Stacy Peralta's "Riding Giants"

The other night I saw Stacy Peralta's "Riding Giants" (2004), one of the best directed, most suspenseful, & most poignant & beautiful movies of the last several years. The "giants" are both the killer storm waves & the amazing athletes who challenge one another at big-wave-surfing hot spots around the world. The biggest names in the sport are all there: Laird Hamilton, Jeff Clark, Buzzy Kerbox, Greg Noll, Kelly Slater & a moving tribute to fallen athlete Mark Foo. This is edge-of-your-seat entertainment.

I love surfing movies/docs anyway.Amber, you should see this. I just bought it at Best Buy (it has deleted scenes), along with the Criterion "Ugetsu" & the Universal "Mummy" set.

I have seen it, and I loved it! I am a big fan of surf movies. We live fairly close to Mavericks.
