A Bob Welch/Rush tour. Anyone?Like the vast majority of the critical body in the heyday of rock criticism (the 1970s), I hate Rush. But you're a blandly bourgeois sociologist, Steve, whereas I am a Longinian aesthete.

Oh, no...you just have this "thing" against Canadians, don'tcha?
You probably dislike The Guess Who, Ann Murray, SCTV, Alex Trebek, Peter Jennings, all things ice hockey, and the RCMP, too, right?

Did you & Susie rent (or buy) the SCTV box sets yet? I want to buy them so much. I saw little bits of them, & not only are they funny as hell, of course, but they are beautifully remastered.

Oh man, do I hate Alex Trebek...
A Bob Welch/Rush tour, though. I think I could get behind that.

Nobody's mentioned Neil Young yet!

Young is great, but let's be honest, he made his fortunes in America, mostly working with Americans (save for Graham Nash). At least the Guess Who had the balls to stay in Winnipeg! As for hockey, I agree. I was SOOO happy to go to the Blue Jackets-Sabres pre-season game at Nationwide! Other Canadian shows worth watching: Corner Gas, Puppets Who Kill, Trailer Park Boys (which is where I got my sig), Odd Jobs Jack, Red Green, Ed The Sock, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Rick Mercer's Monday Report, Hockey Night In Canada, and This Is Wonderland.

Nah, it's not that. Honestly, I think you give me too much credit with bourgeois socialist thing. I haven't been much of a sociological thinker in ages. Actually, I used to hate Rush, too. They're still not my favorite band, and I think people make a bigger deal about them than what is actually there. That being said, I find that I actually enjoy a lot of their songs. I also love how they don't take themselves too seriously, unlike a certain guitarist we know. The reason I'd like to see a collaboration of this nature is that both Bob and Rush seem to have explored many of the same topics, not in a dissimilar way. If Bob had continued down the path he had set with "Hypnotized," it wouldn't shock me if it would have come out sounding similar to Rush.
