Two new threads in one day. Just a few questions coz I want to know if I'm a freak:

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?

I know I can think of more but how obsessed are you? I think I am too obsessed. If there was no Stevie or FM, I think I'd be all f**ked up. Anybody else?

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?
Nope. Not one.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?

Maybe for a week.....

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?

I missed a pharmacy exam to go to Live in Boston.

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?

1. I'm sorry, but if I stopped thinking about Fleetwood Mac for a day, the spirit of Rhiannon would come to Earth to torment me! :]

2. When The Ledge went down for a couple days last month, I was scared that it really would be down all week.

3. I listen to it when I feel like it, mostly. But I think it helped me get through some rough times the last few months.

4. I once turned down dinner at my aunt's house so I could listen to VBOFM all the way through. Besides that, no.

5. No, I keep my epic dysfunction to myself. :p

I knew it! I am all f**ked up. I think about it and I think if somehow the government banned all Stevie or FM I might go crazy. I need help.

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?Probably not . . . oh, probably some days here & there. Of course I'm obsessed with the band.
2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?I don't hang out here for the news. I hang out here because I'm obsessed with other fans as much as or even more than I am with the band. When I leave town, I don't check the Ledge. I remember when the Ledge closed up for a year or so. Everyone just scattered. As far as I know, no suicides.
3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help? Not usually, because I don't consider them anything more than middlebrow, "popular" art, so they don't have that sort of "healing" effect on my troubled states. For that, I have to turn to what I consider highbrow art. Essentially, I use Fleetwood Mac just to groove.
4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?Yes, I've missed weddings (not my own), exams, vacations, etc., to try to get to a Fleetwood Mac concert. For example, in 1985 I remember very clearly that I ditched a big exam to attend a Stevie appearance with Tom Petty & Jackson Browne at Universal Amphitheatre. In later years, I actually skipped some grad seminars to go to Stevie Nicks concerts in the San Francisco area, & I ditched school a bit to attend earlier shows on the Mirage Tour. I missed my cousin's wedding because my Fleetwood Mac cover band had a job to do in another state -- but that's not really the same thing because I was committed to go.
5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?Oh, sure, lots of times. Not much lately but in the early days for me.
I know I can think of more but how obsessed are you? I think I am too obsessed. If there was no Stevie or FM, I think I'd be all f**ked up. Anybody else?Actually, I think I'd be healthier & more productive without Fleetwood Mac. But I'm definitely an obsessed fan all these years.

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM? Nope. I only have to open my eyes in the morning and look at my framed picture on the wall.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life? Nope, I need to check the various boards at least once every day, in case I miss some interesting (tour!) news or some demos/boots that I don't yet own. I'd go stark raving mad if I had to go without checking for a few days.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help? There is always a song for any mood that I am in. And yes, I often put them on when I need it.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related? Hm, well, going to concerts is a pretty seldom occurance considering where I live, and I get my stuff from the internet, so there is hardly any planning involved regarding that. But I am sure that when the time comes, I will have no problems with cancelling things that I deem less important than Stevie/FM. And those are a lot of things. ;)

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already? Sure. My sister tells me on a daily basis. And just yesterday a customer walked into the store and she went "Jeez, you have this DVD on every time I come in! You're a junkie."

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?

Nope, I have thought about them daily since 1975!

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?

No Way! Especially The Ledge, I have become addicted to it, The Nicks Fix could shut down and I would be happy here at The Ledge !

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?

I have been going through a very hard time, recently locating from Ny to Fla and the music has helped me tremendously. There were days I thought I couldn't go on anymore and the music and concert tapes literally saved my life. In the past it has gotten me through major deaths in my family and a few serious relationship break-ups.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?

Yes and I also planned my birthday party around Stevies BTM, made my whole family sit and watch it with me as part of my bday gift! Then I put on an advance copy of Storytellers right after- they think I am totally nuts when it comes to Stevie..maybe they are right?!

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?

My best freind several times quote "Oh my god you are obsessed with Stevie !! " Ironically it was through her that I got to sit front row and meet Stevie at Storytellers! Thanks Donna , you know what that meant to me, the best day of my life , ties with the birth my son and marrying my husband, yup I am majorly obsessed!! :D

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?
No. Not even an hour. Unless very busy.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life? Only on vacation when I have no choice, like for a week when I was in Hawaii.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?

Listen everyday during 50 minute commute

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?

I cancelled 2 days of patients to go to Albuquerque at the last minute

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?

All the time!

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?

This question scares me b/c I really don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't think about Stevie/FM in one way or another. But then I reassure myself that it's probably b/c when I'm in the car, I tend to almost always listen to something Stevie or FM.
2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?

I just recently got my home computer fixed, so I know I could go without the Ledge for a while, but it's not fun. For the rest of my life? Nah.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?

Of course, and yes. Stevie has gotten me through many a tragedy.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?

So far, I haven't had to. I'm a good planner. ;)

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?

Everyone I know thinks I'm obsessed, but no one has ever told me to shut up about it.

I know I can think of more but how obsessed are you? I think I am too obsessed. If there was no Stevie or FM, I think I'd be all f**ked up. Anybody else?[/QUOTE]

I think I'm pretty far gone.

I was just thinking about that, literally 10 minutes ago. While I was carrying my laundry on my head back from the laundromat. Because I was listening to my ishuffle, and SDMHA came on, and I marveled that I'm never really sick of the recorded version of that song, and then it occured to me that I may be sick.

Anyway -

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?
No

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?
A month would be hard. I could do a week or two weeks for sure. Rest of my life? Probably not. maybe.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?
Yes, but not usually when I'm anxious because it can make me think of things that make me more anxious. The others yes.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?
well, I took vacation days from work

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?
No, because they are too polite. Plus, I try not to torture my friends unduly. But I'm sure they've thought it. Wait, I think my parents said something rude like that....

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM? Nope, never.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life? Well, I did it when I went to California for 5 days, but I was dying. So, probably like no more than 5 days.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help? Oh, of course I do, and yes it helps A LOT.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related? I missed a day of school when I saw FM in concert. Nothing else has ever came on a day that I could miss school for. If I went to Vegas, I would have missed school for that.

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already? Everyday.

I know I can think of more but how obsessed are you? I think I am too obsessed. If there was no Stevie or FM, I think I'd be all f**ked up. Anybody else? I think I'm pretty damn obsessed. There's no help for me anymore.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life? I've done a week. More than that would make me very uncomfortable.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help? Yes and yes.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related? I have taken days off from work for shows, and I drove 6 hours straight back home from the Hershey show last year in the middle of the night so I could make my Goddaughter's christening (we did make it - even got to sleep for 2 hours!)

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already? Lots of times.

. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?

Stevie is pretty integrated into my life just like a friend.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?

Since discovering the Ledge, of which I have downloaded some awesome songs and laughed at some of the best Stevie humor...let's just say I was really bummed when the site was down.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?

Yes, music is very healing.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?

No, because "I build my life around them".

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?

Not so far, but I am very empathic and I feel sometimes they may want to. ;)
But, I will confess to driving by her house in California recently (I live in Illinois) and blaring "DESTINY RULES" with the my friend. She wouldn't let me drive for fear of me stopping the car and going up to her door. (It was just a passing thing; I totally respect her privacy)

I'm changing the questions from Stevie/FM to Stevie...

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie?
No, never. In fact I spend way too much time and energy on her. Sometimes I lay in bed at night thinking about Stevie stuff.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Steviesites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?

Of couse I could go for any length of time without checking but it would be extremely difficult and why would I want to? I'm totally addicted to The Ledge.

3.Do you put on Stevie music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed?Does it help?

I listen to her music constantly, mostly in my car. Sometimes I'll take a break for a day or 2 but I always go back. There are times though when I'm very emotional and it's too painful to listen to her because it takes me to a place I don't want to go.

Yes, her music has a been a guiding force in my life.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie related?

I haven't had to but I would in an instant.

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie already?

They don't need to, I already know .

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?
Absolutely. Especially days where I'm going to two or more hockey games.
2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?
Probably. Obviously, it would depend on what is replacing the time I spend on these boards. I've gone long periods without checking into anything Mac related, so I know it can be done.
3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?
Sometimes and sometimes. I also put on other beloved artists during those times. Back in early March, when I pretty much knew I wasn't going to be kept on at my last job, the song that really seemed to help was Alanis Morissette's "One Hand In My Pocket" for some strange reason.
4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?
No, but I did modify a plan when I saw that last gig in Detroit. It's no secret that I absolutely love going to Canada, and I had planned on going into Windsor to get a Pizza Pizza before the show. But, traffic was really bad, and I decided that I'd better just get a burger or sub in order to get to the gig at a decent time. Mind you, I had Radio One playing in the car.
5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?
YES!!!

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?
Not since late 2003. I've been hopelessly obsessed ever since then.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?
I could go a week. After that, I think I'd have to check something, even if it wasn't The Ledge. I'd at least have to talk to someone and ask what's going on.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?
Yes, I do that a lot. Lately a lot of Christine's songs have been helping me. Stevie's and Lindsey's music have really helped me in the past, too.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?
No, but I have spent time on this board or other boards when I should have been doing school work. Plenty of times.

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?
Many times

1. not a single day since 1997. before that, frequent attention was dedicated to ms. nicks from 1994 on. and before that, it was an occasional thing.

2. umm, i wasn't online for two entire months this fall. that sucked. i checked the ledge thrice and felt like i was dying inside. and that makes me sad. now, i could go for a few days. i talk to my ledgie friends offline so i think i could manage.

3. SN/FM is pretty much the only thing i play these days anyway. at least at home. in my car, i have the mp3s and even that is over 50% mac related. so yes, yes, yes, and yes to the actual question.

4. i've passed on lots of things in the name of stevie/mac. namely paying bills, a business seminar, and staying with my gram during a hurricane (shut up, she's fine). if i could snark out of teaching florida's youth this spring, i'd be heading to Oz.

5. obsessed is such an ugly word. it makes me happy, i'm not neglecting other parts of my life, i could be hooked on crack. there you go...

That is so sweet. None of my "friends" ever call me. I think I could still go without the ledge for a long time, though. Actually, maybe that's why? :D
After all, I still have Stevie.

David...are you still doing this FM cover band? How interesting. Just today I read in the LA Weekly about a gig in Tarzania this past Friday with a FM tribute band. Your band?

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?
No - I come here everyday. Just doing that rules out the possibility.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?
Well, I have. On vacations and stuff. Do I like it? Not so much. I work in news and I get nervous when I don't know what's going on in the world. Similarly, I get nervous when I don't know the latest news about SN and FM (because there's always the chance they're going to do a surprise tour!)

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?
Definitely - and definitely.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?
I've missed my own birthday celebration with my friends because I went to Detroit to Stevie last summer. I moved the celebrating to the night before. And I don't hesitate to ask for days off from work to go to concerts.

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?
Not really, because I am pretty good at keeping it to myself. I don't try to get my friends to love them. My close friends know I love SN and FM, but they don't know about The Ledge, nor about how many demos and boots I have, and they probably don't really have any concept of how much time I spend listening to them.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?

Only on rare occasions

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM? No!!!!!!!!!

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? Yes, easily. I do it all the time!

For two weeks? Yes

For a month? Yes

For the rest of your life? I could, but I wouldn't want to.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Not really. I'm not a very depressed person. I used to be, but then I started exercising. Oh God, now I sound like Tom Cruise! But it seriosuly helps. Ever since I started eating better and exercising, my life is great!

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related? Yes, I've missed school for Stevie concerts. I missed my sister's birthday because a FM concert fell on that day.

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already? No. People have asked me if I listen to anything else because I don't play any music but Stevie basically. But I don't really talk about her nonstop, or at least no one has ever told me I do.

I know I can think of more but how obsessed are you? I think I am too obsessed. If there was no Stevie or FM, I think I'd be all f**ked up. Anybody else?

I'm really not that obsessed. I don't think I am at least. I love everything Stevie does and I get all excited when she twirls and I've spent all my money on her concerts, but it's not like an unhealthy obsession. My obsession with soap operas was unhealthy because I didn't even enjoy watching them, but I couldn't stop. That is unhealthy!

Besides being offline transferring stuff to DVD or CD, I've been doing some reading, working out, cleaning, and some online gaming to de-stress myself, or at least try.

You mean Stevie's house? A mental image of someone running up and pounding on Stevie's front door has me LMAO.

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM?
* Nope.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the Ledge or any other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?
* I've done it for two weeks and I went out of my mind! So that's a big NO.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?
* Totally, to both questions. My grandmother passed away a little over a week ago, and Stevie/FM's music has been really helpful.

4. Have you ever canceled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?
* I skipped school to go to an FM concert last year, but that's it. It's a trend I'd continue in a heartbeat if I had any money whatsoever. :(

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?
* Only my entire family and quite a few friends.

I'm obsessed, and I admit it, but not in an unhealthy way. And I'm already quite f*cked up as it is, I can't even FATHOM what I'd be like without Stevie/FM.

Two new threads in one day. Just a few questions coz I want to know if I'm a freak:

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life?
A week or two, yes...a month or two, prolly not.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help?
Yes, and absolutely!

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related?
Not yet.

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already?
Uhhh, yes.

I know I can think of more but how obsessed are you? I think I am too obsessed. If there was no Stevie or FM, I think I'd be all f**ked up. Anybody else?

They've managed to be a pretty big part of my life and the obsession is that much more fun when shared with others!

Thank gawd I'm not the only one. I was thinking today that I can't think of one day that goes by that I don't think about Stevie. I started to wonder if that was unhealthy and thought about starting to wean myself off but then that made me feel nervous and I thought OH NO. I'm obsessed. I've been addicted to much worse things so I can tell myself that this one isn't going to blow a hole through my nose or make me broke (ok maybe the last one is still possible). I don't come here for a few days and I can do that but then I start needing to come. But even when I'm not reading or looking up Stevie stuff, I'm thinking about her. Listening to her calms me when I'm really upset and sometimes just looking at her on a dvd mellows me out. When I talk about her, it's always something I don't mean to say. Like somebody will say something about candles and I think of Stevie and will say something like "Stevie loves candles". I get a lot of really weird and irritated looks coz I can relate a lot of things back to what I know about her. I know I couldn't go up to her door if I went by her house but I might sit outside and just stare for a few minutes thinking "Stevie lives in there." Yep, I'm far gone. I'm glad I'm not alone tho coz I'm a little freaked out by the effect she's had on my life. It's not bad but it's huge.

1. Is there ever a day that goes by when you don't think about Stevie/FM? Sometimes but not often.

2. Do you think you could go cold turkey and not check the ledge or other Stevie/FM sites and not get any news at all for a week? For two weeks? For a month? For the rest of your life? The longest I've gone is 3 months and that was work related, unfortunately.

3. Do you put on Stevie/FM music when you're feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? Does it help? Yes, yes, and yes.

4. Have you ever cancelled important things like work or school or cancelled dates to do something Stevie/FM related? Nope, I've always juggled things and it's worked so far.

5. Had anybody ever told you that you were obsessed or to shut up about Stevie/FM already? All the time.
