiscuous teenage girls. Was it part of "The Bleedin' Obvious" series of television specials?
   Lux you are just the best in the world, you never fail to have me dying of laughter.

No I think what it proved to some people, who for whatever reason didn't know already was that they need to be watching and monitoring more closely what their young kids are doing online...

I am surprised Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and James Dobson didn't show up. I am so glad alot of religeous folk showed up...it speaks multitudes about screwed up some of our society's "pillars of morality" are.

Which reminds me of something even more whoreanus I saw on the News last night. They were having a story about teenage prostitutes working in a more suburban neighborhood of san francisco, instead of where the usual places are, Oakland and in the city - and they had busted one lady for prostituting her four year old daughter. Neat. Four. Mother.

Yes fair enough but these men were invited over for the sex so this particular experiment only proves that if you invite them they will come. The internet then has nothing to do with it, it would be a case of controlling your daughters from wanting sex with older men. Really that doesn't prove anything, it would need to be if they arrived as predators taking unwanted sex.
I think when you get into blaming little children, sometimes VERY young for WANTING sex with older men, and not putting the blame on the adult, that's a problem--and to me it seems as if that is what you trying to get across. It proves, or rather reminds, people of the dangers that ARE on the internet. You definetely can't say it's only a problem with the children (although there is obviously some problem there) the problem is with the sexual predators online stalking out children---and if you watch out for that, and parents are more responsible...then you can solve something

No I didn't blame children for wanting the sex. I said the particular experiment created a situation (as I'm lead to believe) where the supposed teenagers invited men over for sex which is then basically an experiment to see if there are men who'll take up that offer and we don't need the experiment to tell us that of course they will.
Well I guess I misunderstood your point. However, I still think the experiment was effective. It was a staged set up, to simply reinforce or to show parents who were oblivious that these guys are actually out there prowling on the net. It wasn't so much set up from what I understood that the "kids" were on there to see if there were men who would take up a sex offer...but instead I believe what they did was have conversation with the men, and eventually turned sexual---the desired effect being accomplish, showing and reminding parents to basically watch what your kids are doing and who they are talking to online--so this doesnt happen to them!
