Sadly for me, Pink Floyd beat out Radiohead in the last round. Well, I guess Thom Yorke has another thing to be miserable about now, bless him.
Round 27 sees three modern bands with not much in common at all, except all have been mentioned on The Ledge. But who is your fave?

Round 9: Abba defeats The Carpenters - 25 to 15
Round 10: Prince defeats Jimi Hendrix/Lenny Kravitz - 24 to 15/3
Round 11: No Doubt defeat Garbage/Hole - 27 to 11/9

well, I went for The Killers, because FF is too retro and stylish for me. Maroon 5 had a fantastic radiohit but that album bored the frick out of me. So it's the killers because of energy and straight forward thinking musically.

I went for The Killers. Their debut album is great. Nice melodic rock. I can't get enough of 'Smile Like You Mean It' and 'Andy, You're A Star.'

Nice one, Sharon.
The Killers suck so hard. If only I had a magic eraser on the end of my pencil, I would erase every trace of them. In the words of Stevie, they hurt my everything.
Maroon 5? Someone unscrew that vice grip and remove Levine's balls from it.
Franz Ferdinand all the way. One of my favorite bands. I love those pale, skinny boys with every fiber of my being.

I am so not trying to be contrary or anything of the sort, Gerald, but could you please expound on this just a bit?
I don't care for Maroon 5 at all, and The Killers do absolutely nothing for me, so this is an easy choice for me. I don't have Franz Ferdinand's new album, but I still enjoy their first one, and they put on a fantastic concert. I like the rakishness, and I like any band that names itself after an Archduke.

Sharon - It's my turn to HATE you.
I'm going to have to do some soul-searching before I vote on this.

I like Franz, they've actually stayed in my ishuffle since a friend gave me some songs. And there's only about 200 songs on there, people. ;)

Well, Maroon 5 is out of the mix. So we know who its between. I may be leaning towards the Killers because I love their music AND Brandon Flowers is hot. Then again, Nick McCarthy is pretty hot too. I'm too torn.

He's got such a tight little ass (while Alex has no ass...whatsoever). I really noticed it last week. Too bad he's about as tall as leprechaun in Manolo Blahnik's.

I'm also trying to base my vote on how these bands would match up against any other band in the 2nd round. So I know who I'm voting for now...
FRANZ FERDINAND

I have no idea who you are talking about. But a short guy with a cute butt ?
Come to Sparky....come to Sparky.
Nonetheless, the Franz boys get my vote. I can't imagine a better new band.

And he'd love it, too. I generally don't like them so skinny that they look like heroin addicts, but I'll make one exception.
This made me REALLY laugh out loud.
I chuckled at the image it provoked, too.

Maroon 5 are dull, The Killers are a copy of a copy, Franz Ferdinand are brilliant musicians, and write very nice songs so they're my choice.

How do you like the new album, Romy? I was hoping you'd pop up sometime to say something about it and give your unique perspective. :xoxo:

Hey thanks :o . But I'm a bad fan, since I haven't bought it yet. I hope to repent sometime next week.

Well, I understand that you don't understand. It's a drag sometimes to pronounce what you mean in another language. I think The Killers-songs are less "construction" than those of Franz Ferdinand. The flow more naturally. And I've got every album that Fischer-Z brought out and every Talking heads record, so FF is something that sounds so familiar to me that they don't surprise me anymore. The killers are not on my top list though because they are very ecclectic, too , but their songs are more straight forward songideas, not 5 ideas that morph into one.....
catch my drift?
My vote's for Joy Division. Ehm, I meant Killers. Ehm, I meant Franz Ferdinand. Ehm.. oh hell!
Oh, it's Killers, not The Killers, am I right? I'm not a fan but they won't stop talking about them on the NewOrderOnlineboard.

The Killers. Because Brandon Flowers is f*ckin' hot, and Maroon 5 are waaay overrated.

I really would've voted for the Killers, but I don't think they'd stand a chance against some of the other older bands. :distress:

I forgot if I posted this already and am too lazy to check
The Killers are okay and Mr. Brightside is positively glorious in is mania to these ears.
FF is okay, but I just do not get into their stuff.
Maroon 5 is okay, but nothing really stands out to me.
All is all, these three are varying shades of the lower end of mediocrity as far as I am concerned.

I trip over my tongue. It's just impossible for me to sing along with. I mean, the man never pauses between lyrics. Trying to sing "I never feel pain, won't you hit me again?"/"I need a bit of black and blue to be a rotation" is like trying to bend over to kiss my own ass.
