Okay - one more post. I'm fuming. I just went back to the WNED page, and it wasn't there. Looks like they didn't air it. No Soundstage last night - and they're airing the Sheryl Crow one tonight. F*ckers.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's being released soon. Don't care. I wanted to see it TODAY! I hate WNED.

I'm not even pretending it's going to be on, anymore. I'm just going to buy it, that way, I don't have to think about it again. I mean, come on, it's like the Loch Ness Soundstage at this point. Some people have spotted it, but most never will...

Yeah that is the way that I feel! I ordered the DVD a month ago from PBS and the it still has not even been shipped to me! I even tried to get a copy of the show from the TV and that just doesn't seem to be working out. Trust me I feel your pain!

Just sent another useless email to WNED basically accusing them of conspiring against me. Well, not exactly. But kind of. :p

Dripping with my patented sarcasm, I reminded them that they had no problems whoring out The Dance several times over the past 8 years to beg for cash.

catinthedark

You know, I'm starting to wonder if this isn't a cash grab. I bet they've never gotten as many emails about one single episode of Soundstage as they have about this one (thanks to many of us here). I could just see them rubbing their little hands together... "You know... if we don't air it, they'll be forced to BUY it!" Does WNED or PBS make any money off the Soundstage DVD sales?

I'm so frickin' p*ssed off right now - my logic may be a little questionable. :o

Does PBS have a phone number. Id love to call and complain and maybe just start swearing at the WNED scheduling guy. I mean its flat out wrong what they did. It was on the danm schedule until YESTERDAY. And they put some unknown guy in his place. Are they TRYING to piss us off. Maybe during one of their many pledge drive things Ill call up and say no im not giving a freaking cent because of what you did over the soundstage.

I felt marginally better after firing off my email yesterday. Marginally. I bet you anything Paula and I get the same form letter response....

Here was my email and their response:

To whom it may concern,
>
>
> After many months of waiting, I was thrilled to finally see that
>Lindsey Buckingham's Soundstage scheduled to air on your station on Saturday
>10/8/05. I set up my Tivo before I went to bed to make sure I wouldn't
>miss it, since Soundstage always airs at the very inconvenient time of 1am
>here in Buffalo.
>
> Imagine my surprise when I attempted to watch the episode this morning
>and it wasn't there. Apparently, it was replaced at the last minute with a
>country music special. I had checked your website a few days ago, as well
>as my Tivo and Adelphia digital cable guides at 11pm on 10/7- all reported
>that Mr. Buckingham's Soundstage would air as scheduled. I'm glad I didn't
>attempt to stay up to view this, since I had to work this morning - what a
>waste of my time that would have been.
>
> I understand that sometimes a TV schedule needs to be changed - but at
>1am on a Saturday morning? Really? Something so important came up that the
>episode was pulled? And I'm curious to know why it hasn't been rescheduled.
> I have seen other episodes of Soundstage this season & they all aired as
>scheduled. Most other regions in the U.S. have aired it already - why is
>WNED always behind? In the past, you have told me that most of your viewers
>are older & don't like this type of programming. Well, funny that you had
>no problem reaping the benefits of repeatedly showing Fleetwood Mac's 1997
>concert The Dance during past pledge drives.
>
>
> I have emailed you in the past about this. I'm sure you think I am
>some sort of nutjob who likes to harrass you about Lindsey Buckingham (and
>Fleetwood Mac, for that matter.) I assure you I am simply a fan who would
>love to see her favorite artists perform - like all of her other fan friends
>across the country already have. I'm also aware that as one single person,
>I can't demand what PBS airs, especially since you have pointed out in the
>past that I am not a contributing member. But I could not have been the
>only person who showed interest in this show. Why take it off the air
>without warning & not reschedule it? Perhaps several contributing members
>demanded that it be removed from the schedule? Hopefully, that outrageous
>thought doesn't hold true.
>
>Thank you for your time,
>Paula
>
>PS - Rest assured, I am aware it will be released on DVD soon & I intend to
>purchase it. But it's the general public's loss for not being able to see
>this guitar genius perform again on PBS.

Dear Ms. Taton,
>

Thanks for writing. Due to technical difficulties, we were unable to broadcast
Soundstage: Lindsay Buckingham with Stevie Nicks on Saturday, October 8th at
1:00am. There are no plans to broadcast
the program. I apologize profusely for the inconvenience that you experienced.

In regards to us playing Fleetwood Mac programs in the past, you are correct. We
have shown concerts featuring Fleetwood Mac. We often try a variety of programs
during our pledge drives. Pledge
programs over the years have ranged from Fleetwood Mac to Andre Rieu. Programs
with Andre Rieu prove to be crowd pleasers whereas modern music programs do not
fare as well. We use ratings from our
pledge and regular programming to gauge on viewers tastes. It is a fact that the
series Soundstage is not a priority with much of our viewing audience and that
is why it is on at 1:00am. We found
that no one watched Soundstage when we broadcast it in primetime. The series
gets some viewers at 1:00am. I can assure you that WNED does not have anything
against Lindsay Buckingham or Fleetwood
Mac. As a matter of fact, I am a major Lindsay Buckingham fan and waited months
to watch the concert myself. I was crushed find out that there were technical
difficulties and it would not be
broadcast. I do sympathize with how you feel.

I hope that I have clarified your questions. Please write again with your
comments and questions.

Yes, I'm sure she was really, how did she put it, "crushed" when they didn't show it.

Paula,

Check my thread on the sevenwonders board called Technical Difficulties??? You got a combo form letter - the first half is what I got, the second half is what another fellow Ledgie got.

What a frickin' shocker.
