I'm Australian and so in line with the customs of the majority of Australians, we are called to pray three times a day. We don't all have to wear the pointy hats at prayer time anymore and so the younger generations tend not to but we do have to slip on the robes still. We're not allowed kangaroo meat on Saturdays and Sundays. The main belief system of the tribe I come from is actually my signature here, it's also why we have to wear purple on Sundays. That's pretty much it though.
What about vegemite? My Australian friend always talks about it as a national pride. Please express your thoughts on this most important subject.

Yeah...nationality would be your country of origin, right? I think, thread starter, that you meant ethnicity, right?
My family is so mixed that nothing really matters. There's no one culture with which we identify. We've got English, French, Spanish, Native American, and African American. We probably have others as well that we don't know about. I could've come out looking very interesting based on all of that but unfortunately I'm just pasty white.
Customs? Well, down here in hickville, we like to eat bull testicles and ride two wheelers down the streets rather than cars. Also, we have a cow in the "yard" behind our trailer that we decorate with Christmas lights year round. Unfortunately we might have to change that, though, because some bitch who lives in our park called animal control. Apparently you're not supposed to have something electrical on animals like that, for whatever stupid reason.
Sorry, I just had to get silly with that. Carry on. Everything up until that last paragraph was actually serious.

Not anymore since the European Union, right.
Except if you want to go to Britain, then you still have to show your passport.
I'm.. 95 % Dutch, 5 % German. Something like that. Made a family tree, there are some German refugees from Napoleon's time about 8+ generations back.
There's a family rumour that we're part gypsy or Spanish, but I haven't found anything about that. But there is one unmarried mother in the familytree with unknown father, so... who knows.

As Dutch as can be. Though I think my great-grandmother was from India or Indonesia. I'd have to ask my dad about that.
I don't wear wooden shoes, I love cheese, there is not a windmill nearby where I live and I'd die if I never got to eat liquorice again. Oh, and I hate tulips. I smoke pot, and I've seen plenty of prostitutes in my life but I never actually went to one, cause well yeah, I am a woman for starters.
I think that about covered it.

Well both Mom and Dad are from Irish families-
So that would make me Irish:)
But when I consider "who" I really am....
I am married to an Italian/Spanish man from South America. So, I guess I am
also a little hispanic/latin/italian ...by injection:)
Customs: Whiskey on a cold night, laughing at myself, thinking the Irish Catholics of the world know more than anyone else....(hey it's in my blood)
and from my husband...loving red wine and this meat called Asado-Yum or Paella-yum.
(I seem to relate things to food and alcohol...

What's really sad is...I dont have much of an idea. my last name is Jones, which is Welsh I believe. I was always told our family was scotch/irish. My mother has a book of her family tree that dates back to the early 1800s but I never got a chance to look at it in depth. No one in my family seems to care too much about who was in our family in the past, where they came from, etc.

That sucks.
:( You should look at that book, I'd be stoked if we had a book.
My mom's family and my dad's family both came here at the same time, roughly 1918-1920, and both from Italy, so mine's pretty easy. What's even easier is that each of my great grandmas (mom's side and dad's) is from northern Italy, and each great grandpa is Sicilian. My parents are practically twins....

I love it too, but I just cant endulge in it anymore. Its involves alot of rice and greasy meats. I've lost 90 pounds since last Thanksgiving, and part of the reason why is b/c I have given up Cuban food. Now dont get me wrong, I do eat a bit every now and then, just not in the bucket-fulls I'd enjoy before...

French Canadian
Swedish
Russian or Polish
German
Scottish
The first four I am sure of the others I have been told but I don't know. My family wasn't so good at communicating the lineage. I believe that I am 25% Irish and 25% French Canadian and the rest are 12.5% or less.

I hear ya. All those sinful mouth-watering meats and sauces. I crave it just thinking and typing about it. I've had some amazing Cuban food in Chicago...my best friend was born in Havana...so of course had amazing homemade and restaurant experiences. There are some pretty good cuban restaurants here in L.A. too, much to my surprise.
As you said, light and trim it's not. Certainly great for "treat" times.

Even though I'm half Italian, I definitely take after the Irish side. I'm pasty white and burn (then peel) very easily. I have to wear, like, SPF 1000! ;) I never get much of a tan at all.
