Love the Potter books. I've read them all. Goblet Of Fire is still my favourite though.
I've seen the new Harry Potter movie as well and it too is by far the best. Surprisingly funny, really exciting in places and quite dark I can imagine little kids will find it very scary. I'm crossing my fingers Mike Newell will come back to direct the next one, he's done such a fantastic job with GOF.
When is the US release?

When is the US release?
Friday, November 18th. I just got tickets tonight for an advanced screening through work. It looks like it's going to be really good.

Oh, I can't wait. There is no way I'll be able to resist this movie, it looks really cool, and the book was excellent. The whole cup thing looks like it's going to make for some kick ass scenes. And the fact that two foreign schools come to stay with them?! Ho****! Oh, and the whole thing with people and their foreign girl/boy friends and stuff?
I'm not usually so excited about movies like this, but...:blob2:
Edit - I've just read you've seen it, Sharon. From what you say it sounds as good as I'd hoped. :)

it on the morning of the 18th (11AM), And avoid the huge crowds that will show up later that day.
Hell, Deb is in the front room watching the Chamber of Secrets even as I type this post (I'm watching "Philadelphia" in the bedroom).

I love the books and have read them several times. The movies are kinda annoying me lately though. Too many changes, IMO.
P.S. Michael Gambon blows as Dumbledore. Big time.

Ian McKellen (Gandalf) should be Dumbledore, no question.
Sharon, lucky you!
I started reading by the time movie 3 was out but I'm hooked now.
I can't wait until the movie comes here. Saw Daniel Radcliffe on a talkshow last friday (Jonathan Woss), what a cutie!
IMDB.com (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0330373/releaseinfo) has the release dates for different countries, btw.

Well I much prefer the new Dumbledore to the prior one. Dumbledore came across to me in the books as lively and loud, not feeble and murmuring.
Ian McKellen would have been good too but that would be just too confusing.
Speaking of old men with white hair from LOTR, I'm surprised that Christopher Lee hasn't managed a role in the HP movies yet, but no doubt he will before they're over!

Yes!! That one scene in Ghost is sooooo hot! Let's fire up the kilns, baby! We can make decorative ashtrays for all of our relatvies for Christmas!
Oh, wait, Potter? No, I'm not really into that whole thing...

I read the books as soon as they're released. I liked the first two movies but the third one was blah. Then again four hours would have been needed to do the book justice.
BTW does anyone know whether it's true that JK Rowling has announced there would be 8 books instead of 7? Or is this just another rumor flying around?

the 7th is the last and final book.
Though, JK Rowling has said she thought it would be interesting to see how Harry & friends would behave in the world as adults (That's if Harry doesnt die in the 7th book, which could still be a possibility.)...So who knows?

Aww chucks. I was starting to believe the rumors after finishing "The Half-Blood Prince". I just can't see how she'll be able to resolve all the dangling plotlines in the 7th book unless it will be 2000+ pages long.
