Check out the photo of Condoleezza Rice that was published by USA Today last week (http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2005-10-19-rice-congress_x.htm)

<img src="http://michellemalkin.com/archives/images/condi.jpg">

Notice anything peculiar about her eyes?

No, Condi isn't possessed; the photo was manipulated

found a pre-doctored version of the Associated Press photo on Yahoo! España (http://es.news.yahoo.com/19102005/24/foto/secretary-of-state-condoleezza-rice-looks-on-during-joint-news.html):

<img src="http://michellemalkin.com/archives/images/realcondi.jpg">

Unbelievable. Robert George points to another example of malicious photoshopping of a black Republican official. (http://raggedthots.blogspot.com/2005/10/why-i-am-not-democrat-part-2.html)

Update:

USA TODAY REMOVES DOCTORED PHOTO

The doctored photo of Condi Rice has been removed from USA Today's website with this editor's note:

Editor's note: The photo of Condoleezza Rice that originally accompanied this story was altered in a manner that did not meet USA TODAY's editorial standards. The photo has been replaced by a properly adjusted copy. Photos published online are routinely cropped for size and adjusted for brightness and sharpness to optimize their appearance. In this case, after sharpening the photo for clarity, the editor brightened a portion of Rice's face, giving her eyes an unnatural appearance. This resulted in a distortion of the original not in keeping with our editorial standards.

while I'm thinking about it, Condi needs to walk, no, run to her nearest Macy's or something and have a makeunder. IMO, it's hard for women of color to wear makeup the way most women of a lighter skin tone do. blush is the hardest to pull off and good lord, that red lipstick...whew -

Minorities are conditioned to rely on the government. I have a friend who works for one of my local news stations, and is recently back from NOLA. He called me and told me not to send one dime to the Red Cross! He said that most of the people down there are fifth generation welfare recipients...and they didn't want to WALK DOWN THE STREET to the Red Cross for ANYTHING! They wanted them to bring it straight to them. There are HELP WANTED signs everywhere in businesses opening up...but they don't want that! They want the government to do everything for them!

Also, you know nothing of welfare and need to research the issue, which you will never do outside of listening to idiots who would not know the truth if it bit them. Well, no. RR was a neo conservative who used, inter alia, Christianity as a wedge to win.

Again, if no govt. interference is the goal, as you have stated it is, then why should the govt. define or sanction marriage in any way. Wouldn't not defining or sanctioning it lessen the interference in our lives? Moreover, as pointed out by the atni-gay marriage people, contracts can supply almost all of the rights inherently given to one group by the govt. but not the other. So, why not take it out completely and, thus, interfer less in our lives. That way Churches can marry whatever people they want as they do now.

That's not being argued against. I'm correcting Mr. Brown Eyes' false statement regarding black women and Clinton (which came right out of Ann Coulter's mouth, BTW). Pay attention!

He also wins in terms of judicial appointments. Shrub looks absolutely pitiful next to Clinton in that arena.

No, she just said he was lucky to get his limbs blown off in Vietnam as opposed to elsewhere. And where were W and Cheney at this time

But and in any event, here is what she said, though she said other things as well:

Coulter countered that Cleland is no Vietnam war hero, just a victim of a tragic, accidental grenade explosion who plays up his amputations for political gain.

“If Cleland had dropped a grenade on himself at Fort Dix rather than in Vietnam, he would never have been a U.S. Senator in the first place. Maybe he’d be the best pharmacist in Atlanta,” Coulter said in her column, published on February 11.

“He didn't ‘give his limbs for his country,’ or leave them ‘on the battlefield,’” Coulter said. “There was no bravery involved in dropping a grenade on himself with no enemy troops in sight.”

http://www.11alive.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=42941

Again, everyone in Nam was a hero as opposed to the AWOL W and "better things to do" Cheney

Also - just to make you look like more of a moron than you make yourself look like:

The 2nd of the 12th Cavalry was engaged in a combat operation at the time of this incident. Max Cleland was with the Battalion Forward Command Post in heavy combat involving the attack of the 1st Cavalry Division up the valley to relieve the Marines who were besieged and surrounded at the Khe Shan Firebase. The whole surrounding area was an active combat zone (some might call the entire country of Vietnam a combat zone). (Is Iraq a combat zone?) Max, the Battalion Signal Officer, was engaged in a combat mission I personally ordered to increase the effectiveness of communications between the battalion combat forward and rear support elements: e.g. Erect a radio relay antenna on a mountain top. By the way, at one point the battalion rear elements came under enemy artillery fire so everyone was in harms way.

As they were getting off the helicopter, Max saw the grenade on the ground and he instinctively went for it. Soldiers in combat don't leave grenades lying around on the ground. Later, in the hospital, he said he thought it was his own but I doubt the concept of "ownership" went through his mind in the split seconds involved in reaching for the grenade. Nearly two decades later another soldier came forward and admitted it was actually his grenade. Does ownership of the grenade really matter? It does not.

No you miss the point...

E-mail to New York Times ombudsman and letter to the editor, which the Times did not print...

..."I simply pointed out that the same people who are demanding George Bush's dental records from his Alabama National Guard service are routinely "sexing up" Max Cleland's record in order to smear Bush's service and the National Guard. Liberals falsely claim Cleland lost his limbs in combat rather than in an accident. Fantastically enough, Stolberg actually quotes an academic in her article - Merle Black of Emory - who repeats the standard lie, claiming Cleland lost his limbs in "battle." My point was that the truth of Cleland's own accident demonstrates the bravery of all members of the military who routinely come into contact with ordnance."

The point was, is, and always will be that Ann Coulter attacked a man who lost three limbs in Vietnam while serving honorably - she viciously attacked him by distorting the truth. Why did she do this? Well, she wanted to take heat off of W, who went AWOL, and Cheney who had better things to do than serve his country. Is it that hard to see that?

I mean it does not rub you the wrong way that she belittled and demeaned a man who was serving in Vietnam honorably? On edit - she did the same thing to Kerry. I mean Kerry volunteered to go to Nam and served honorably and was heavily decorated for it. Then what is the point, other what I stated. Enlighten and thrill me with your acumen

[/QUOTE]

Well what is the point. After reading "Cleland Drops a Political Grenade" if you take from it something entirely different than what she intended, then how am I going to "enlighten" you or change your mind its pointless...isn't it?

P.S. You can use poly-syllabic words if you know any :wavey:

:xoxo: See there is that invective that I love. But everyone gets touchy when I use it!

Called out and for - and couldn't come.

You lose. Do you not get tired of this state because I cannot remember you ever winning a factual argument here - EVER

The point is you are wrong because the facts do not support you. They never do. I could care a less about changing your mind. I just care about being correct, which I am. Yet, when called out to admit that, you change the topic

To what...Ice fishing?

No, I'm right...but you just want me to continue this pointless argument so it will somehow validate your claims about the intent of the column.

Max Cleland = lost his limbs. This does not make him a war hero. And liberals lied about it.

:wavey: See you in another thread Jason!

The fact that he was there at all makes him a hero.

But, you will never admit that no matter how true it is.

Reagan, a man who supported apartheid, is a hero. Max Cleland, a man who served in Vietnam and lost limbs while serving, is not a hero. Get it straight.

It's not really important!

So the White house is going to be rid of a man who is named Scooter? Oh, and the poor Democrats think that will ACTUALLY bring down the Bush administration! I didn't even know who the man was until like 20 minutes ago...I don't think anyone did!

I expect BIG gloating from the dems.

It was a joke! Of course I knew who he was. But I don't think anyone really did before the whole "leak" investigation. And I don't see this as being very important in terms of the Bush admin. or the running of the country.

It's important because it's the tip of the iceberg that is the conspiracy and lies that led up to the Iraq War.

Ding ding ding! You get a cookie, Ken. The administration is nothing but a rotting corpse at the moment. It compromises their USSC nomination, it compromises the ongoing conflict in Iraq, it compromises all of the "political capital" that Bush clamied to have after the election, etc. The list is ongoing. Not to mention that the investigation isn't even over. Take solace in the fact that this will still be in the news (the trial, any further grand jury developments and indictments) next year during the elections, along with DeLay and Frist. They were punked with Harriet Miers, devastated by Katrina, their administration is imploding, and it's safe to say that they're pretty much doomed at the moment.

We're trying to make sense of why 2000 US troops and countless Iraqi citizens
are dead. So yeah, when the people who are responsible for that start to go down, it's a good day.
