I liked some of the tv stuff, but the beginning of the RAL vocals started on this tour as did the RAL high performances. I think she did not look as good for SA as she did on WH, but her SA vocals were AMAZING in comparison to much of the WH tour. Note, I liked some of the WH, so I am not slamming it.

You are on crack. First the Rock A Little tour goes and now people are going to gun for this one. Shame shame, I know your names.

If The Wild Heart tour doesn't win this, it'll be a crying shame. Stevie Nicks at the peak of her career, man.

I just thought the beginning of the drug downfall was then. Also, her voice was IMO better on the SA, BD, and Enchanted tours - though the tv stuff for BD was magnificent. To me, it really is a toss up between WH and SA. But, tonight I chose WH. So be it.

Are you voting based on voice alone? If so, that's a shame. The Stevie Nicks we got in 1994, 1998, and these past few years is nothing compared to the Stevie Nicks of yesteryear and never will be, imo.

Well, she looked so out of it in some of the WH stuff and then that is sort of when she started singing anything but the meoldy, on occasion singing only the first note of the melody. But, I like a lot of the material from that era.

But, yes, the latter ones you referred to will never be that thin, lithe, beautiful, youthful, whistful, spontaneous, doe eyed girl.

Personally, I think BD will win this, WH will come in second, Enchanted third, and SA fourth - but we will see and I like them all. So, we are IMO picking from the best of the best here.

I loved the RAL show I saw, but it was really hard to see her looking somewhat bloated and mostly incoherent from drugs. I also just cannot stand that not singing of the melody thing was way waaaayyyyy into my RAL. But, the shows were mostly good even if that thin, lithe, beautiful, youthful, whistful, spontaneous, doe eyed girl was gone by then.

Well, alot of people, including myself, really enjoyed the "Enchanted" setlist and the "Street Angel" performances... She sang the hell out of those shows, without getting crazy on the vocals and talking during the melodies, ala the "Rock A Little" and "Wild Heart" tours...

I like the others better. You guys see how silly the drug talk has grown? It's gotten to the point now where the newer fans don't even know which tour Stevie was stoned on.

We're doing a grave disservice to Stevie Nicks history.

The enchanted tour ... I think that's when I started walking out of Stevie Nicks shows ...

Why? I thought this was a really great tour. She didn't move a lot but her vocals were great and the song selection is awesome. When I was there in 98 I was so exicted when Gold and Braid started and I Was expecting her to do those kicks again like on the In concert video. That upset me.

The other tours were better. White winged dove tour her voice was very pure and beautiful. WH she did tons of ad libs and looked amazing. Enchanted she added Sleeping Angel, Rose Garden etc. which I really enjoyed.

I did love her voice on Street Angel though. She totally rocked.

 The set list was AMAZING! It is people like you who force us to hear the same freekin' preformance of Gold dust woman every bloddy tour! Mixing it up was like air. Shure, no kicks and slow spins, but hey, Sleeping angel In the original key!!! :blob2:

 The set list was AMAZING! It is people like you who force us to hear the same freekin' preformance of Gold dust woman every bloddy tour!First of all, let me assure you that it isn't people like me who force us to hear the same freekin' preformance of Gold Dust Woman every bloddy tour. I was ready & eager for Stevie to retire GDW & all her other warhorses by the 1989 tour.

Secondly, I don't think the set list was considerably more "amazing" in 1998 than it was for most of her other tours. It had exactly a handful of fresh songs (Gold & Braid, After the Glitter Fades, Rose Garden, Garbo, Sleeping Angel) -- great choices although one could argue too many ballads. The rest of the set was old hat -- Outside the Rain, Dreams, Gold Dust Woman, Stop Dragging My Heart Around, Stand Back, Rhiannon, Whole Lotta Trouble, Landslide, Edge of Seventeen, I Need to Know, Has Anyone Ever Written.

She did four or five new songs on several other tours, too (at least at the beginning): 1989 had Juliet, Rooms on Fire, Alice, Two Kinds of Love; 2001 had Planets, Sorcerer, Fall from Grace, Every Day & Too Far From Texas; & the 1981 tour was the clear winner in terms of new material because it had Blue Lamp, Gold & Braid, I Need to Know, Bella Donna, Stop Dragging My Heart Around, Think About It, After the Glitter Fades, Edge of Seventeen, How Still My Love, Leather & Lace & Outside the Rain.

But for some inexplicable reason, the 1998 tour strikes many fans as being the best, most daring, freshest set list. I think the addition of those five songs was great, but the tour is unjustifiably singled out.
Mixing it up was like air. Shure, no kicks and slow spins, but hey, Sleeping angel In the original key!!! :blob2:What was the original key of "Sleeping Angel"? And why is original key so important? Did Fleetwood Mac's "Angel" not work on the 1979/1980 tour because it wasn't in the original key? In fact, it was moved up a whole step & not actually lowered. The only time a change in key actually bugged me in terms of audio effect was dropping "Stop Dragging" in 2001. It turned sluggish & dirgelike, which is precisely what that song ISN'T when you hear old recordings of the Heartbreakers play it.

Why? I thought this was a really great tour. She didn't move a lot but her vocals were great and the song selection is awesome.I thought it was okay. My conception of "great vocals" isn't someone singing full-chest through every single song, which is essentially what Stevie's been doing since those days. Her vocals have lost a lot of their old pliability: their inclination to swoop & swirl & soar & dive in terms of both tonality & dynamics. (How often do you hear her whisper during the live performance of a song these days?)

So it's just a question of personal preference: I happen not to really prefer her middle-age voice, so I left the shows after I had had enough for the evening. I think I've been leaving early ever since (except for this year & the final year of Fleetwood's tour, when I didn't go at all).

I'm really pushing for the WWD tour to win. Her voice was flawless, all singing, full of emotion, full of sexy moves, and how hot was she in that mini skirt/boots combo in the In Concert video? Bouncing along to EO17, the Gold and Braid kicks, this tour has it all...except Stand Back. I'm willing to give up Stand Back for Bella Donna, Blue Lamp, and the rest of the songs that have already been mentioned.

I'm voting for The Wild Heart tour.

You left off "Twisted"... so here's the new list:

Gold And Braid
After The Glitter Fades
Rose Garden
Garbo
Sleeping Angel
Twisted

so that's 6 fresh songs in all.. name another Stevie solo tour in which she pulled out 6 obscure songs like that..

You're right -- I left off "Twisted," although she did "Twisted" in exactly the same arrangement at four of her one-up shows in 1996: the Phoenix benefit, the St. Petersburg Pier, Columbus & Boston.

Anyway, my point was that "Enchanted" is held up as this grand time because the whole set was so ... "amazing," I think is the word people often use ... but she throws in new songs on many of her tours (five new songs on the 2001 tour), so I don't understand why "Enchanted" is considered so much better than those other tours.
