How many dead poodles does she have on her head? Let's guess. The winner gets a jelly bean. I'll choose which flavor.

Wow, I feel like I stepped into a time warp. Stevie of all eras is just a total style icon. That Tusk-era hair is sooooo 1979, I could imagine any girl from where I grew up in Long Island New York with that cut in '79. I think they were calling it a 'drop-perm' because it was done on long hair with extra long rods, and this resulted in long waves which look like they were sort of 'dropping' from the head. I love the sandy 2-tone color too, silvery on the outside, moussy on the inside. Very earthy. She just needs some great silver and turqoise jewelry to complete that California look.

Information about Tom Moncrieff
From a 1980 Rolling Stone (http://www.nicksfix.com/rs_issue310.htm):
seven years ago [which would have been 1973], close buddies Lindsey Buckingham, Tom Moncrieff, Richard Dashut and Stephanie Nicks lived together in a small house in Los Angeles. Now, Buckingham and Nicks are in the band, Dashut is their coproducer and Moncrieff most recently played bass for Walter Egan's band---which Buckingham has produced---and helps Stevie make demos.
From buckinghamnicks.net (http://www.buckinghamnicks.net/bn/tusk/sara.html):
In this period of their strained relationship, according to Moncrieff, Lindsey was not able to work with Stevie on her demos (but did work with her album tracks, of course). This job then fell to Stevie's long time friend, roommate and bandmate, BN guitarist and bass player, Tom Moncrieff. Tom worked with Stevie for some time, helping her record and put together many of her songs for presentation to Fleetwood Mac. Some of the notable songs he worked with her on were Sara, Gypsy and Sisters of the Moon, and many other songs through to the period of the Bella Donna album. Tom also built and maintained a recording studio with Stevie during that period.
Tom, THAT LITE beer SUCKS! Stevie looks gorgeous! :xoxo:

What else is new? :o
The jelly bean is still up for grabs, kids. Only half of it, though, because I got kind of hungry and I can only bite my nails so much.

What?!?!?! I totally won the jellybean! It's obviously three poodles, and with my Count from Sesame Street impression, I totally nailed it hands down!!!

Anyone care for some Stevie-with-electric-hair video from 1977 Japan?
Looks witchy,
sounds scratchy,
and her
nails
are
long.

The japan performances are some of my faves. It also has my favorite Stevie hair, the "halo of curls." I really love it. The GDW yowling alone from japan is sublime.

It looks like some sort of hot-roller hair. Do you have the Japan Young Music performance?

uh...I don't know if I have that. I just have some performances from Japan... Her curls were magnificent, though, as was her debauched drunkenness as evidenced through her awesome yowling...

It is Rhiannon, so let's see if it might be the same, all the same.
Does yours say "For Screening Only" on it? I don't know enough to know if there is only one Japan video from '77. And still we wait for YouSendIt, while hogging David's thread.

Yes, yes, silly dreamer, yours may be the "same", but the one I am offering may in fact be smaller and more compressed. Soooooo...take that! Hah -Hah
You will not hear from me again, until YouSendIt has spoken.

David comes up with some great ones on here but in all the years i've been ogling Stevie pics I have yet to see one catching her in the act of enjoying her favorite back in the day party favor. Now if the Brit rags could come up with one featuring Kate Moss doing it there just has to be one of LA Nicks out there .

How exactly is Mary connected to Stevie? I see her in old pics a lot but I never knew who she was.
Mary dated and then married Liberty DeVito, from Billy Joel's band. Liberty later toured in Stevie's band in the 80's. I think that Mary and Stevie just "hit it off" from traveling in the same circles and have been friends ever since. Mary and Liberty now live in Orlando and they are still close today.
There may be more of a connection that I'm not aware of. I just know this because a friend of mine knows Mary professionally and she casually mentioned a couple of years ago that Stevie was coming to florida and they were getting together.

So well stated! And this is why I love her Tusk look the most...well, that and the berets and the colors she wore, and the poofy bun hairdo and it seems like she was wearing pants/jeans more which I love on her.
