Or, if you just want single songs, I'm sure they're all available through iTunes for 99 cents each.

um... not to be mean or anything- but downloading commercially released music is not the coolest thing in the world- and i definitely wouldn't be telling people that you are doing it and asking for advice as to where you can find more. either go buy it from sam goody or best buy or some other place that sells cds... or buy the songs from itunes... and if you couldn't get itunes to work, you were probably doing something wrong- so reread the directions and try again. being a bitch is the last thing i want to do... but stealing from some of my favorite artists sort of bothers me. (yeah yeah, i know they're all rich anyway... but still... it's wrong) good luck :D

Seriously - try www.puretracks.com Single tracks there are about 99-cents each, too. I just checked for Eddie Money - they have it. I'm sure they have most of what you're looking for.

I'm with Jessica - I don't believe in downloading for free commercially available music. But we've had that argument around here enough times...

Don't take drugs, either.

either go buy it from sam goody or best buy or some other place that sells cds... or buy the songs from itunes... and if you couldn't get itunes to work, you were probably doing something wrong- so reread the directions and try again.

Or she could simply be using an operating system that doesn't support iTunes, in which case "rereading the directions" (are there any directions besides, "click on this link and download the application"?) wouldn't do much good.

being a bitch is the last thing i want to do... but stealing from some of my favorite artists sort of bothers me. (yeah yeah, i know they're all rich anyway... but still... it's wrong) good luck :D

Yeah yeah, they are rich, and half of them have sold those songs over and over again to corporations for commercials, so f*** 'em.

And she's not stealing from them. She's asking some friends to share their music with her, and only a few select tracks at that. If I owned all of those tracks and burned her a mix CD with all of them on it, there would be nothing at all illegal about that.

People, people. I think the more important issue here is how she could have listed *every* Billy Idol song, but left out Rebel Yell. It boggles the mind and defies reality as I know it.

Maybe she's already got it?

Billy Idol inexplicably played Lollapalooza this year in Chicago. It was great to see some of the hipsters in attendance let their guard down and surrender to the sheer power of Billy's abs.

I find it intensely amusing that you'd make this comment after being snarky about me saying the same thing just a few days ago!

HA! It was funny. He did a signing at the Virgin tent that day and you should've seen some of those hipsters flipping their wig when they got to talk to him.

Please. The Ronettes song, "Be My Baby," that he sampled on there is obviously better. Download (or purchase!) that instead. Ronnie Spector is awesome. =]

No, the operating system for your computer. Mine, for example, is Windows XP.

iTunes is only compatible with certain operating systems. For example, my old computer had Windows Millennium Edition, and iTunes wouldn't work on it.

Then you've got some kind of firewall in place, though it's odd that it would be set up be so strong that you couldn't download something to completely safe and corporate-sponsored as iTunes.
