There were lots of Wild Heart shows that were marked by incessant giggling, pyrotechnic singing, nonstop yapping, & heedless body-flinging (as amber puts it):
Pittsburgh - June 26
Hartford - July 3
East Troy - July 30
Dallas - Sept 5
New York - Sept 12 & 13
Irvine - Sept 24
Los Angeles - Oct 2
Tulsa - Nov 12

My fave WH show has to be when Elaine comes on stage!

I was too young and naive to understand the real reason why, during the legato Beauty and the Beast, she was twisting and spinning her hands and wrists at about 150 mph. I just thought it looked cool.

I do really love the Alpine Valley RAL show...it seems that night was more cocaine induced, rather than alcohol on account of how energetic she sounded...cloaks and daggers, though, i think was alcohol induced. Didnt someone say a few years ago that in stevie's little cup she used to keep by her mike (you can see it in the Iowa RAL DVD) was whiskey?

Not sure if it was whiskey or brandy that I heard. I know in the early FM tours and Belladonna tours backstage, she said she drank alot of wine and champange.

yeah, she did say that at least when she was in the studio she always kept a little bottle of brandy with her.

I was at the first night of the tour in Houston at the Summit. She fell through the stage during her Edge of Seventeen walk. A seam between the panels that make up the stage must have been weak and it just opened up underneath her. All we could see of her after she dropped was her white satin shawl her arms and the top of her head. Her guards ran over to her and helped her out immediately. After the song ended she went to the mike and asked the audience "Did you see that? I fell through the stage!". We were all "duh, yeah we were kinda watching you at the time."
Another time, in Dallas at during the Other Side of the Mirror tour, I had second row center seating. During her second number, a GIANT BLACK CRICKET flew at her from behind and landed on her big puffy blonde hairdo. It couldn't have been more obvious to us in the front and I'm sure most of us at the Starplex as well. It stayed there roaming around gingerly on her head. A girl next to me who was stoned outta her head was climbing on her chair pointing desparately to the big black cricket hoping she could save her some embarrassment. Stevie acknowledge the young stoner with a smile and a nod but didn't not notice the cricket at all. I thought it would be so much worse for her to realize it was there while singing and hoped it would just leave as suddenly as it appeared. But it stayed for the duration of the song and when Stevie walked backstage to change into another outfit it was still roaming around her head. This is when I realized the goddess was human and I prayed that cricket met a painful and messy death underneath the weight of a six-inch platform heel.

didn't she fall at the red rocks show as well? during the interlude (i guess) after the first chorus, stevie is head banging pretty fierce and then it goes all digital and looks like she's in slow motion and dancing...is this where she fell?

I understand that there's video somewhere of her falling off the stage, but I've never seen it. Anybody have it?

I'd always heard rumors of such, and then at this summer's show, I heard it was included in the clips she was showing on the screen behind her. My husband saw it, but I missed it again!

Poor Stevie. But I guess if I was the cricket, I would have prefered Stevie's head also. :xoxo:

I was at this show too! That was very scary. Especially when the techs all ran over to pull her up, then accidentally dropped her back into the hole. I never got the whole story, but distinctly remember her running back to her mike afterwards, then babbling something about a sound board and, "They were SQUASHING me!!"
I have audio of this show, but I think this whole incident was edited out. Must remember to check...
She also nearly tripped over her monitor early in the show that night, and forgot the TTM lyrics. But it was opening night and a brand-new song, so I can understand that

I'm glad you were there and can confirm this, especially the part about going back to the mike and yeah it was quite a scene and I remember the whole crowd kinda gasped. She was a great sport to continue at all.
I remember a lot of lyric changes/forgetting and that when she finished "I Can't Wait" she said, "I'm so glad we got through it..." or something to that effect.

I believe this was april 11, 1986 at the Houston Summit. I was at this show too! I remember her falling off the stage and then talking for like 5 minutes after that. I remember this date well because I met her backstage after the show and got to talk to her for a bit.

i was there....it was my first stevie concert....actually, it was my first concert period. i was 16 and still a bit naive and really didn't know how f'd up she really was. i mean i knew about drugs and such but these things weren't really talked about back then. it was part of the r&r culture. things weren't as exposed as they are now. anyway, i remember in some interviews they would occasionally ask her if she drank and she would just admit to having "2 glasses of wine." yeah, ok.....
so, i thought she was just having a REALLY good time at the RAL show. but, yeah, she was definately partying hard that night. i remember a LOT of spinning and thrashing. it was definately the wildest stevie i have ever seen in person.

ok...here goes...I flew to Houston to see the concert (I live in Illinois) and went with my cousin's boyfriend who worked at the Summit at the time. He got us backstage after the show. We had no backstage passes (and they were checking) but we just acted like we were supposed to be there. Stevie comes down the hall with entourage in tow. I was only 17 at the time so this was like too cool! I really wish I remembered all that I said to Stevie, but I do remember her being very gracious and she was checking out the guy I was with while she was talking to me. Um, he was definitely worth checking out, just fyi. I believe I told her I flew in just to see her, loved her music, etc...and she held my hands and said to have a safe trip back and hugged me. This was only the first time I've met her, btw.
