Over the years, I've seen some interesting names ( coworkers, friends, etc.) I'm not starting this thread to make fun of anybody, I just think some names are very unique, for better or worse. Here goes:

First name Yu, last name Ho.

I was reading the obits last week (I don't know why I do this) and a woman was survived by several kids including her son Nimrod.

First names Nugget, Jafrica, Precious, Charm.

Last names Kuntz, Phuc, Gay (my cousin)

I knew a family in high school who named all their daughters Mary with different middle names (Mary Kate, Mary Ann, Mary Beth, Mary Carol, etc.) There were 7 or 8 of them.

We recently had someone come into the office. Their first name is: .

No lie; try filing that one.

Really original names that I think are beautiful:
Lux (really)
Devin
Aubrey (my Goddaughter)
Lindon

Anyone else heard any unique names that you loved or gave you a chuckle?

My father has an uncle or second uncle (I've never met him) named Thomas Thomas. And I always get a kick out of the name of one of the news stations weather reporters : Amy Freeze. My extended family all lives in Ohio, included a cousin, named Trenton. My immediate family and I live throughout NJ, so my grandfather in OH jokes by called Trenton , "N. J."

LOL ....Yu Ho   Sucks to be her...

This isn't a particularly funny name...but a top Kodak Exec is named Charles Brown...But he insists on going by Charlie...

I could NOT read that without laughing ...and he was in mylead story in my newscasts..

Kodak CEO Charlie Brown or whatever...omg....I'm an idiot...

I knew a Dick Head.....went to high school with his son.

In college, I met a girl named Reaganomic. She went by Reagan, though.

I worked with a girl a few summers ago whose name is Unique.

The funny thing was that we had a temp working with us who forgot her name, and came up to me to ask what it was:

Temp: "I'm so embarrassed, what was her name again? I remember it was a really unique name..."

Me: " (Laugh) Yeah - it actually *is* Unique."

Temp: " (A little pissed) Ha-ha - don't bust my balls - what's her name?"

It was a total unintentional Who's On First moment...

Ditto my sister. The girl married a guy named Mike Ball. Sandy Beech Ball.

Here are my corkers :

The drug store Kids - Modess, Benaedryl, Suetafette.

Remarkably clunky girl name in Portland newspaper : Marqueeshia.

Some other random silly ones : Mecca, Paisley, P.A., Binky, Blue, and Bruscetta.

Years ago, I had the cut out page from a 1980's Portland phone book, which no lie, had a listing for Penelope Poopstain. It must have been a joke, but we laughed about it for YEARS.

I also knew someone with the last name Cummins, Buttkus (prounced buttkiss), Cox, and Ingledinger

Funniest name I've ever heard: Sor Wang.

Not sure if these are too weird, but I know they stuck out in my mind!

If her middle name was "fresh", that would be awesome.
I knew a girl named Kresta. It's not too weird, but it really does just sound like "Crest" with an 'a' at the end. Whenever i'd be all "blah blah Kresta blah" my parents would be like "Cresta, Gleama, and Aima?" Gleam and Aim were apparently other brands of toothpaste at the time.

I have worked in OB at my hospital and people name their kids some strange things. No kidding, this lady named her kid Shi' Thead (Thead is like thread without the r, but the spelling!) One lady named her baby Heaven Le'Angel.

What about Dick Buttkis? Isn't he a sports announcer?

When I named Sara, I made D*MN sure that her name, to say it all out loud, flowed right. I even made sure here initials were right. Also, it's so funny when I go out with my girl friends back home in Shawnee, OK. Guys will come up and ask our names and my friends cringe. I have a friend (male) who named his two daughters, Crystal and Tiffany, I was like- WTF- Lampshade twins?? plus they have a long Italian last name...just stupid..doesn't "go" with either first name.

I knew a chick names Crystal that married a guy named Ball so -Crystal Ball
I knew a Candy Kane, David David, and also a Dick Fizzle,
Poor basta**d
Little off subject but worth a mention
I'm a Secretary in an elementary school and you should see the names of new kids entering Kindergarten or First grade... No more Mary's or Susan's or Karen's or whatever is fairly normal. They all have first names that could be last names- Very confusing when reqistering them for classes. We have lots of:
Logan
Dakota
Grayson
Madison
Bailey
Hayleigh

And then we have the ...is it a boy or girl? cuz they are both
Morgan
Hunter
Jordan
Brennan

Very confusing... because most of these people, their last names are like:
Mason
Cooper
Major
Grant
Raine
Marshall
any of these last names could fit into my first name list!!

So to end my babbling.....Let's stick to real first names people!!! and lets make them gender specific!!!

^ Madison is one of the most popular girl names now. I believe it was on the top 3 most popular list last year.

I wonder why people chose the "most popular names" for their kids? I'd look at that list, and chose something completely different. Not "Sinkstrainer" or "Jumblepoxia" or "Lederhosenfart" but something old fashioned.

My theory is that everyone thinks "they thought of it"
Then you get a class of kids with 8 Ashley's

Well, that can be true in a way. I named my daughter Olivia and had no idea it was a popular name again. I thought she would be the only Olivia in her class. She started preschool last week and when I went to pick her up, they asked for her name. I said Olivia and they said.....which one, there's 3 Olivias! So much for not having a common name!

I like like it, too. But there are just so many Madisons now! If I ever have another girl I want to name her Layla Rhiannon. My Mom gave me the most evil look when I said that! I think it would be cool to be named after 2 great classic rock songs.

I know someone called Annette Curtain. Seriously.

And yeah, I'd love to call my daughter Rhiannon, if I have one. Going to have to do a lot of work to persuade my mother though...

I really wanted to name my daughter Rhiannon. I was strongly vetoed by EVERYONE I know. And they all said if I named her that they would call her soemthing else. I don't know what the problem is...it's not an ugly name or anything. I guess they all just think I'm nuts.

"our leaders"

Dick & Bush.

this reminds me of what George "The REAL God" Carlin said about the first Gulf War:

"The leaders in charge of the military are Dick Cheney and Colin Powell...Dick & Colin, Doesnt it sound like someone is gonna get f**ked?"
