in MY house, the only good spider is a DEAD spider.
if they are outside they get a free pass unless they are black widows, which all get killed ASAP. just because.

Don't kill it. Set up a delicious first course meal for him and lay it on your finest China. In due time, he will come out from his hole and feast. If it doesn't happen before you go to bed, you will need to set up another, even more tempting one. Cheesecake with cherry syrup perhaps. Just make sure it is large enough that he cannot finish it before you wake. If all goes as planned, he should be stilling feasting when you wake, allowing you plenty of time to pick up the plate and escort him outside to the neighbor's yard. Don't worry about him being frightened and running away when you go for the plate, unless you are a bad cook.
That's how I got rid of my ex.

If you can't find it, I would move. You know it knows you were trying to kill it, now it is somewhere dark watching you and planning on laying eggs in your ear when you go to sleep.

They're not as bad now, but when we first moved in we found one on a weekly basis. There was one under my son's bed that was bigger than a mayonase jar lid.

Oooh yeah, Wolf Spiders are nasty little SOB's. What you have there is a North Carolina Wolf Spider. Our's have slightly thicker legs I think. Thing is I never saw one my whole life until I was taking a shower at our first apartment. My eyes were closed because I was rinsing the soap out of my hair and when I opened them the thing was dangling right in my face!!! I like flew-mid air-through the shower curtain and out of the bathroom. What's really amusing is that you don't see them very often hanging from web, guess I'm just lucky, LOL!

They are very sneaky and they show up everywhere. They have huge metalic blue green fangs too. from what I hear it hurts like hell when they bite. I didn't even know we had spiders like that in Michigan until I saw that one in the shower. I totally flipped out, I seriously thought it was that movie Arachnophobia happening!

So how did you get rid of it? It seems way to big to squish. I mean, if I can see a spiders eyes, it's too big for me to get close enough to even hit it with a shoe. Well, as awful as that is, I'd take it over any kind of snake. I once had a first aid and safety class, and we were learning about what to do if you get bit by a snake. I raised my hand and asked when we would be covering what to do if you have a heart attack, because anyhow I get bit by a snake, I'm having one.

The one from the shower I called in reinforcements to handle. The one under my sons bed I grabbed a huge pair of his boots that didn't even fit him yet and I slapped the sucker down as hard as I could.....and the legs were sticking out of the bottom. The worst was this one in the basement, we were sitting there talking than my husband says "Don't move, just don't move I'll take care of it." It was like two feet from us and he went to hit it with a hammer, and missed!! It was horrible, the thing was zipping around this one foot radius and he was just wacking away missing it every time. Finally he got it and me and my sister in law were practically hanging from the floor boards by that point. You just have to ask yourself "Do I wanna kill it and get it over with, or do I wanna look in the mirror tomorrow morning and find it latched to my forhead?" When you look at it that way it'a alot easier, LOL! Now snakes I don't mind at all, I've played with them since I was little. I've been bit about a dozen times so it doesn't really phase me (garderner snakes ofcourse).

Ohh, the eyes. Don't even mention those. Reminds me of where my fear of spiders started!
Storytime, kids...
I was five or so, and we had some family reunion deal at the house. Relatives from my dad's side, anyway, and me, being bored with the grown-up festivities wandered into the toy room (aka the room where we stuffed all of our crap, and are now trying to turn into a library). I remember playing with Castle Grey Skull, or whatever, and then looking up only to see THE biggest spider I have seen to date. It was this gigantic yellow thing, probably about the size of a tennis ball, and I could see it's rows of eyes. And as if THAT wasn't bad enough, it was also clicking it's fangs at me. Probably not directly *at* me, but you know. Put me off of spiders forever. Actually, when I was in the third grade, we had an entire unit on Spiders, and for awhile, I got over the fear. After that, it started up again, and I've never been able to stand spiders since.

That sounds like a really weird-looking spider. Well, I don't have a story to justify my irrational fear of wasps. They just look really evil to me and for whatever reason, spiders don't. I got stung by a wasp a few years ago and realized that it wasn't the worst thing in the world but they still just drive me crazy when they get around me. I start doing a jig unintentionally.

Yeah, I've never seen one that big since. My only theory is that he was left alone in there for so long, and just managed to grow undisturbed. It was just... huge. Isn't that WEIRRRRD?

Speaking of wasps, my classroom was infested with them for the past two weeks. We had to relocate to another room twice before the custodians took care of them.

I can't believe those damned spiders. An exterminator I hired once told me he used to live in New Zealand. According to him there are spiders there the size of a salad plate that weave webs across streets that are so big that birds get caught in them. I don't know if I believe him or not. He said he had one in his house once and when it ran across the floor he thought it was a kitten.
