I know it's a long shot, but is this song about Stevie Nicks? It hit #1 in November 1975, & I think it's about Stevie, who was a newfound star then. Even the music has little traces of Rhiannon in it.

Fly, Robin, Fly
Silver Convention

Fly, robin fly
Fly, robin fly
Fly, robin fly
Up, up to the sky

Fly, robin fly
Fly, robin fly
Fly, robin fly
Up, up to the sky

Fly, robin fly
Fly, robin fly
Fly, robin fly
Up, up to the sky

If it was on the charts in November 1975, it had to have been recorded much earlier. Stevie Nicks was STILL just an insignificant blip on the radar screen of stardom at that point...it wasn't until "Rhiannon" was released as a single just after the first of the year that put her in the spotlight.

It could ONLY be about Stevie;-)

Actually, I always assumed it was about drugs or disco or both.

The Boston song is actually, "LET Me Take You Home Tonight." ....and while I'm stuck in the 70's... if you play the 12" vinyl of "So Into You," by the Atlantic Rhythm Section, on 45, it sounds like Stevie is singing. :D

Now I'm not like this, I'm really kind of shy
But I get this feeling whenever you walk by
I don't wanna down you, I wanna make you high
If you you could see your way to me, come on and let me try.

Let me take you home tonight
Mamma now it's alright
Let me take you home tonight
I'll show you sweet delight.

You must understand this, I've watched you for so long
that I feel I've known you, I know it can't be wrong
If we just get together, I want to make you see
I'm dreaming of your sweet love tonight, so mamma let it be

Let me take you home tonight
Mamma now it's alright
Let me take you home tonight
I'll show you sweet delight.

I don't wanna make excuses, I don't wanna lie
I just got to get loose
With you tonight

Let me take you home tonight
Mamma now it's alright
Let me take you home tonight
I'll show you sweet delight.

I don't wanna make excuses, I don't wanna lie
I just got to get loose
With you tonight

I don't wanna down you, I wanna make you high
And I get this feeling whenever you walk by
If we just get together, I wanna make you see
I'm dreamin' of your sweet love tonight, so mamma let it be.

Let me take you home tonight
Mamma now it's alright
Let me take you home tonight
I'll show you sweet delight
I wanna show you sweet delight, show ya sweet delight
Pretty mamma wanna show ya sweet delight

Let me take you home tonight
You know I wanna take you home
Let me take you home tonight
I don't wanna be alone
Let me take you home tonight
Let me take you home tonight
Let me take you home tonight

AND...if you play Atlanta Rhythm Section's "Imaginary Lover" on 45, it sounds eerily like "Rhiannon"!

LOL

WHY do we know these things?
