Funny. I was 26 too. Not by choice at all. It just sorta happened that way. All hell most certainly did not break loose after that. I guess I just have no idea how all these things work and the older i get, the more weird i get about it all. In the words of Morrissey "The story is old, I know, but it goes on..."

Oh, I've got plenty of pent up energy...
why did you give me so much desire?
when there is nowhere I can go
to offload this desire?
and why did you give me so much love
in a loveless world?
when there is no one I can turn to
to unlock all this love
and why did you stick me in
self-deprecating bones and skin
Jesus - do you hate me?
why did you stick me in
self-deprecating bones and skin
... do you hate me?

What a weird coincidence... I was 26 my first time, too.
I had a lot of stuff to work through (and was still working through a few things even at that time), so I think I made the right decision waiting as long as I did.
I don't regret it... I've always been a quality over quantity kind of guy anyway.
Daniel, if it's a relationship you're looking for, I will say this from experience....
"Good things come to those who wait."
I used to always hate hearing that, but it's true. :D
Try not to dwell on it too much, remind yourself that "what will be, will be," and focus your energies on things that you enjoy. It'll find you when it's time.
But if it's just sex you're looking for... well, that seems extremely easy to find.

Weird, we've got a pile of 26-ers in the house!
I've been down the just sex path and was left feeling far more empty afterward than I did going in. So, I won't go there again. A client of mine found love for the first time at 40. So, I may just have to wait... and wait... and wait... In all honesty though, I don't want a relationship that often, but when I do, it becomes quite overwhelming.
Once again, to quote Morrissey: "My love, wherever you are, whatever you are, don't lose faith. I know it's gonna happen some day to you. Please wait. Don't lose faith."

I always thought it was a cliche... but now I'm thinking it's true... it'll happen when you're not expecting it or looking for it. You don't have to pretend you don't want it... that might give off the wrong vibe... just don't look too hard for it. (I'm assuming "it" is a relationship, not just sex!) You're a great guy, definitely a catch for someone... it'll happen.

Yes. Okay, not quite that bad, hehe. I'm the type who doesn't have a very big drive until there is an object for my fancy then it is outta control, like right now. I have a temp BF (sort of) who is moving to Oregon on Thurs. I sure know how to pick 'em! I'm not even sure we are compatible but there is so much passion there that it is intoxicating.
