Forget Jessi Nicks....This right here shocked me:
-Larsen wrote more than 30 songs with longtime Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, which were intended to be used for a duo-collaborative album titled "The Gift of Screws." Although legal battles ensued and the pair's friendship dissolved, Larsen emerged with copyright ownership over the majority of the pieces.
30 songs?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

"Larsen had attempted two Betty Ford detox stints for a long-standing cocaine addiction that destroyed his abborated left nasal septum. In November, 2004, Larsen was hospitalized for a near-fatal drug overdose on the tranquilizers Valium and Klonopin, but claims to have emerged "clean" as of January, 2005."
Perhaps he reminds Jessie of her aunt!!!!

That is just bizarre. He released his first album at age 11?
He's only 19, yet he's been linked romantically to Lisa Loeb AND Jessica Nicks (which would constitute statuatory rape if they slept together)? 30 songs with Lindsey, and we've never heard of him? And the connections to the whole Stevie world are creepy - cocaine addiction and buring out part of his nose, the klonopin use, 2 stints at Betty Ford, a link to Lindsey, and all the way down at the bottom of the bio... he's "endorsed" by the Indian incense, nag champra.
And if you link to his homepage... eeeeeks... this kid is creepy looking...

I wonder who paid that legal bill. In theory LB's label at the time, Warner I think, could have, but they may have insisted on owning the rights as compensation.
This also raises the question of the credibility of LB's story that he shopped GOS to the label and they were no very interested due to a change in management, etc. Ordinarily, no label is going to want to touch or put money into property in litigation, much less on a star with little comparative selling power. This is a rather fascinating twist on things that lead to the shelving of GOS and the creation of SYW. This is also rather fascinating considering LB must have won the suit because I believe he considered all those songs for SYW and he said in DR that he owned the masters. Finally, that suit could have cost him millions to win esp. if that win resulted in LB buying out Larsen.
I wonder if legal documents were actually filed. I googled and came up with nothing.
Does anyone know anything more about this?
On a total random thing, the google search revealed this here in the Vito Q&A section:
Hi! I have two questions.... First of all, do you have a current relationship with Stevie, Mick, John, or Christine? Secondly, where can I find out more information about what you are doing today? Have you seen my webpage, Big Love? (Brian Larsen, Laurel, Maryland)
I occasionally speak with Stevie. As you might know, I went out on her Street Angel tour a few years back and would love to work with her again. She is very special. I ran into Mick on the street with Peter Green's manager this past year. We don't keep in close touch but it's always great to see him. I have not have much contact with John or Christine in recent years but I certainly wish them both well. I see Billy Burnette most often because we live close to each other and I plan to see his new band play soon.. You can go to http://www.rickvito.com/ if you would like more information as to what I'm doing. Currently I've been working on my own music and touring with Bonnie Raitt. I just completed work also on Bob Seger's new CD also. I'll check out Big Love soon.

Well, wikipedia is written by net users, to wit:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/internet/11/01/wikipedia.reut/index.html
Wikipedia may go to print
NEW YORK, New York (Reuters) -- Entries from Wikipedia, the popular free online encyclopedia written and edited by Internet users, may soon be available in print for readers in the developing world, founder Jimmy Wales said on Monday.
He said content from the Web site may also be burned onto CDs and DVDs so computer users in places like Africa, who lack access to high-speed Internet, could consult parts of the reference work offline.
Wales also described as incorrect reports, one of them from Reuters, that certain pages of the Wikipedia could be subject to tightened controls or "frozen" for good to prevent vandals and pranksters from tampering with them.
"We are talking to several agents and publishers about what they would be interested in," Wales said of the book project.
He cited health, football and histories of World War Two or rock 'n' roll as examples of how entries could be grouped into subjects.
"I have always liked the idea of going to print because a big part of what we are about is to disseminate knowledge throughout the world and not just to people who have broadband," Wales said by telephone from St. Petersburg, Florida.
Issues like funding, distribution and topics were still being discussed but a first printed work could be ready from mid-2006, he added.
Wales, a 39-year-old former options trader, set up Wikipedia in 2001. The site operates through the Wikimedia Foundation, a nonprofit organization that relies on donations to pursue its goal of spreading knowledge for free.
The reference work uses "Wiki" software, which gives anyone with access to the Internet the opportunity to edit any page.
Some 350,000 people have contributed terms, background, context or simply corrected spellings for more than 2 million Wikipedia entries in more than 25 active languages. About 800,000 entries are in English.
Wales, an American, said a core group of around 2,000 contributors did the bulk of the work and formed the backbone of the Wikipedia "community."
In August, Germany's Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper quoted Wales as saying that "controls" could be tightened to protect potentially sensitive pages of Wikipedia. Reuters picked up the report and, in translating sections of it, said some pages could be "frozen" in perpetuity.
"The idea that we are going to tighten our editorial 'rules' is completely not correct (and) the articles would not be frozen in perpetuity," Wales said. He said he had been misinterpreted and mistranslated.
Wales said new software would be deployed from the end of the year that would allow changes to very active pages which might be prone to vandalism to appear on the site with a time delay, so members of the community could review them.
Enthusiasts had also been discussing whether to create "stable" versions of certain pages that would stand as the most recent reliable entry on a given topic.
These would be available behind the latest contributed version and would also be updated as necessary, Wales said.

I already posted this in the thread on Lindsey's board, but thought I'd post it here as well.
I'm wondering if the same person who wrote Brian Larsen's Wikipedia entry contributed to Lindsey's as well? Lindsey's also lists a connection:
Rejoining Fleetwood Mac
While assembling material for his yet to be released fourth solo album in the late 90's, Buckingham contacted Fleetwood for assistance on a song. Eventually all of the other members who were in the band during Buckingham's tenure got together and arranged for the reunion tour that was called, The Dance. After co-writing a song for famed producer Brian Larsen's "ClockWork" album, Larsen and Buckingham began collaborating together on new material for a yet-unfinished album entitled "The Gift of Screws." Buckingham is currently married and has three children. His brother was an olympic medalist, and Lindsey played for a collegiate water polo team.

I remember that now that I think about it.
Also, there is some guy that was on tour around the country with a bunch of alleged Stevie memorabilia (dresses, albums, shawls, boots, etc. ) that he set up in little fairs and flea markets or stalls in small towns and claimed that he knew Stevie. Then, he had this video of Stevie from other interviews that he spliced with his own footage of himself to make it look like he was asking her the questions and she was answering him back. I was fightening when I saw it in Lafayette, LA a few years ago.

yeah now that i think more about it- i think it was either late 2000 or early 2001 that he was hanging around here talking about his ****... his first post was something like "i am a songwriter and have cowritten songs with lindsey, buy my album blah blah blah" and everyone was like "oh wow!! cool!!" and some went and bought the album from whatever website he was selling it on. occasionally he posted just like, as a fan, and would talk about stuff we talk about on the ledge... his SN was "twilightsmoon" (i theeeenk) and i have just searched for him and it seems he has either deleted himself or i was just wrong and his SN was something else...
funny thing, he NOW has updated all his info to say he cowrote all these gift of screws songs with lindsey... but when he was here almost 5 yrs ago he mentioned NOTHING of gift of screws... funny thing, the gift of screws stuff didn't leak until spring or summer 2001, so.. the liar didn't know about GOS yet, thus, didn't mention it. the f*cker is so full of **** and i feel sorry for any fans of lindsey or FM who bought into it and actually boght this little f*cker's album. i think his age has changed, too. when he was here 5 yrs ago i think he told us he was older than 14... maybe he has found the fountain of youth and just hasn't aged!

And uh...Bleed to Love Her....can Lindsey sue him or did LB give him permission to sing that on his "album"?
Lemme say again...What the hell?!?!
Wait, where can I hear this?

The reviews are even better! I wonder who really wrote this one:
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WORK I HAVE EVER HEARD!, November 21, 2000
Reviewer: Richard Farnsworth (Oregon) - See all my reviews
This album touched me so close when I first bought it. I was recently overcoming the death of my two children when I bought "The Slope". The music made me realize that there was more in life than one's self. I was at the brink of self destruction, but the down to earth beauty of this made me climb back into reality. I love this album, and it goes into my lists of all time favorites.

Lindsey has been working on the GoS songs since 1994/95?/ This kid was ten years old then. LB started working on SYW in 2001....when this kid was 15 or 16. That entire thing about LB is bull****. Does anyone really believe that LB would cowrite 30 songs with a ten or twelve year old? Come on.
This person is full of ****..........OMG.. I do remember this poptart. I think he said he was 14 back in 2000 or so?

People like this, or that guy trolling around the Ledge 2 right now (you know who I mean)... yikes. They need some serious help. Fast.

Not quite sure what's funny about that. But who is this dude? I didn't know Jessi was really old enough to date unless it was really recently. Really really weird. I'm open about music but I don't like the sh*t I heard on Amazon.

It's funny because given the other lies he's been spilling, i'm sure he's lying about that as well. I mean, how low can this kid get?

How could I not? Clearly he's a compulsive liar and or schizophrenic fictionalizing a realtionship with members of Fleetwood Mac in order to make a name for himself and more than likely, to bring himself closer to his idols in doing so. Creepy. He's like the boy who cried wolf. Even if he did post or say something remotely true, after all of the bull**** he's spilled on both this board and other areas, i'd have a rather difficult time believing that anything he said would have even marginal validity.

And a song called Close to Me. :distress:

-Larsen wrote more than 30 songs with longtime Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, which were intended to be used for a duo-collaborative album titled "The Gift of Screws." Although legal battles ensued and the pair's friendship dissolved, Larsen emerged with copyright ownership over the majority of the pieces.
Anyone else smell the pungent aroma of bull****?
This is all a joke, folks.

It's funny because given the other lies he's been spilling, i'm sure he's lying about that as well. I mean, how low can this kid get?Apparently, pretty low, given the fact that he & his creepy friends are taking money from sales of his albums, which contain copyrighted material on them -- material for which he does not own the copyright.
Simply, he is breaking the law.

I have one up on Mr. Larsen, though, because I've been writing songs with Deborah Harry since I was nothing but a fetus. Bitch hasn't sent me a single royalty check, so I feel his pain.

I remember this guy. It was not long after I joined in 2001 that he was talking about "the Slope" which he named after Lindsey's studio. Very freaky. Really, the notion that this guy could be legit in any way is absolutely laughable.

This all sounds like the current lies and promises and absurdity of the 2012 presidential wanna bees.
These true stories are written by the campaign managers...revealing the credentials and abilities to qualify....and you research...and find that Mitt Romney was never even near the Manger in Bethlehem on Christmas #1. But, who checks facts, right?
