That sounds like a hoax to me.
They are going to create a database of cell phone numbers for telemarketers, but you're going to have to opt *in* for them to be able to get your number.

The National Do Not Call List is NOT a hoax. If you do not sign up, you WILL recieve telemarketing calls on your cell phones, and you WILL be charged for them, and no amount of arguing with Sprint or Verizon or Nextel will change that.
This has been common knowledge for over a year now!

Wise. Very, very wise... My friends get so annoyed with me when they call from a number I don't know, because I won't answer.

Or if people wanna harass you, they use that annonymous call thing. I had this person that I had a falling out with, and they called me a few times that way before I got wise to it. :)

Yeah, that is why I have anonymous call block on my phone.
I also have a cordless phone that has a telezapper feature. If a automatic dialer calls my house my phone zaps their system and that removes my name from their auto dialer list.

Yup, or as I do, If I dont recognize the #, I just dont answer it. :angel:Yeah, mine is already getting them, too. I finally learned to ignore numbers I don't know most of the time. I've answered and gotten machines talking to me about buying things. Also, I get ads sent to me in text mesages.

My favorite telemarketing calls are the ones where 'they' call to talk to me about my 'mortgage application'; or, to discuss refinancing my mortgage. What mortgage? I'll ask them...only to have them stammer over their words. Most of the time, though, they are prerecorded messages.
