View Full Version : Who plays the saxophone on "Thousand Days"?
All this talk about Enchanted disc 3, I just had to throw it on.
So who's that blowing the horn on this track? I think all the musician information was in the Enchanted booklet, but I don't have that with me.

Good lord, no. It's actually a decent sax solo, with oomph and feeling to it.
What did this unknown sax player ever do to you that you suggest he might be Kenny G?
People complain about the Stevie bashing around here, but that was just really mean...

There's no info included with the "Maybe Love" CD single either.
Since this is Steet Angel era, it might be Dave Koz who played the sax on "Destiny".

I always thought "Thousand Days" was recorded for Timespace. If you listen to her voice, it sounds more 1991 than 1994 -- and that's not a good thing! :sorry:

I always thought "Thousand Days" was recorded for Timespace. If you listen to her voice, it sounds more 1991 than 1994The fact that Chris Lord-Alge co-produced "Thousand Days" with Stevie, would seem to lend even more weight to that timeline theory... since he co-produced "Desert Angel" with her and remixed the songs for 'Timespace'... but Sara Fleetwood is credited alongside Lori and Sharon for backing vocals, and Stevie didn't record with her until 'Street Angel.'
Unless it was started in 1991 and not finished until 1993/94 (much like "Paper Doll" was started in '88 for 'Greatest Hits,' but not finished until '92 for 'The Chain', and "Reconsider Me" was started in '84 for 'Rock A Little,' but not finished until '98 for 'Enchanted')?

I have a radio interview from when she was touring for Timespace where she talks about already having done sessions for her upcoming album; I assume she's talking about Street Angel. The Street Angel master reels show that she was recording in '92, so she may have been recording in '91 as well.

Based on that, I decided to double-check the US copyright site, and this is what I found on "Thousand Days"....

So, either Chris Lord-Alge and Sara Fleetwood were both working with Stevie in the earliest stages of what became 'Street Angel,' even before Glynn Johns signed on, or the song was started before both Johns and Sara Fleetwood, but finished after he was gone and she was on board.
