She still looks and sounds amazing!

I have been listening to her a lot lately and watching her DVD. Puts on an awesome show. Her voice has an amazing range.

Love love love her.

Her voice has an amazing range.

It really does. Her voice is practically operatic and it's especially jarring because she's such a tiny little thing. After she shredded her voice in the late seventies, she made sure to take extra special care of it and it's paid off because she hasn't lost one iota of her range. The last time I saw her live, she was amazing. "Stay" was especially good live, she holds those notes for ages, and "Shine" always knocks my socks off.

She has that on her DVD. I don't think it's bad. The audience seemed to like it. She was being all flirty with her expressions. Do you remember if she did the whole song at your show? On the DVD she only did part of it.

Wow, you are lucky sweetie. I would have loved to go to that tour.

I saw it and they both were great. That was, I bleieve, the tour where CL walked barefoot into the audience and came up from the floor and around behind the floor where the handicap section was and where I was sitting as the companion of my handicap friend (who is not that bad off) - CL made it a point to sing directly to the really bad off handicap people and it was one of the most touching things I have ever seen. Moreover and though I wanted to, I could not openly weep because I did not want the handicap people to see me and know why - so I just sort of hid it. She is a truly great woman for that.

According to Cyndi's website, her "Decades Live" show with Shaggy, Ani, Weiland, etc. is set to air this Friday night on VH1 Classic. My cable guide doesn't say that, though, so I'm not positive.

EDIT: Found this info. I can't wait to see this show!

Did anyone catch her on Marth Stewart yesterday? I was flipping channels after dinner & saw her. She seemed so nervous & out of place around Martha, like she was thinking "what the hell am I doing here?" I missed her first song, but she did "I'll Be Your River" with Vivian Green & it was fantastic.

Oh, she was ADORABLE on Martha. I don't think she was uncomfortable. She was making jokes. Now, when she was on The View... I'd say she was uncomfortable there. I'd be annoyed if Joy Behar was interviewing me, too.

She did Time after Time first, which was to be expected. As much as I love her, I'm getting sick of that song. I know it's the latest single, but I think the other Body Acoustic stuff (Shine, All Through The Night, Above the Clouds(!!)) could benefit from more exposure. IBYR was incredible, though. The acoustics in that studio were very good; I would've loved to have been in the audience.

I don't get VH1 Classic, so unless someone wants to tape it for me, or I find a copy online, I doubt I'll ever seen this. :( I've seen pics from it. I am intrigued!

First time I ever heard it was when I saw Cyndi open for Cher in '02. She opened her set with it, belting out "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnne" and walked right into the audience to sing the entire song. I was in tears.

I don't usually listen to reviews much, although I can't say I'm too excited to hear Shaggy ruin any of her tunes, esp. All Through The Night. Wieland is so hit & miss, depending on if he's high/sober/manic/depressed, it's hard to say how he'll be. I will be watching for Cyndi. I have the Tivo ready.

Wieland didn't seem too messed up & his voice sounded pretty good - loved them together on Money Changes Everything, and Barbarella was fantastic! Pat Monahan (sp) - eh. Ani Difranco - she barely did anything, I was disappointed. Shaggy - not as terrible as I feared, I didn't mind him on All Through The Night.

 If I had that woman in my lap... Well... That in itself would be messing with the danger zone. I think I'd die. I have a hard enough time handling making eye contact with her!

I was soooo embarrassed ...you KNOW what that song is about...RIGHT! Well, it's a LONG standing joke in my family...my Mom used to laugh her ass off while letting me sing this song at the top of my lungs as a little girl knowing what it was about! Needless to say when I eventually caught on as a teen...I was petrified!

:P I remember thinking it was about dancing... which, as it turns out, is exactly what Cyn wanted kids to think at first, and then understand the meaning as they got older. When I grew up and really read the lyrics, I wondered how I could've missed out on it's meaning at all. It's so obvious, especially if you take a look at the video!

Thank God I wasn't the ONLY one! :] In more ways than one...but we won't go there! HEHE! Cyndi had Smurf blue hair at that show...it was adorable! My date at the show was scared to death of her...I was dancing in my chair, which is why she came (bad choice of words...:sorry: ) to me in the first place! I love how she wanders around and walks on the chairs...I know her feet hurt, I kept looking at them the whole time thinking how dirty they must get! HAHA! Weird though, huh

I have most of her new new album downloaded, and I can upload it on MegaUpload if you like! I've decided to BUY IT ASAP! I hope you all will do the same...the concert rocked on VH1! I just saw it tonight...and she was as ethereal as ever. She is like a pixie...I mean, she is eternally youthful in her spirit! I LOVED the HOOTERS (the group ya'll! ) and their song was the best...they should do that show "Hit Me Baby One More Time!" I thought that Scott Weiland was good, but STRANGE...I am sure he is David Bowie's love child with someone! Also, I didn't recognize Ani DiFranco at first...she looked so feminine! Go Ani! :p Why didn't she sing more though! Pat from Train is adorable and I think Cyndi thought so too... They should colaborate more. I thought Shaggy was a bit out of place...not sure WHY he was there, besides the REGGAE flavor, HMM? All in all, I never stopped singing and dancing...until my friend and neighbor in the house next door asked me to turn my stereo surround sound down!

I have two copies of the Body Acoustic. ;) When it first came out, I decided to help Musicworld rearrange their display, and stuck copies of Cyn's in front of Madonna's.

I love that she comes out into the audience and gets up on people's chairs. When I saw her, she sang Above the Clouds in the middle of Massey Hall, just a few feet in front of me. I could've died.

I know! That is so unheard of these days! Don't get me wrong...I love Stevie for her "edge" walk, BUT...CYNDI will pop out into the crowd in a heartbeat! :xoxo: If she recognizes you, watch out...she's all over you! Can't wait 'til her "Three Penny Opera" hits Broadway! :blob1:
