I had the weirdest dream last night....I had a dream that I met Rhiannon in this otherworldly place and she told me that Stevie is a lesbian and in a long term relationship with Lori. She said the marriage between Lori and Chris is a farce. She said "isn't it obvious that if Chris were really married to Lori do you think he would be pursuing female fans at concerts?"
Then she went into this whole diatribe about, "sure men cheat on their wives, but his cheating is so public and blatant and you have to admit, Lori is very pretty, why would he need anything else and why would he risk bring a disease home to her? It doesn't matter how "careful" he is, there is always a risk. They are not really married so there is no risk".
Then Rhiannon told me that "Stevie really wanted a baby, but couldn't have one of her own because of some "problems" in the past, then along comes Jessie and that Jessie is a product of Chris and Lori, little part of Lori, little part of Stevie so to speak, nice genetic makeup. Lori and Jessie live in the main house with Stevie, Chris lives out in the guest house. It seems so obvious".
I stood there in my dream kinda shocked and wondering why she was telling me all this??!! It really is none of my business. Then she went on to tell me several other things that "stevie really needs to know", which I would rather not repeat to anyone (other than Stevie herself, which of course in reality (important word!!) I will never have the opportunity to do)... Things about her future and other details about Stevie's life that "only Stevie and a small group should know". What I have typed above doesn't even scratch the surface of the conversation I had with Rhiannon in the dream. It was really intense.
I have been awake for 4 hours and I am still "all affected and freaked out" by my dream. In my dream she told me things I didn't need to know. But she kept stressing how important it was that I DO know these things. I will say it is one of the longest, clearest, most vivid dreams I have ever had in my life. I knew I shouldn't have eaten that pizza right before bed. Freaking weird dreams!!!

Not the first time the lesbian thing has come up (dream or real life), so maybe it was somewhere in your subconscious, and that pesky pizza gave you memory reflux.... having researched the behaviour of rock musicians and famous people the last few years for my novel, nothing in your dream would actually surprise me anymore....
Who knew Rhiannon was such a big gossip...

You know, I once dreamed that Stevie had brought the house that was for sale at the end of my block. And from that point on, she was always dropping by borrowing things from me. Turns out, at least in my dream world, that Stevie is a bit of a nuiance. But it was JUST a dream. I'm kinda glad actually--apparently dream Stevie had a real hankering to borrow all of my favorite pairs of earrings.
But if Rhiannon comes back maybe you should just kindly direct her towards Stevie's way and tell her "I don't wanna know"? or something?

Stevie appears in my dreams every so often and occasionally we have a lesbian encounter. I wish I had more! P.S. She's good, very very good :p.
I would really love to know if Stevie has ever been with a woman sexually, perhaps in a 3-way (I'm thinking her, Sara, and Mick)? I know she would never fall in love with a woman but it seems likely she has at least slept with one or had a passionate kiss. Maybe not though...too bad I'll never know.

I've had many freaky Stevie dreams over the years. The worst was after my apt got robbed, and in the dream I had a robotic Stevie head rolling around my place to ward off burglars. Just Stevie's head (with the fierce hairstyle from the I Can't Wait video, of course) screwed onto a rolling metal base. Kinda like those robotic vacumm cleaners you see on late-night infomercials.
And last night, I had my first freaky Tori Amos dream. I've dreamt about her before, too, but never like this. It was an erotic dream, where I was in bed with my boyfriend. Then suddenly the door comes crashing in, and there stands Tori in a Hellraiser-style dominatrix outfit, saying something like "OK boys, now we're REALLY gonna get busy."

Last night I dreamt that I pulled all of my teeth out and couldn't afford dentures. Children taunted me by throwing Jumbones in my direction when I walked the streets. I died homeless, toothless, and penniless under a bridge at the age of 37, with a flask of raspberry schnapps in one hand and a useless toothbrush that I had found at a truck stop in the other. I suppose one could say that I simply could not look a challenge right between the eye.

LOL. What about some of her photo sessions with that Mary chick? There's one where Stevie's like touching her boob. I find it quite funny. I bet her and Robin used to practice kissing on each other.

I thought Stevie has said before she isn't interested in women because because she loves men too much.
Anyway I think you should really document your dream, I think they often have a way of coming true...at least maybe some of the things that you won't tell us you should write down.

Your dream rocks. I'm sure Stevie must have had at least one or two lesbian experiences, even if it was just kissing. I've always thought there was a lot of chemistry between her and Sharon. No shame in that. She sure was curious when it came to men (see other thread about Stevie's men) so why not chicks? Just makes sense.

I thought the quote was more like she couldn't be a lesbian coz she was too into guys. Not being interested and not being a lesbian are two different things. I might have that quote wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't switch teams a time or two.

I wouldn't be surprised about that either, but I would be surprised if Stevie herself ever admits it in an interview or that autiobiography she'll never write. Lesbian Stevie stories probably won't be made public until after she dies and some big mouth writes a tell all book about her that we'll all discount completely but run to Borders to buy.

Hi I would just like to say again to you...that even though you might not share them with us...I think you should write your experiences down...I don't think you are crazy at all.
I was told to NEVER write down what was said so that no one would ever find it....(there I go sounding crazy again)!! I will remember the details of those conversations for the rest of my life. They will never become "foggy". Those dreams had the most profound effect on me. Besides, in reality, what does it matter? I have no one to share any of this with, or at least no one in my life who cares about Stevie...
.....and if the things I was told ever do come to fruition I would NEVER say "hey I had a dream about that, look I wrote it in my journal" because who the hell would believe me anyway??!!
But I would feel pretty bad because I never got the chance to tell Stevie....and I won't even try because the last thing I want is to look crazy in front of Stevie... :distress: ...so I will quietly live with it....

Yeah it was kinda. But for the most part, I think dreams should never be taken seriously or as premonitions of events to follow. I understand being freaked out by images from nightmares because they were too horrible to imagine, such as death and violence. But to consider those dreams as secrets revealed that one must take to their death...that's more crazy than honorable.

I agree, but I think Reebok took the suggestion that he/she is crazy to heart, and I for one didn't read it as such, so I was hoping to make it clear that nobody here REALLY thought Reebok is anything other than a normal, sweetheart (kinda like the rest of us nutjobs... ;) )

Stevie would never, ever, ever say that if it were true.I think so, too. But why is that? She admits to so many other things that could be judged as "immoral" by others, so why would she hesitate with that? I didn't think she was concerned with having a squeaky clean, family-friendly image. Or is it her age, like if you're her age you remember a time when homosexuality was considered a mental illness and you simply don't want to joke about it or risk having yourself labeled as a homosexual even though you think yourself to be completely open-minded about it?

I would have to agree with that. I think in the 80's it was still considered information that was a career killer for women. Stevie has a lot of straight guys who love her and if she admitted she was with Robin or Lori or whomever those straight male fans would drop like flies. She was "....anyones fantasy..." and she probably wanted to keep it that way....I don't blame her for that...better to give the illusion of being straight and keep the whole gaggle of fans than alienate some....

She's got such a fanbase that she could share a little with each of the other members of FM; they could use them, I'm thinking. My attitude would be that if I lost fans over that, then they were fans I didn't need to begin with. Besides, what happened to all the straight guys who find two chicks having sex to be hot?

ALOT of straight men attend Stevie concerts. It would be a major loss in ticket/album sales to lose them. They adore her.
That whole "guys are into two women" thing--it's a fantasy they have that when it ACTUALLY does happen "it wasn't what they expected" - the ones I know who have been with two women--- walk away from the experience disheartened and feeling inadequate and would never put themselves in that situation again. Often the women will enjoy each other more and the guy gets neglected.....or so I have heard.... ;)

Even if she were bi, I'm sure she would be mostly interested in men.

She might be bisexual, but, bisexuality isn't a separate identity in everyone's eyes. She might be one of those who thinks of herself as 'more or less' straight with a bisexual encounter (or love affair) now and then. And then there wouldn't be anything to come out of the closet about.

About bisexuality and identity.. I don't know, I used to feel much like you, but really, I think the labelling itself (whether you take the 'straight' label or any other) is just artificial business.

That's mixing two things up: your preferences on the one hand and on the other hand, the need of society to put a big heavy label on it. It's the latter that bothers me, maybe more so because that bi-label I use for myself, hah, is so vague. Means no more than not gay or straight, doesn't it, but what IS it then? Maybe it isn't all that important in the end? Some people like apples, some prefer oranges, (got a Jeanette Winterson reference in there, lol) some change preference, some like both, but it's only one of many characteristics of a person, isn't it.
Ah bollocks, I think my brain's mush after work and I can't really remember what I meant exactly.

Tee hee. Since we've expanded to other kinds of Stevie dreams... I had one where Lindsey and Stevie were totally together and hiding from Kristen, and it was backstage after a show, and then in the hallway of their hotel, etc, and then Kristen came in with the kids and the nanny, and Linds was all like, it doesn't matter, I love you not her - but the weirdest thing by far is thatI was Stevie - so I was feeling everything that I imagined her feeling. It was really, really weird. SO realistic - and I woke up going, whoa. What the hell was that???

So here's an interesting question for us heterosexual ladies on the board.
Why do we sometimes have lesbian dreams, with Stevie or without?
I'll say almost all my lesbian activity has been confined to flirting with, and kissing, Stevie backstage. ((In my dreams, of course!)) Would I act on this in real life? I don't think so. I am afraid I am more a gay man in a woman's body! But I do love the Stevie dreams. I hope in writing this, I will have one tonight. They say you can dream about anything you want simply by thinking about it a while before bed. Wish me luck!!!

Not a bad thing at all! I snicker every time I hear Sheryl & Stevie singing Your Not the One (lyrics below)
It was obviously written about their relationship (and that was the last song they ever did together)--my thought is -- Sheryl figured she'd give it a try, and who better to give it try with than Stevie??!! Maybe Sheryl fell in love and wanted more than Stevie could give (because of Stevie's relationship with Lori).....just a thought.....
Late last night
I told you
I cannot do this,
I cannot hold you
I'm about to be gone
There is no choice now
It cannot be done
'Cause you're not the one
(You're not the one)
I wish I could change the way I feel
I wish I could just get real
I wish I could love you
The way you love me
But it cannot be done
'Cause you're not the one
No baby, I never lied
You're not the one
Undecided and mystified
You're not the one
Out of control,
I cannot deny
You're not the one
No baby, I never lied
(Please accept my apology)
I never meant for you to see this
I never meant for you to fall in love
(You're not the one)
No I never meant for you to fall in love
'Cause you're not the one
(You're not the one)
No baby, I never lied
You're not the one
Undecided and mysified
You're not the one
Out of control,
There is no denying
You're not the one
Ooh baby, I never lied
You're not the one
Tread softly, I never could
Just not the one
Keep listening, I thought I did
You're not the one
"I love you" I never said
I cannot pretend
You're not the one
You're not the one
(Please accept my apology)
You're not the one
You're just not the one
Baby last night I told you
I can not do this
I can not hold you
I wish I could change the way I feel
But I cannot pretend
No, no
Baby, last night I told you
I can't do this, I can't hold you
I wish I could change
All of this
But I cannot deny
You're not the one
Tread softly, I never could
Keep listening, I thought I did

Just because you have a lesbian oriented dream it does not by any means mean you are gay or even bi-curious. Sexuality is very complex and can seem confusing when it's revealed in our subconcious (dreams). For example you could have a sex dream about someone and still not be attracted to them in real life (I once had a very vivid sex dream about a former boss and trust me there was NO attraction there). I'm sure Stevie represents a lot of things you admire in a woman and I'm sure you find her beautiful so it's not surprising you would experience some kind of sexuality in regards to her. Perhaps a way of getting close to her?
Now if you start fantasizing and taking things a step further you may be leaning towards the bi-curious side lol.

Back on topic though....
I still think Lori and Stevie have been lovers since before Lori changed her name from Perry to Nicks. I do not think Stevie has been with any men for a very long time. Sure she has given the illusion that she has, but I think it is all smoke and mirrors. Someone mentioned on another thread that she was with Johnny Starbuck and Glen Parrish. Not true. Both of those men were admitted platonic friends. Glen was dating a blonde---ummm cant remember her name---the whole time he was friends with Stevie and after the Tango tour he ended up marrying that girl and living happily ever after. Johnny Starbuck was also a platonic friend. As far as the rest of the men....they were poets and yet they were priests of nothing....yet they were violins (whoops, I mean) legends. http://www.websmileys.com/sm/fam/fam12.gif

Stevie has been with men in recent years. Lori has been with men in recent years. (uh, Vegas?) Her marriage may be a sham for something but it certainly isn't to cover up some lesbian affair between herself and La Nicks.
Stevie obviously likes men. She writes about her feelings for men all the time. Her chemistry with men is pretty undeniable. Just because she is more private nowadays, doesn't mean there aren't men around. :D
Stevie addressed the issue anyway..she said she has no problem with it but she likes men too much to ever go down that road. Stevie might have had an encounter or two in her crazy days but a long, hidden love affair with Lori? No way.

There are a lot of lesbians who for whatever reason would never admit to being a lesbian.
I have a friend who would never admit to being a lesbian. She "looks" and "acts" straight. She has men her around who she calls her boyfriends. Long term platonic relationships, that to others look like a serious love affairs. People who have known her her whole life (her family included) would swear she was straight. If anyone was to ever even suggest she is a lesbian it would be impossible to believe. IMPOSSIBLE! For professional and social reasons she could never come out, nor does she want to. She has not "been with" a man in 25 years. Her girlfriend(s) through out the years have been very understanding about the role the men in her life play.
If you looked at the illusion she has created around herself you would never know it wasn't real.
Things are not always what they seem.

I used to interprete that line "I like men too much" differently, but I googled for the exact interview, and you seem to be right.
Details: Rumor number three: In her act, Sandra Bernhard envisions a chiffon scarf fantasy with you. Is the feeling mutual?
Stevie Nicks: Sandra's a comedian--she’s gonna make up stuff like that. But truthfully--no, I'm not bisexual. I like men too much.

Why would it suck? I'm curious why people tend to think that. I mean, it just seems that sex is very private to begin with so who one is having sex with can be just as private. I have never been able to understand why some people feel they MUST tell the world what their sexual orientation is or else they feel they are "hiding from who they really are" and therefore it is somehow tragic.
What is sad is when someone is gay and hides it from themselves. They get married and have children and supress those feelings and urges. It is sad because they are not being truthful with themselves. But to choose not to annouce to the world who they are sleeping with, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Well, I think it would suck because if I'm with someone I love, I don't want to have to constantly worry about people seeing us together, or acting like a couple or whatever. It's not necessarily about the sex part, it's about the love part, y'know? What you said about sex being private, I totally agree, but it just seems too stressful to have to worry about people finding out.
Just my opinion, however. :D
Being in denial about being gay is different than hiding it from others. That would be miserable. Of course, it really isn't for me to say, since I've never had to go through something of this nature.

It would suck for exactly the reason you said - she has created an illusion to the world and completely misrepresents who she really is. There is so much more to a person than just their sexuality but at the same time it is still a large part of who she is. According to your orginal post this girl is not just "having sex" with women - she is involved in romantic relationships and there is a lot more to being in a relationship with someone than just sex. I actually felt bad for the girl when I read what you wrote about her. See you're right - your sex life is a private thing but being in an emotionally involved, romantic relationship with someone is more than just sex. It is the person you are sharing your life with and your best friend and if you are not able to share that with the world I feel bad for you.
Now I completely understand that for professional reasons she may not want to be open about her sexuality (and I'm not saying she she wear I t-shirt that says "I love dykes") but to lead people who are very close to her into believing she is straight is just sad. Yes she is being honest with herself but she is creating an illusion to the rest of the world. You can still be a lesbian and be discreet about it but what she is doing lacks integrity IMO. Then again to each is own so if she's happy and the person she is with is fine with the arrangement more power to her!

Keep in mind, it's not very difficult to change a pronoun when one is writing lyrics or giving an interview.
Chemistry CAN be faked.....and, if you are really good friends with someone, there is still chemistry. Doesn't mean you're jumping into bed with them....
Isn't Stevie's entire "persona" all about illusion and mystery? "I keep my visions to myself."

I agree Wildflower. The whole "Landslide with Linds chemistry" was SO fake. I think the sentimental chemistry was there for the Dance show because that was a turning moment for the band. Everyone loved the "touching moment" so much they decided to stage it night after night after night after night.

I do not think it is misrepresentation. Does everyone wear their life on their sleeve for their friends and family to see? No. Everyone has some part of them that they keep hidden. For some, it is their sexuality.
To quote Mark Twain,
"What a wee little part of a person's life are his acts and words! His real life is led in his head, and is known to none but himself. All day long, and every day, the mill of his brain is grinding, and his thoughts, not those other things, are his history. His acts and his words are merely the visible, thin crust of his world, with it's scattered snow summits and it's vacant wastes of water—and they are so trifling part of his bulk! a mere skin enveloping it. The mass of him is hidden—it and its volcanic fires that toss and boil, and never rest, night or day. These are his life, and they are not written, and cannot be written." —

.....Yes she is being honest with herself but she is creating an illusion to the rest of the world. !
We don't owe "the world" or even the people around us an open invitation into details of our lives -- even famous people have a right to privacy. Tell me you've never lied to your family or best friends or that you haven't kept intimate details or secrets from them.....
Some people don't have a need to "announce" who their partner is. They are comfortable with the knowledge of the love they have between them. That doesn't completely misrepresent who they are -- the feelings and actions are the same, just the "who" or the pronoun is different.
As long as you are true to yourself and to the person(s) with whom you choose to spend your life, that's all that really matters.
BTW, what's wrong with a little illusion? Isn't that what fascinates a lot of Stevie's fans -- her illusions and mystery?

Funny how every time this thread is about to die off, someone chimes in again. Hmmmm...

Hey-- there is nothing wrong with this thread NOT dying off --- I think Stevie's potential lesbianism makes for facinating discussion!!!

hey..i was chatting with a co-worker this morning...telling her that i hit the snooze 7 times this morning to go back to a dream (i do continue them but probably not the same outcome had i slept straight through) and she said she had the freakiest dream...i thought of this thread and blurted "was it a lesbian dream?" she said yes. question...if one dreams in this way do you suppose they are subconsciously curious?
