View Full Version : Anyone else having iTunes/iPod problems?

I just downloaded the latest version of both as is recommended and now it's all jacked up - won't update iPod correctly or freezes? WTF??

Dunno, I always refuse to update mine. :D I was scared of just the same thing. I can see myself...."NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! NOT MY MUSIC!!!!!"

Could you be more specific?
Which iPod do you have?
Is iTunes working?
Are you on a Mac or PC/Windows?
What OS version are your running?
Have you tried re-setting your iPod?

just talked to an apple rep and she says my iPod is permanently frozen and will need to be replaced!!! ARGH!

I always keep current and have yet to have a problem with my iPod or iTunes. But then I've worked for Apple Computer.

That sucks. Hopefully all your music is still on your computer when they get you a new iPod.

thank GOD all my music is on my computer and I'm about to back it up but you can bet yo ass I won't update either one after I get this all cleared up - it does look like I lost one song - the one I've had on repeat for 3 days "after we make love" by whitney houston

Don't worry. Whitney is nothing to cry over. Although, I really love that song of hers 'One Of Those Days.'

normally I would agree with you but as of late I am OBSESSED with After We Make Love - oh well...I posed a thread hoping someone will YOUSENDIT to me or RapidShare it...

My iPod did that a month ago. It would freeze, it wouldn't update, I tried all the tricks off all the FAQs, but it kept giving me what I guess is the ERROR MESSAGE OF DOOM, the sad iPod and a weird folder icon with an exclamation point. It was just under a year old... I took it into the Apple Store, and the (hot) guy literally put it up to his ear and listened to it and told me the hard drive was busted. He went into the back and got me a new one instantly.

They were very cool about it. And the tech guy was hot. So all in all, not a terrible experience.

ETA: I've heard that the new version of iTunes SUCKS. It's creating crazy problems for people with their library, so if you haven't downloaded it already, avoid it. I'm not touching it.

I don't update mine either. I'm glad I haven't. Last time I did, I lost all of my songs.

quick question - how does the "show album artwork" work? I've never been able to get it to show up in iTunes or on my iPod that clearly is capable...even on the box they show the album artwork for Black Eyed Peas as the song Hey Mama plays...

Oh, yeah, i didn't mean it bad...it's just that I can't help you...but that guy can...Although I've seen album artwork on mine, I just don't know about it. :angel:

Usually I update mine but I didn't the other day because I was too busy messing around with this (http://www.last.fm/user/meadowsoprano/) (thanks, Meredith for getting me hooked -_- ) Now I definitely won't be updating.

I mean, it's not nearly as addictive as a lot of the other sites out there (facebook, myspace, livejournal, etc.) but it's certainly captured my attention at moments when I felt like being a total sloth.

Aww...thanks :o School is killing me slowly but i'm dealing with it. Every waking moment is dedicated to Interpersonal Communication, Methods of Communication Research and Analysis, Cable and Broadcasting In America, and Theories of Persuasion (okay, so not EVERY waking moment).
