Some of you may have this song...but wanted to share it with all of you who don't have it. Calexico rules.
It's a song about a guy who loves Stevie Nicks music but ends up killing himself anyway and not even Stevie Nicks (The High Priestess) could save him...sad song, but brilliant.
Enjoy!

Is THAT what the song is about?...
I had the track from some cd that was pasted to the front of some new music magazine I bought a few years ago and I listened to it and couldn't figure out what the hell Stevie had to do with it... Never gave it much thought after either, so thanks Richard B. Now I know!

Thanks for sharing this, Richard! Calexico is a great band that I need to check out more of. Their EP with Iron & Wine released last month is superb.

I've heard it...it's a pretty good song!
I saw Calexico a few years back with Nico Case! It was an incredible show.

 I never knew that was the meaning behind the song. Wow. I will listen to it now in a different way.

Yeah, she was a "special guest" that night. She was kinda nervous because I don't think she was slated to perform, but a guy in the band called her up there and she sang a few songs with them. It was great!
The album this track comes from, Feast Of Wire, is definitely worth checking out, as is Hot Rail. Great band.
All right, you (along with the Iron & Wine EP) have convinced me. I needed to pre-order the Born To Run reissue from Amazon anyway, so I went ahead and did that tonight and added Feast Of Wire to the bill (along with Bettye LaVette's new album, I've Got My Own Hell To Raise, a collection of fiercely soulful covers of songs by female artists; the songs I've heard sound just amazing).
Can I just say, in the nicest possible way, that it's Neko Case and I love her! Amazing voice. :D
I did hear that there was box set of remasters in the works, though, and they'll be releasing a Nico Case next year...
(Note: That is just a bad pun. That's not actually true. Sorry, Nico fans.)

Feast Of Wire got me into them. I had no idea about the 'Not Even Stevie Nicks...' track until I heard the album and checked the track list after hearing the entire album. I was working for a music company at the time and this album just came up one day.
