If you got to motorolla.com-you can hear a sample of Hung Up and it's totally sampling Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie A Man After Midnight by ABBA. Way too cool. I guess it's just one version but I just got REALLY excited for the new album.
I looked everywhere for a thread about this but I didn't see it.

Rumor has it that the new album will have the songs continuing into each other without a break in between songs.

She and the team of writer that are reported to have written most of her material must really be running out of new ideas.

me too ...and for an older artist it usually signifies that they are becoming creatively bankrupt.I'll bet there won't be any sampling on Kate Bush's new album though, but then she is a musical genius as opposed to a media manipulating genius.

it's out Nov. 8 in the US ,a double lp called 'Aerial' .there was a whole thread about it on here not too long ago. I'm sure it's just a page or 2 down.

Where's the sample? I don't see it.It's a little sample of the flute from "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme."
It's hardly anything to crucify her over.
By the way, this isn't the first time she's sampled another song. Off the top of my head, "Justify My Love," "Erotica" and "Human Nature" also sample brief snippets of other songs.
Madonna is essentially a dance/pop artist. Comparing her to Kate Bush is pointless, because the only similarity they possess is that they're both female. They work in completely different styles and genres.

I mean on the motorola website where can I hear the Madge song?
And I was wondering why Kate Bush came up in a Madonna thread. They are birds of a very different feather.
I love the sample of Hung Up you posted. Muchas gracias!

That's not quite the only similarity .They are both the same age .born in 1958, and back when Kate was a huge star in Britain in the mid 80s there was a big rivalry between both of their fan bases there ,Kate's fanzine Homeground even had a cartoon strip in it depicting the rivalry there between the two..Each of thier fan bases voted in various NME and Melody Maker polls to try and upstage the other. Also I'd say being females that also happen to be the exact same age and make popular music albums no matter the genre is more than a little in common.I still think my analogy was a good one.

Sure they are birds of a different feather .Kate is a one in a million gifted songbird.Madonna is a woman of very oridinary vocal and musical talents with very extraordinary talents of surrounding herself with talented people and at least at one time of anticipating pop culture before it happened.

Just seems so silly to pit them against each other, as those two women couldn't possibly be more different musically.

Why must artists always be pitted against each other over the most basic of similarities? (That's not directed at you, Robert... just a rhetorical question.)

True I just didn't think a Madonna /Kate rivalry would be as incendiary here as a Christine /Stevie one,and I do think Stevie and Chris actually have alot more in common than Kate and Madonna. Besides a little comparing and contrasting is fun sometimes .Especially if it can take your mind off of other more real things even for a few minutes.

Besides a little comparing and contrasting is fun sometimes .Especially if it can take your mind off of other more real things even for a few minutes.I usually like certain artists for such different reasons that it never even occurs to me to compare them.
When I think of Kate's music, Madonna never enters my mind... and vice versa.
But then, I am self-admitted weirdo!

Did you know Madonna and Kate are the same age? They were both born summer of 1958 and are both 47! Go girls!
You can't compare them.
If you go to motorolla.com and wait, there is a phone in the middle and they will show all the artists and you can click Madonna.
I have heard the new single, her voice is actually very good and there is NO ABBA. I guess that was just for fun...it was rumoured awhile she was going to use ABBA so I guess it's for a mix maybe? Maybe for those across the pond who actually LIKE ABBA.
