Weird thread I know. Does anybody else get these? Mine are really strong and I really don't like them coz what I have them about are bad things. I wouldn't mind if they were good things. I'm talking about random feelings about something completely not relevant to anything and knowing almost absolutely these things will happen. Sometimes these aren't logical intuitions or premonitions. They're just random. I've never brought this up with anybody and never had them until I got clean and drug-free. Anybody else have them?

I can always sense when something is about to happen....March 21 of this year was the worse premonition I had since Oct.22,1977 (I sensed that something bad would be happening both of those days...And losing both parents is as brutal as life can be.)

I talked to older sis Lesa tonight and I told her I had a weird feeling about something was going to happen (This is after I talked with her at lengths about my ex-fiancee Christy) and lo-and-behold Christy emails me out of the blue (I am still at a loss for words, she was the first person I truly loved.)

I called Lesa late this evening and told her about the emails and she said "Well, You said you felt something was going to happen....", Seems to be a weird inherited family trait.

I'm glad I'm not alone but I am so sorry about your parents. Are your premonitions about specific things? I have them about specific things happening and some details but the incidents themselves are random. Like there's no reasoning. Eerie. Do you have good ones? I WANT good ones.

i get them, along w/ deja vu when the stuff happens~ it's weird, sometimes i will get this overwhelming feeling to turn on the news, like msnb one of the big stations & when i do it is always a huge breaking story, i always watch the TODAY show but on 9-11 i didn't, my son was sick so i let him watch cartoons on the "big t.v.", then i was overwhelmed w/ this feeling like i had to just turn the channel to the TODAY show & i saw the 1st plane hit~ it used to scare me but it has happened quite alot over my life, so now i just listen to my instincts so to speak & thank god none of them have been over bad things happening to family members or friends (i feely bad for you brian)~ i have also had them over lighthearted things such as i have mentioned on here awhile back~ i will start seeing stevie in my head & can't turn on the video stations quick enuf & 9 times outa 10 stevie or fm will be playing~ now that freaks out the hubby, cuz i will call it out loud, like saying "STEVIE" & change the channel & there she/fm will be~ nutso i know but ~ or whata about having plans to leave but feeling like for some reason you shouldn't leave at that time & then finding out there was an accident on the road you would be traveling~ i just listen to them/my gut cuz mostly the have been accurate~

& welcome back!!! :wavey: ~

I get them sometimes. I have dreams sometimes and they come true. Or I will just see something in a dream and then see it again the next day or a couple of days later. It happened earlier this week actually. I had a vision in a dream. I was checking my email and there was a strange email address from a yahoo group I belong to. A new person had joined. 2 days later there was the email address in my inbox! It kind of freaked me out...

I get them all the time. There are times when they are stronger or more frequent. It's completely random though. :)

I get them all the time, along with deja-vu. I hate it, because it's always about something stupid or random, like reading a book or something.

good ones....After I talked to Lesa I kept sensing something else was goin' to happen, And yep the top radiator hose on our car tore open as Deb drove the car home last night. I know that sounds trivial, But I sense all kinds of ****...It's always something bad and never anything good.

I dont have any specific premonitions, But I do always have this sickening feeling in my stomach that appears right when I sense something is going to happen...And I follow that feeling more so than I used to.

but on the morning of Sept.11,2001 I awoke sick at my stomach and proceeded to view my previous nights dinner in the porcelain God...I looked at the clock and the time here in Oklahoma was 7:43AM CST (An hour behind NYC's EST).

Why I awoke sick was strange, So instead of turning on the TV I went back to bed to only be awoke at 12:00PM by my friend in Savannah, GA named Kelli, Who called to tell me to turn on the TV, "Which channel?" I replied..."Any" was her response, I knew something bad must have happened...Turned on the TV to see a replay of the second tower collapsing and my only response was "Holy ****!".

I felt that same sense of dread in my stomach at 5:00PM on March 21st this year...To only find out 7 minutes later my Mother had died.

I wouldnt wish this feeling on anyone.

The really interesting thing about premonitions is thinking about what time and space actually are, and also - Did your whole life already get planned out? And if so, how far into the future is your life's pattern predictable? Can you change your pattern; is it only forseeable for a fairly short period ahead of you? And if you have premonitions about world events, or something that doesn't really have anything to do with you, doesn't that mean that everything is connected much more than people think? That all of our patterns are intertwined and possibly predestined to some degree?
Anyway, I love thinking about it, it's very interesting.
I don't really get premonitions, though. However, I often can tell what my friends are thinking. For instance, I will think something in my head, and a second later my friend will say it. I can't figure out if I'm picking up on what they're thinking, or if me thinking it made them think and say it, but I suspect the former.

Hi Lux! Thanks for the welcome back, Jill!

Amber, I think our lives are planned out and that's why we have these. I think sometimes we muck it up (I'm controlling my gutter mouth now) and then things have to get back into swing. My auntie has a theory about why I have them now. She said my senses were so dulled by my using that now everything is coming in much sharper than it would ordinarily. That makes sense. I spent most of my life in a stupor and now I see things almost too keenly. I wasn't totally clean when I first started having them but I was *clean-er*, meaning I'd slowed down. If I had them about something good, I could deal. I don't want to have them about something bad. So, Estranged, I can so relate. But I do think our lives are planned out coz there really is no explaining it any other way. If there was any relation at all between the premonition and the timing or circumstances, then maybe it's coincidence. But there isn't. Weird.

That's interesting.
I'm not sure things are predestined....
Does all time exist at once? Does our subconscious pick up the molecular patterns, and so predict the correct outcome of those patterns?
anyway, it's fun to think about, maybe someday I'll know the answer... :)

I have had it once. It was when my husband died. I was about 10 minutes from home, and I knew he was gone, I knew how he was gone, I knew where he was in the house... I knew everything amost down to the last detail. Needless to say I called the cops.

Sara, I am so sorry about your husband. Your husband was Jason? I can see where at a moment like that, your premonition would be very strong. You were probably very bonded to each other. And I read you have a little girl? Peace to you.

I don't have premonitions in the normal sense of the word.....I mean, I don't see things when I am awake. What freaks me out is that I have dreams that come true in a very literal way. Sometimes the dreams are good.....and more often they are not, so when I have a nightmare....which is all too common...I am paranoid for weeks, even months at times, that it may come to fruition. Usually though, I know....it's always the dreams that have people I know in them. Most of my dreams feature total strangers - well, stangers to me anyway. Interestingly enough....I do believe that the past, present and future are concurrent, and so when I have a dream that later turns out to happen just the way I dreamed it, I then start to wonder if my dreams aren't dreams at all, but rather, small trips into the future.

Here is a good example.... Several years ago, I dreamed about a fight in the woods between me and a good friend of mine....well, formerly a good friend....we don't really talk anymore. In my dream, he (I'll call him Jim) picked up a big log and violently threw it at me (we were camping). About six months later, 'Jim' and I, and his wife and several other friends all decided to go camping, since they were moving out of state, and this would be our last chance to get into the wilderness and have a good time together. The camping trip was a couple of weeks before my birthday, and so 'Jim's' wife gave me my birthday present while we were driving into the mountains. It was a book titled "Psychic Dreaming"

The second day we were in the mountains...'Jim', and our friend Mike got into a HUGE fight over something really very minor. Boys will be boys....and they were 'sword fighting' with marshmallow roasting sticks...'Jim' got hit in the temple area, and totally flipped out. Before I knew it, he and his wife were packing up and leaving, and when I tried to intervene and calm things down(I'm always the peacemaker) 'Jim' got VERY angry with me, and no f-ing joke, he picked up a log that was probably nine feet long and eight inches in diameter and started swinging it at me like a baseball bat! The whole while he's screaming at me, "You wanna start some **** with me too, motherf-er!!!??? Huh? Do you?!?!?!"

*sigh* I miss him. You have to understand....we were friends several years....so the whole thing was strange. I still, to this day, wonder why he got so angry with me?

I have to add that, I never did read that Psychic Dreaming book.

Yes, Jason was my husband. I have a little girl that's soon to be 7.

This is what happens to me. Or I wake up with something particular and specific on my mind. One very concrete example was whent he Iraq war first started. I woke up with the notion that a newscaster, David Bloom, was going to die. I told several people. They said since he was not in combat, the danger was unrealistic. Then about 2 days later he died of a blood clot. That has been the one I told the most people about before it happened also. But sometimes they are vague and hard to interpret.
