In light of the other reality show threads, I figured I would create this one. I know there are a lot of Survivor fans on here, and I for one and VERY excited to watch this season. Comes on tonight as you all know at 8PM (thankfully the President's speech on Katrina comes on at 9PM and doesn't affect it!)


You east coasters will get to see it before us here on the west coast, so no spoilers...

I watched the first season of Survivor... but haven't seen any of the others. Can't get into it for some reason. :shrug:

I don't know if I like the two survivors coming back thing. I wish they'd just play it simple without all the stupid SHOCKING!TWISTS!

Thursdays in that time slot are going to be rough, man. Survivor, The OC, and Alias. What's a tv addict to doooooo?

I never liked Burton, but I was a big fan of Greg from last season. Hotttttt. He looked like Superman.

I wanna know how long its gonna take for the contestants to figure out Gary Hogeboom was a qaurterback for the Cowboys? Incidentally, I'm rooting for Gary cause my friend hates the Cowboys with a passion, and he was PISSED after he didnt get kicked off tonight. :mad: I'ts gonna be fun for me every week he stays on to watch my friend get more pissed. :lol: :lol:

I probably wouldnt have known, even though I'm an nfl fan. he's one of thoe guys that uyou mention his name, and its OH yeah, I remember him. I know I saw this girl with a FOOTBALL CHICK shirt on. It'll b e interesting to se what happens if they both last long enough till the tribes merge

Stephanie is my all time favorite Survivor EVER, so I am so happy she is back. I just hope they don't vote her off because she was already in Pulau. She is such an asset. Bobby John..eh, I can take him or leave him.

Yeah, Stephanie kicks butt! I was so glad her team won the immunity challenge, because I was a little nervous that they would vote her off right away. I didn't feel that bad for the other team because it wasn't so much of a stratagy vote as much as who is the sickest at this point. They did Jim a favor really. Those guys were really hurting. It was pretty scary when Bobby Johns eyes were rolling in the back of his head!

Yikes! I've never seen so many wimpy men! LOL Awww...poor babies. I was really worried about Bobby Jon for a minute there - that was scary.

I heard an interview with Probst this morning on DC101 in Washington

Continuously hyped how Guatemala would be the hardest yet- 4 guys on their backs, puking in the first episode. Vanuatu and Palau were nothing compared to this. No beaches, very hot, only a lake filled with crocodiles. It was also quite tough for the crew, who have gotten used to hotels for the past few seasons.

Wouldn't comment on who is returning, but more or less confirmed it wasn't Romber. They had been considering this twist for a while. It adds an interesting dynamic- are the returning players valuable allies because they know how the game works or do they know too much and are therefore a threat?

Gary Hogeboom decided to lie about his past and say he in real estate or landscaping. He made up the alias Hawkins or something like that. Danni is a sports nut and she apparently thought, "Is that Gary Hogeboom?" His strategy if anyone recognized him was to say, "Oh, I get that all the time." He didn't tell Jeff that he planned on using the alias, but a producer told him early on so Jeff wouldn't accidentally slip.

Only one other player has lied about his name on Survivor. Minutes before Africa started, a contestant named Chip pulled Jeff aside and said he wished to be known as Silas.

Danni is sharp, but Jeff was unaware of her pageant experience. He thinks she was never really a big pageant girl.

Jeff took a big pay cut from Access Hollywood to appear in the first Survivor, to about $100k. CBS knew if he didn't want it, someone else would, and they called it a potential star-making move.


A sucks poster was in on a conference call later today.

Jeff said he almost accidentally outted Gary at a challenge. He characterized Danni's recognition of Gary as instantaneous

They have different last names though, so unless one of them was adopted, I guess the "second shocking twist" won't be that they're brother and sister.
(I did, however, find it interesting to read that, according to a friend of Blake's family, Blake didn't set out to be on Survivor, but that the producers "came looking for him.")

There are 3 contestants this season who have a twin. Could be a possible twist later in the game?? I can't remember now who they are, but you can view everyone's profiles on cbs.com. :p

I think Blake might be the next to go. The previews next week show him really sick. He looked so bad my husband commented he might actually be removed by the medics. Stephanie did say she had brothers when she was in Pulau. (Palau?) Her letter from a family member was from her brother. The name wasn't Blake, that I remember, but they could have changed it. Maybe they are twins. It would be pretty unfair to have a couple of sets of siblings though, wouldn't it?

BTW...why are they considering eating ants next week? Didn't they just get three bags of corn and some fruit? Make some damn tortillas! Save the ants until you run out of corn or rice.
