Jessica,

Did you hear anything about a student who goes to our school being killed in a car accident recently? My grandma lives in town and she told my mom who then told me that apparently a male student who goes to our school was speeding near the mall to try to make it home before curfew one night this summer, and he lost control of his vehicle and wrapped it around a tree. I think he would have been starting his junior year this coming year. I had a lot of sophomores last year so I'm wondering if he was one of mine, :( . I don't subscribe to any papers, and today I got a free copy of The Sun but it didn't have any mention of this in it. Have you heard anything?

I'm so sorry that happened to one of the students at y'all's school. :distress: Of course I think death is always very unfortunate, but I think it's really tragic for someone to lose his life so early on like that.

Sorry, I was at a friends house tonight and I just got home.

Yeah, I know who you're talking about. It's Chris Ahern and he was going to be a Senior. Other people in the car were Jose Rodriguez (sp?) and Alex Mata. I didn't know the other two girls, becuase they didn't go to our school. Chris's name sounds so familiar but I just cannot put a name to a face. All the other people in the car were hurt, but they're out of the hospital now. :( :(

Thanks for the info, Jessica. For some reason I thought he was in the car by himself, but I guess he was just the only fatality. I've heard his name before, but I didn't know him. Very unfortunate. :distress:
