God knows I need to be reading King Lear, but geez, that is so damn depressing and though this subject isn't all that cheery, either, I wanted to bring it up. [/gratuitous intro]
A few people were discussing this on livejournal. The topic has been talked to death in reference to La Nicks but not Chris, or at least not to my knowledge.
Has she had work done? I usually don't think of this unless it's very obvious to me or someone points it out. People change as they age and so I rarely think in those terms. Someone said that Chris has had a lot done. Well, perhaps I'm in denial, a somewhat natural state for me.
What do y'all think?

Someone said that Chris has had a lot done.Oh, heck yeah -- for the Shake the Cage Tour. The saggy skin in the face was tightened up: the chin, the neck, the bags under the eyes, maybe even the nose. Chris, not Stevie, was the sex symbol on the 1987 tour, & she kept up that svelte, youthful look on the 1990 tour.

Since I'm supposed to be writing my judicial opinion, I'll join you.:D
I think it is very obvious when Christine came back for the Dance that she had work done. And she may have had some done earlier, I don't know - it seems so.
But yeah, I would agree that it could be "a lot". Although a lot could be one giant everything lift before the Dance.

Christine and Stevie don't even look like the same people on the cover to that album.
I was always under the impression that she had work done in the mid-eighties. Just look at pictures from the Mirage years next to ones from the Tango years. Homegirl employed a lovely plastic surgeon. Great work.

yes, I thought so too, but I wasn't sure. So, what, she's had two or three? Not uncommon, but if so, like you said, I want her surgeon when the time comes.

I don't know if she had work just prior to The Dance. On the DVD, she looks how I expected her to look, so who knows. It doesn't look like a freshly pulled face to these eyes, but I could be wrong. I think Stevie is the one who had some freshening up around that time, whereas Christine had it done years earlier.
In any case, she most definitely had a God for a surgeon.

I can't recall how many people I heard comment that Chris looked better during the Dance era than during the 70s. She did look great.

Man, I bet that's a long waiting list.
Hmm, good point. The reason it's hard for me to tell is that I'm not sure I've seen a lot of pics specifically from between what? - 1993-1997? Around that? I'm sure there are some, but I haven't specifically been able to compare. But she almost looks as good on Dance as she did on Tango, and that, IMO, is suspicious. The Christine style/look timeline isn't as finely honed in my mind as the Stevie one; it's more difficult for me to judge.
I agree about Stevie.

I think she had maybe two....something done for the mid/late 80's (although I think another big change was that she also lost quite a bit of weight) and then maybe a face lift/eye job before the Dance. She looked pretty darn tight for that tour. :p Compare those pics to the ones on the Time album, and there's a serious difference. Good doctors though...I'm sure she could afford the best.

The cover picture? I think it's sexy. One of my favourites of her, actually. Stevie looks a bit weird, though.
She's had work done, clearly, but by the best. Both her and Stevie look good. I think it'd be a shame if they'd gone to extremes; they're both very naturally pretty women. I agree that she did look different during the BTM tour. As much as I love Christine, there were times in the seventies were she didn't look that great.Could be the lifestyle, but she definitely looks much better now. Classier, IMO. I don't think she's had *a lot* done... just enough. :)
Now if only we could do something about the airbrushing on the ITM cover!

Now if only we could do something about the airbrushing on the ITM cover!Oh, I know. It is gorgeous but the airbrushing was so unnecessary! Of course I'm not saying anything new.
I just find myself wondering how both ladies would look had they not had work done, regardless of how much was done. I can't imagine I wouldn't still find them very, very attractive. I find myself wondering why they needed to do any of that. I guess they never needed to; they just have money and were/are in the spotlight and so it seemed like the thing to do.

I think it may be the eye makeup. She's wearing more than usual.... the edges are heavily lined. Then she's not wearing any lipstick, or if she is, a very natural colour, and it makes her eyes stand out more. In a weird way though. Hmm.
I still think they'd be attractive, but probably not in the way the media wants them to be. You know?

Interesting topic.;) A few days ago, we discussed Christine's sterilization...we might as well now discuss her plastic surgery. I think she had something done before the Tango tour. I remember seeing her on TV right as the album was coming out & I couldn't believe how amazing she looked. She looked so much better than she had around 1982-1984. I thought then that she'd had something done. As Lis mentioned, she lost some weight & she also stopped doing drugs around this time. She just doesn't look very healthy around the Mirage/1984 time. She looked fantastic during the Tango/BTM tours. I believe she had something done after Time & before the Dance. If you compare those few Time pictures that we have to all of the Dance pictures of her, you can see that there's no way she didn't have something done. She had a very skillful plastic surgeon, in my opinion. Whoever it was & whatever she had done, she looks fantastic.

I posted this on another message board, but this is the picture they should have used for the cover of In The Meantime. I LOVE this picture. I think she looks gorgeous! It's far better than that fake, airbrushed cover picture that they used.

The album cover? I think that looks weird not because of any work anybody'd had done, but because it seems like the airbrushed the **** out of it.
It's a metaphor for all of the overdubs they put on the actual album...

hmm......maybe its me in denial but i never thought it looked like she had anything done, she still looks natural, so i guess it must have been very little, which is good i agree with you, because i think chris is naturally beautiful!!! 60s, 70s, 80s whatever, she always has that natural beauty to me, im glad she didnt do anything too extreme! or it wouldnt be our chris!!!!:distress: she did a good job actually at making whatever it was subtle, so its still her!:D

I like that one, too. My favourite is the first one in the booklet. Cute, and natural. Always a plus.
When I brought my CD downstairs, my dad took one look at the cover and said, "That doesn't look a thing like her!" Duh.
I also like this other one, that wasn't included in the CD thing. My friend and I always have a laugh over where she's um, pointing. Immature, us?

I always just thought the album cover was incredibly touched up, and I can't completely tell by watching the video either due to the soft lighting. Speaking of the video, I think there was major oil on the lense for most of the shots of Stevie .

Yes, Christine looked amazing on the BTM tour. Stevie was totally out of it when I saw them at Madison Square Garden. Christine was totally connecting with audience and she looked radiant. I never thought to look if she had any surgery, I wish I would've, from my second row seat -lol. Even so the lighting is always complimenting to Chris and Stevie, provided they look well too.
