Nice that we can celebrate others' suffering in such a jocular and jovial manner.

Half the people there were evacuees staying in our town... enjoying themselves... and free margaritas.

put that in your pipe and smoke it.

It doesnt bother me that much. I dont see it as celebrating others misfortune.

That sounds fun. If I could have made it to Longview, I'd have joined in.

A very old bar in Galveston never closed during the storm and had a huge party too, but they weren't letting anyone on the island. :(

Jocular? Jovial?

I think it is okay for the people to celebrate thier own misfortunes though. It is not like a bunch of people in Connecticut had a MargaRita party and laughed at all the misfortune in Texas. That would be tacky.

Exactly.... When Hurricane Rita was a Category 5.. our town was expected to flood.

It got chaotic!
We freaked!

Imagine driving three towns over just to get gasoline...Batteries and bottled water are truely extinct here....
so when Rita shrunk to a Category 3... and we only got a few inches of rain.. we were joyous!!!
so we celebrated... it was much needed too..
I am sorry if the MargaRita party offended a few... but hey,
our intentions were true blue.

And I believe that a qoute from Hunter S. Thompson sums it up....

"For those of us who have been up all night..we are in no mood for coffee and donunts... we want strong drink!"

Best of Luck to everyone!!
Ciao!

Did you say this in your first post? No. You didn't. So the assumption was that the "crazy bartender" was capitalizing on the "Rita" in the margarita. OK?

us Oklahomans laugh at Texans all the time, Just not over tragedies, misfortunes & deaths...

However, Anything else is left for our own intrepretation, hehehehe!!!!

Brian "Texans were at the Red River border tossing sticks of TNT over at the Oklahomans on the other side....The Oklahomans picked up the sticks of TNT, lit em and throw 'em back...Sheesh, Dumb Texans!!!" j.

That's weird. Even without knowing there were evacuees there, I still wasn't offended, assumed it was just a fun theme, not laughing at someone's misfortune.

If it was mine - I deleted it as I am trying not to be so caustic on the Ledge when I see things I think are BS.

But, for you - here it is:

Shouldn't you be worrying about La Nicks' homely legs
