I have been digging around, and haven't been able to find them.
I can resort ot figuring it out (maybe) on the keyboard, but I would rather trust someone else's expertise.
This is my favorite Christine McVie song!
Thanks!

Intro
D | Em7 | G | D
All verses
There's no (D) use in crying
It's all (Em7) over
And I (G) know
There'll always be another (D) day
Well my (D) heart will rise up
With the (Em7) morning sun
And the (G) hurt I feel
Will simply (D) melt away
End
D | C | Bb | C | C# | D

I would like to get my hands on some boots of this from the pre-BN era.
When performed from 1975 till whenever with Lindsey & Stevie, it was a whole step higher, starting in E.

Then you would want to get the Sausalito & Hempstead boots. They're both from 1974 with Bob Welch.

I almost posted this, but didn't want to get painted as too anal retentive!
I find it odd that they raised it, because Stevie would've had an easier time on lower harmony notes. "D" must've been a little too low for Chris, is my guess Why(pun!)

I LOVE both of these. I listen to them as much as anything. It's almost like being lucky enough to see the Bob/Chris version of FM. I visualize the whole thing in the studio, while I'm listening to it.
My kingdom for video of an entire show.

Are you sure your turntable/tape deck/CD player is playing the correct speed?

Yes. The Rumours band playing it on Midnight Special(at least I think that's what it's from) is exactly in E, pitchwise at least. I'll see if I can see LB's fingers now....

{just remembered you're a keyboard player} If he's not tuned to standard tuning, that would be a fruitless task. :D

I'm a guitar player, TOO. The video's blurry, but the minor II sure looks like an F#m to me, and the bend at the end of his first solo sure looks like an E bend(7th fret). Most of the video focuses on his right hand only.
BUT, as I said, the pitch is E, no question about it!!! :D

I KNEW you played guitar, too, I was just doing a virtual "elbow in the ribs".
Unless he's tuned down the entire guitar a whole step (like John Fogerty does for "Bad Moon Rising"...it's in "D", but when I watch him play, he's playing an E major chord as the I chord)

Right, but, as I've said, the tonic pitch of the song is E. And the tempo doesn't sound any faster than any version I've heard, so I don't think it's been sped up(who would bother to do that, and why?)so.......I maintain.......they started playing it in E.
Do you have the video version we're talking about? It's a .rm file, playable (for me) only with Real Player(which I hate!).

I think she moved it from D to E because it's easier to sing those verses up a whole step. Try it yourself!

I loathe capos! It seems like I can always hear one string that's slightly out of tune when a capos on. :distress:

Too picky! ;) It's usually close enough for Rock & Roll. :D

Well, I have patience issues. And we're a real Wham, Bam, Wham, Bam, band. There's rarely more than 1-2 seconds between songs, so I don't have time to fiddle around with that string that's slightly out. I'll learn the song without a capo. I've not used one for about 5 years now.
I still carry one though. My "other" guitar player's kind of a stoner, and forgets his frequently, so I'm always there with the extra cords, picks, etc....Somebody has to be anal retentive, right? :D

Well, I don't think I can comfortably sing it lower than Christine does in the live recording I have (Wallingford), so I guess I should transpose? I am not a keyboard player or even a decent guitarist - I was just going to play the chords to cue myself, while working on the song, until I can have my guitarist play it.
It has been fun watching you guys hash this out!
