I've went over these two concerts this past week, during transferring, and found they are the same concert, but I don't think it's either city listed. At the very end, when the speaker is talking to the audience, he says that Peter Frampton is up next.
I checked the Legacy's comments, and old newsgroup posts, and the only concerts I see where they played on the same stage as Frampton in '75, are the two Oakland concerts, one being "A Day On The Green".
Is it possible that that's what this concert actually is?

Is it possible that that's what this concert actually is?I doubt it's something from Oakland, & I really doubt it's the San Diego Balboa Stadium show, Lisa. Some people take their old tapes & then pass them around with new venues or new dates on them in an attempt to beef up their trading stock. It's dirty but true.

Maybe some Frampton fans can tell you whether he played South Orange on October 13, 1975.

Thanks for the input, Dave. :)
Now I have to search for Frampton fans.

Wait. Forgot to add something. Stevie says something along the lines of "this is very....wonderful. For Lindsey and I, this is our home." Doesn't she only do that with San Francisco or Oakland?

Now I have to search for Frampton fans. :lol:You'd think Fleetwood Mac -- if they took themselves seriously -- would have put their old tour itineraries on the Live album or something. Instead, they leave it all for us to dig up, year after year.

And then they stick things like Screecher on their reissues. The combined IQ in Fleetwood Mac is probably about 200. I simply can't take this group seriously anymore.

Well, if that is true, it means that there's probably video footage out there of Stevie and Lindsey singing Frozen Love live, but honestly, I doubt that!

I remember my cut-out of Fleetwood Mac Live had an itinerary on the record sleeve, but I don't know how complete that was, and that record "walked" with one of my roommates.
One would think their official site would have their history, it is too bad they haven't done that.

Doesn't she only do that with San Francisco or Oakland? :confused:You're just trying to make a fool of me, aren't you! Do they really say that? They would only say that for Bay Area (or in some cases Los Angeles area).

Are you SURE they say that?

They played Oakland for two shows in the first week of August '75. I can't believe it's those shows that have been going around for years as "South Orange NJ" -- surely you share my incredulity.

I get so excited with this stuff! My heart starts pumping faster, my pulse starts racing, I start to sweat a little on my back & forehead, my eyes dilate, my sight & sense of smell become sharper, more acute -- my mind races with thoughts & visions of archangels descending at the command of my voice, only to scatter like fireworks over the cities of the plain.

But it's that ol' Combined IQ of 200 Syndrome. The people in that band are dumb & have always been dumb (although Bob Welch was slightly sharper).

South Orange sound quality is so bad it is nearly unlistenable.

I'm being very serious, or I wouldn't have bothered posting it. The exact quote from Stevie, right before Blue Letter starts, is: "This is really, umm...special, for Lindsey and I, cause this is our home. So thanks!"
And, yeah, I know this has been circulating for years as South Orange, and to find out there 's a good possibility that along it's been one of the Oakland concerts, is...surreal.
And, I have checked five times with Audition, amping that clip, and that is exactly what she says.

I got a B/B- copy from a trader and did some sound editing. With the right amount of amping and de-clicking, it actually does sound listenable.

You have done a lot of great detective work in the past -- you are becoming second only to me in terms of live show detective work of the Buckingham years. So now the next step is to start listing as a "possible California show" & then to check with Frampton fans for Frampton itineraries.

First off, thanks for the compliment Dave. It's very appreciated, especially coming from you.
Secondly...an update.
I just found the concert is definitely Oakland. At the end of Rhiannon, Stevie screams out "Oakland!" The only date I found where Frampton played after the Mac, is August 2nd, 1975.
If you want a slowed down clip of Stevie saying Oakland, let me know.

If you want a slowed down clip of Stevie saying Oakland, let me know.It was one of the Bill Graham Days On The Green festivals -- the first one Lindsey & Stevie ever played with the Mac. And I believe it also ran August 3. Frampton, Dave Mason & Robin Trower were on the bill.

Sure, I'd love to hear the slowed-down clip of Stevie saying Oakland! Henceforth, Lisa, I'm going to label my South Orange "Oakland Aug. 2/3"!! I love you!!

Now I'm beginning to think that the mystery "Frozen Love" generally tacked on to this show might be South Orange -- how else would you get such a ridiculously bizarre locale out of the blue?

However, South Orange is still dated as Oct. 13, so unless the date is wrong, that seems mighty late in the touring that year to be playing Frozen Love, especially given the fact that it is played & sung exactly like the Oakland Frozen Love (which indicates probably that it's from a show that same week or two).

Here's the info I found for the two August dates:

8/2/75 Oakland Col. (CC)
Dave Mason
Fleetwood Mac
Peter Frampton

8/3/75 Oakland Stadium
Robin Trower
Peter Frampton/Dave Mason
Fleetwood Mac/Gary Wright
Notes: Dog #3 (7) "The British Are Coming"

I managed to find a page with almost every Bill Graham related show ever done. :D
Considering Frampton plays after the Mac on this one, my guess would be the 8/2 date, but that's if all the artists are listed in order.

Here's the link for the Oakland scream, which is actually Lindsey:

With a good enough ear, and slowed down you can make out OakLAND.

I managed to find a page with almost every Bill Graham related show ever done. :D Share page please. My info is essentially the same: two shows, August 2 & 3, Oakland Coliseum, lineup: Dave Mason, Peter Frampton, Robin Trower & Fleetwood Mac on the 2nd; Dave Mason, Peter Frampton, Robin Trower & Gary Wright on the 3rd (probably Wright played both dates with the rest of them). Fleetwood Mac would have been pretty low on the bill, if not actually at the bottom, at this point in 1975. You know what's weird is this review from the following year's festival:

http://img467.imageshack.us/img467/986/dayonthegreenreview9iv.th.jpg (http://img467.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dayonthegreenreview9iv.jpg)

The review calls the 1976 DotG the first one. What gives? It's also cool to see that essentially the same lineups played both years, & Gary Wright played with Fleetwood Mac on the Oakland bills THREE years in a row. It would be very interesting to get in touch with him for anecdotes -- surely after sharing the bill with Mac for three years in a row, he'd have plenty of good stories to tell. Somebody hunt down Gary Wright!!
Considering Frampton plays after the Mac on this one, my guess would be the 8/2 date, but that's if all the artists are listed in order.I don't think we can trust that listing to be the actual order of performance. If Frampton & Mason were bigger than Mac in August 1975 (& I have a sneaking suspicion they were), they would have played after Mac on both days.

Did you see the flyer for the '76 DotG 2nd show added?

Notice how it says "Oakland Stadium" instead of Oakland Coliseum? I think misprints -- even on concert flyers -- just abound.

So as far as I know, Fleetwood Mac with Buckingham & Nicks played three Days on the Green festivals in a row (1975, 1976, 1977). Did they play any with Welch? How far back do these festivals go?

Sorry to jump in so late...I actually was at the San Diego Balboa Stadium show in 1975. I know Frampton didn't play (although I did see him at Balboa Stadium during the Frampton Comes Alive tour) and from what I remember Rod Stewart, Loggins and Messina and Lynyrd Skynyrd did play. My memory is really bad from that show - I was in high school and I really only remember the hot sun, being high, sitting on the grass, and Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill - OUCH!!

I'm not sure how far back the DOTG concerts go, but here's the link I found with the Bill Graham related shows: http://www.sugarmegs.org/billgrahm.txt.
A lot are just concerts and other fests like the US Fests and Winterland, but they have Mac dates going back to the late '60's.
I didn't find any listed with the Mac and Bob Welch, but it lists the Cal Expo '78. Of course, that was just Stevie and Mick with him.
I can't believe all the misprints on reviews and flyers. Oh wait, it was the '70's and drugs were everywhere. Maybe that explains it.

Thanks for the updated info. I've re-labeled my San Diego/South Orange copy as Oakland, CA August 2/3 1975. I've always wondered if this October date was correct since the set list was so different from the other boots from Fall 1975...Frozen Love, Jumping At Shadows, Say You Love Me, etc.
