haha...i thought I'd lure you guys in with the topic. Anyway...i was eating some popcorn and one of those seed/shell things that normally sticks in your teeth is caught in the back of my throat! It feels like its stuck near the adam's apple and NOTHING i try will get it out. I've tried eating bread, soup, sodas, orange juice...I'm too full to try anything else...I even tried shoving my toothbrush down there. It's DRIVING ME MAD.

okay well I'll take the deafening silence as proof that I've further alienated myself from my fellow Ledge-mates. Chalk that one up in the win column!

I wish I could help, but I am not really an expert when it comes to things stuck in a throat. I usually spit or swallow.
Hey, you asked for it.

Yeah I was thinking this topic could go in about a million different directions. At any rate...its really driving me to distraction. It's been stuck there for about 3 hrs now. *sigh*....

Well, not odd by Ledge standards, of course. More of an odd thing to have happen to someone. :xoxo:

Aww, thats lovely...you guys make me feel better! I will get the camera back from work and start on some stuff. I wanted to do the "Murrow" solo from Soundstage...its very dark sounding. But I may get some acoustic pieces up for you guys like Street of Dreams or something. I am getting a new Chet Atkins nylon soon...!

believe it or not, this has happened to me, which is why I no longer eat popcorn, of any kind. in my case, it had to just work itself out.

Maybe just clear your throat or cough as much as you can. I hate that. I really hate it when a piece of popcorn gets stuck under my gum. Gah.

It happens to me all the time. I just wait and it goes away eventually. I could never stop eating popcorn. It's so delicious, it's worth getting that crap stuck my throat.

Eeeek! I hate when I eat popcorn and get a hull stuck in my throat. I usually do some sort of hacking to try to dislodge it, or drink lots of water or something. It irritates your throat though.
Is it gone yet?
I had it happen with a piece of bacon (!) right before I caught my flight to see Stevie in Vegas. The culprit was an A&W Bacon n' Egger, and there was a little piece of bacon didn't seem to want to go down. It wasn't large enough to choke me, but it WAS large enough to be a big f*cking annoyance. Anyway, it look about 4 hours and a helluva lot of water to get that bitch down. Sooooooo, jusy wait it out, I guess...and drink a lot.

I think hard alcohol is your only hope now.
No, really! All the burny fluids might help dissolve it and if not, you'll be too pie-eyed you won't even notice it anymore! How long has it been there now?

Isn't there some kind of genetically modified hull-less super popcorn, without that tiny concave hull bit the- one that exactly matches, and affixes to, the convex tonsil?
Surely Orville solved that issue. ¿No?
Society has not advanced at all. I am so disappointed!
mylittledemon, I am glad you survived.

Damn you! Now I must work to get my invention out before anyone else does, due to your "suggestion".
My boss's wife bites that part out of the popcorn before she gives it to her two year old.

It's a girl, and since you couldn't get that kernel husk out of your throat for hours, I'm now thinking she's a pretty smart chick. Aside from your throat husk, I've had husks in my teeth for way too long, too - again making her pretty smart. Do you want to dig a husk out of a two year olds teeth? Yeah, me neither.

Yes, well, that's not very nice, is it? Your two year old wants some of your popcorn snack, and you're just going to say "no"?

Sure why not...i'd be like the dad in that commercial that tells his daughter that unicorns will disappear forever if she eats his emerald nuts.
