Mad That She's McMissing
This letter is in regard to your overshadowing understated review of Fleetwood Mac's "Mirage" album. First, let me state my bewilderment with a review of a band that includes three prolific & stunning singer/songwriters, which has totally excluded not only one third of the band, but one third of the album.
Christine McVie not only exists, but she is the heartbeat & mainstay of Fleetwood Mac. Not only did you forget to mention her songs (except for a parenthetical aside about "Hold Me"), but by not commenting on them, have missed a major strength of "Mirage." The eloquent subtleness of her bittersweet tunes is never better expressed than in "Wish You Were Here," nor her lust for being in love than in "Only Over You." In disregarding these songs, you have missed the key to the success of the album.
