A friend of mine is taking me to see them tomorrow night in Rochester Minnesota, and He knows the tour manager so hopefully we'el be able to meet them backstage before the show. :) I went with him to see them at our state fair and I'll say this; I had them pegged for alot of these totally washed up bands Like REO SPeedwagon that have like NO ONE almost from their original lineup. But they Kicked ass!!! I really wanna meet Tommy Shaw and Lawrence Gowan. I've heard they're really nice guys. WHo else likes them BTW?

i LUV styx & have seen them alot of times, their "paradise tour " & return to the paradise" were the best i have seen, they are a great band to see live~ i miss dennis deyoung tho, i have seen all but 1 tour w/ him, is he touring w/ them this time?~

No, Lawrence Gowan is playing with them now, hes been with them for about 5 years or more. BTW they're going to be in Sioux City at the Tyson Center on Friday if ur interested. :thumbsup:

I like Styx. They were the "****" back around '80. I'm sure "Babe" was the prom song for many back then.

Oh, I'm sure of that. Like I said, Lawrence Gowan does a great job on Dennis DeYoung's parts :thumbsup:

They are OK. I have seen them several times (there is usually some buy one get one free lawn ticket deal when they play here...so why no?) with REO and Bad Company, a couple others. The only songs they have that I REALLY like are Renegade and Crystal Ball. THe other ones I can take or leave.

Ah, yes....Styx. Second concert I ever saw - was their Grand Illusion tour....good times....

I love Equinox, Grand Illusion and Pieces of Eight. :thumbsup:

Styx used to be my favorite band back in the day. I DO miss Dennis DeYoung, but I've heard their latest album and I really liked it. Tommy Shaw is great, but I've always had a soft spot for JY (James Young). So David, if you get to meet JY, tell him he has a BIG fan in Kansas City! Crystal Ball is one of my favorite songs ever.

i wish I had seen Journey back in the Steve Perry days. Thats one of those bands that, for me, isn't really Journey anymore. Like this new Queen without Freddie? Hogwash!

Mr Roboto. Sniff. I used to LOVE that song. Found a cd compilation that had that song on it. Happy & horrified I still knew the lyrics. :shocked: Rotate and play it often...in the privacy of my own home. :lol: Don't tell anyone :cool:

My friend went to the Iridium nightclub in NYC to see Les Paul a few years back. She is a Styx fan but not the type that would follow then around the country if you know what I mean. ;) Well, she went to the club one night with her aunts and sure enough Tommy Shaw and JT Young were at the club and she got to meet them and have her photo taken with them! She told them she was a big fan. Well they were doing a concert in NJ the next night and they told her that they would have tickets for her and that they would send her a limo to come get her in NYC! Of course she was headed back home to RI the next day with her aunt so that never happened. She said that she thought about staying and calling me up to come down to NYC. I told her that she should have called me and we could have gone as VIP guests of Styx. I would have gone down there in a heartbeat and I am not even a big fan.

Thanks as you can see I used that Rolling Stone Random Notes photo of Stevie. ;) I actually want to put them next to each other. I need to fix that part.
