Since I wouldn't be able to choose, write "Storms," "Sable On Blonde," and "Trouble In Shangri-La" on three pieces of paper, put them in a hat, mix them up, and make me draw one.

Well Stand Back is my favorite Stevie song but if I was stuck on a desert island I'd have to pick my second favorite, Rooms on Fire, because it has a personal story for me connected to it whereas SB is my favorite song but I don't relate it to any particluar person/incident in my life.

This is tough. I like different Stevie songs at different times of the day, you know? For instance, I always like the more rocking tunes in the morning to get me going (Edge live, old school Rhiannon live, Long way to go, stand back, etc) and i like the slower songs at night. GDW, Storms, Sara, Thrown down, LOVE IS(am i like the only one who really likes this song?), to name a few.

Have been known to leave that song on repeat for hours on end.
I have a question about the premise though...
Does this mean that this is the only song we get to listen to for all eternity, or just the only Stevie song (but we still get to listen to other artists)? If it's the former, I'd rather commit suicide than listen to nothing but her. :sorry:

Yes we do have fine taste  I do have the acapella version. You know, you may have heard it. I call it acapella, but you can hear some music faintly. So I guess it really isn't acapella. If you have the Mistaken Love master reel, it's on there. It's the same as the full version on there but the music is scaled down. It's cool though because it puts a whole new spin on the harmonies to hear them almost by themselves. If you haven't heard it let me know. Next time I'm at my parent's house I'll take advantage of there DSL and send it to you if you want it.

I have one particular friend who didn't even know who Stevie was but was in love with this song from Practical Magic and when I played it for her she practically passed out.
The lyrics, the music, the arrangement, and her voice all make this song a true classic IMO. As someone said earlier the others versions are boring in comparision and don't convey nearly the emotion that this one does.
My very favorite part of the song is the last 1 1/2 minutes when it's just that particular guitar part (doo doo doo doo lol) and her beautiful voice singing "IIIIIIII turned around and the water was closing around me" doo doo doo doo. Sometimes I just listen to that part over and over. You know what part I'm talking about?

I know exactly what part you're talking about... it's such a different arrangement for a Stevie song.. which is part of the reason why i like it so much.. the ending sorta drifts away, slowly, with the strings playing in the background... Ms. Crow did a fine job producing both of the PM songs, imo...
and yes, a PM Crystal appreciation thread is definately in order :wavey:
