I-m spending vacations at California. Right now I-m at Rosarito, south of Tijuana. full of people because of (US) labor day.
las week i went to see Donna Summer at Anaheim. She was great, her voice is still the same, as powerful as in the 70s. she added Natural Woman, With a little help from my friends, and Nights in white satin, to her set list, besides her classic hits, finshing with Last Dance of course. I was very close to the stage.
she is very nice and funny, she talk to her public a lot.

Cool. Sounds like it was a great show. She didn't do "Love to Love You, Baby," did she? I thought maybe there was some minute chance, though I heard that she vowed never to do that one live again.

I <3 Donna.
Her voice is fantastic after all these years. The only one in the world (except for the BeeGees) that can still pull off Disco hits.

Wonder why? :rolleyes:Are you asking that sarcastically? I get confused about the rolleyes smilie often, it seems. If you're not being sarcastic, I saw on VH-1 that she said the song is too sexual and it offended her Christian friends and family and so she wasn't going to perform it anymore.

Hey, she DID "Love to love you" !!!!!!!
I was in shock, since i knew she said she would never sing it again for the reasons GateandGarden said. But she did that song and it was great!!! People got so excited. Actually it was part of a medley with I feel love and other songs. She didn't do the sexual screams as intense as in the past.. but it was cool anyway
And she talked to people a lot, and did jokes. She said about this girl from Long Island, at a concert, she was shouting Donna! Donna! What's up with the cake!!!
She told us she was really surprised.. After all these years singing that song, I thought you knew!!
well she explained for those who didn't know that the cake out in the rain is a metaphore, about not taking care of your love. she said "it's like living your bf in a room with angelina jolie... sorry angie!!!"
BTW, for those who want to know about the set list, this was:
She Works Hard for the Money
Once Upon A Time
I Love You
You are so Beautiful
MacArthur Park
Could It Be Magic
Smile
Witha a little Help from My friends (with all the audience singing the chorus)
On The Radio (with 5 guests from audience, at stage)
I Got your love
Natural Woman
Le Imagine Cafe (performed by her husband Bruce)
My Man Medley
No More Tears (with her sister)
Nights In White Satin
Try Me/I Feel Love/ Love to Love You baby
Cold Love
Bad Girls
Hot stuff

Thanks for the setlist. How cool must that have been to be at a concert when she decides she's going to do that song live again? That must have been great to hear. I love the comment abou the cake out in the rain, too. I've always found that part of that song funny.

Oh yes, check carefully the list, she did play OTR, and as every concert of this tur, she picked 5 people from audience to go up for the chorus (the OH OH OH), one of them was his birthday
