'The Other Side Of The Mirror' Survivor - Round 1

[LiquidBlue5000]

.."alright said Alice, i'm going back to the other side of the mirror"

.. Stevie's "magic album" and another long overdue survivor... while it may seem obvious as to which song might win this one, I think there are 2 or 3 others that may have a chance.. either way, it'll be interesting to see how they all rank..

Yet another polarizing Stevie Nicks solo album..

and here it is:

Rooms On Fire
Long Way To Go
Two Kinds Of Love
Ooh My Love
Ghosts
Whole Lotta Trouble
Fire Burning
Cry Wolf
Alice
Juliet
Doing The Best I Can (Escape From Berlin)
I Still Miss Someone (Blue Eyes)

The cutoff time for Round 1 will be on Thursday at 9PM..

let the voting begin now... :wavey:

Nope. Ooh, My Love should.

Amen to that.

I'm going with ISMS for my first vote as well.

[GateandGarden]

I have no love for "Two Kinds of Love"

Did we already have one of these or is it just my imagination? I keep thinking that there was a OSOTM survivor sometime around when I first joined the board.

[ontheEdgeof17]

i love me some 'ooh my love'

Wow. The boy found taste.

Nope. That should make it to the final two but Doing The Best I Can should win

Fair Enough. I love that song, too. The final 4 should be Ooh, My Love, DTBTIC, Fire Burning, and Long Way To Go.

Wow. That's my next least fave.

Alice and Ghosts are better than Ooh, My Love?

[skcin]

Who in the world do you think that you are fooling

Yay!!!!

Looks like I'm gonna have to get some ribbons & some bows to tie your hands together & stop you from voting for Juliet again! :p

[Stephanie]

my vote to get goin': I Still Miss Someone (Blue Eyes)

I have to say this now b/c I fear it will be gone this round, but i am that strange person that likes two kinds of love.

[dissention]

Two Kinds of Crap

A real lowpoint. Love this album, but this is just baaaaaaaaad.

And I cannot believe that people are saying "I Still Miss Someone" is the worst song she's ever recorded.

[David]

Possibly a good song, but there's no way anyone would know listening to what Rupert Hine & Stevie Nicks & Co. did to it.

[GypsySorcerer]

Two Kinds of Love

*puke*

[CreepingDeath]

Bruce Hornsby is a hack.

[heyjupiter678]

Beautiful song, atrocious cover.

[AliceLover]

Oh God, this is going to be the hardest survivor of my life.

[catinthedark]

Oh God, this is going to be the hardest survivor of my life.

Do what I did with the Rock a Little Survivor... quit after the first 2 or 3 rounds! Seriously, I just couldn't do it. :distress:

[strandinthewind]

yes, it is my least favorite

Yep - and the bridge is brilliant - but the rest is such a wasted opportunity IMO.

[AliceLover]

Do what I did with the Rock a Little Survivor... quit after the first 2 or 3 rounds! Seriously, I just couldn't do it. :distress:

LOL i might have to!!!

I love the rest of the tracks....oh boy!

[AliceLover]

Yep - and the bridge is brilliant - but the rest is such a wasted opportunity IMO.

I always wondered why this song did so well in Europe....

I like it and hate it at the same time.

[AliceLover]

Yay!!!!

BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ill have to send you a live version :xoxo:

[AliceLover]

Wow. The boy found taste.

Fair Enough. I love that song, too. The final 4 should be Ooh, My Love, DTBTIC, Fire Burning, and Long Way To Go.

Alice and Ghosts are better than Ooh, My Love?

One of them is. :p

Curtis you know your warming to it.....

[AliceLover]

Two Kinds of Crap

A real lowpoint. Love this album, but this is just baaaaaaaaad.

And I cannot believe that people are saying "I Still Miss Someone" is the worst song she's ever recorded.

I don't think that. SO many favorites too hard to choose :)

[mikeschmike]

Two Kinds of Love

[ontheEdgeof17]

One of them is. :p

Curtis you know your warming to it.....

I like it a lot. It's still in the bottom 5 of Stevie songs, though.

[NoSpeedLimit8]

I Still Miss Someone

[AliceLover]

I like it a lot. It's still in the bottom 5 of Stevie songs, though.

Of all time?????

[TheBlueLamp]

Oh God, this is going to be the hardest survivor of my life.

I feel exactly the same. I love each and every song on this album. It's like I'm voting out my babies!

So I Still Miss Someone to go...if only to temporarily save TKOL.

[takenbythesky]

..............................................

[GypsyBoy87]

Nope. Ooh, My Love should.

YES IT SHOULD!!!, and my vote is for I Still Miss Someone ( blue eyes)

[Travis]

This is tough, seeing as this is my fave Stevie album tied with The Wild Heart. All the songs are great. This album doesn't get the credit it deserves.

My vote:

I Still Miss Someone

Great song, but I had to vote for something. And since she did not write it, well .....

[1934mission]

I like alot of these songs. This one I'm voting off because she didn't write it, and it doesn't fit with the rest as much. I think some of the production on this album muddies up the vocals. It's clear from listening to some of the great demos just posted, that Stevie did indeed have the crisp sound I love.

[Raeven Skye]

Two Kinds of Loathe

[realcowgirl]

.................

[iamovercome]

off with "two kinds of love"...i love this album, but that song makes me die inside a little...especially live.

[SapphireSister]

These survivors are starting to get painful for me. Maybe I'll sit this one out...NOT. My favorites always leave so soon :(. Two Kind of Love will probably be out the next round and that makes me sad.

[Hippocampus]

Weakest of the lot for me.

[Rickypt]

Cheesy, trite wannabe blues song

[The Tower]

Just awful.....

[face of glass]

Apart from this it's a pretty even album, really.

[Dark Angel]

*****************

[Richard B]

Yuck. Puke. Bruce Hornsby?? Oh my...have another klonopin Stevie.

[macfanken]

I Still Miss Someone (Blue Eyes)

[Dealer]

I Still Miss Someone (Blue Eyes)

The arrangement botched what coulda woulda shoulda been an awesome cover.

[LiquidBlue5000]
