I've found that when I don't have shoes on, I'm walking on my tippy toes or the balls of my feet all the time.

I was a toe-walker as a kid, and every now and then, I catch myself doing it. I gotta say, it really tones the calves.

Me, too, all through childhood. My first grade teacher called me "the tippytoe girl".
I blame my shinsplints, frequent childhood leg aches, and my short inflexible hamstrings on it! I still like to tippytoe skip, though. It feels boingy, tippytoes do.

I see you as Will's short-term boyfriend, Robert, who was a dancer in "Cats" (just replace you for Robert's part in following....):
(Later. WILL and GRACE are in the kitchen cleaning up. ROBERT--no make-up, still wearing pink leg warmers--has one leg kicked up on the fireplace mantle and is leaning in towards the leg.)
GRACE: Wow. He bends over any farther, there'll be chestnuts roastin' on an open fire. What's he doing?
WILL: He's stretching, Grace. What kind of a question is that? What does it look like he's doing?
GRACE: He looks like he's doing something that would render you unnecessary.
[WILL GIVES GRACE A DIRTY LOOK]
GRACE: Oh, relax. I like him.
WILL: Well, good. I like him, too. You like him. I like him. Everybody likes him. [TO ROBERT] Would you please knock off that stretching, Robert. You're freaking Grace out.
ROBERT: Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to make you guys uncomfortable.
GRACE: You didn't. If anything I'm jealous. If I could do that, it would render a date unnecessary.
ROBERT: Oh! Ha ha ha!
WILL: [TO GRACE] How embarrassing for you.
GRACE: So I repeated the joke. When you discovered "Hold me closer, Tony Danza," you rode that till the wheels fell off.
ROBERT: Grace, you look like you'd be a good dancer.
GRACE: Oh. Oh. Heh heh! Oh, no. I am not blessed with the dance.
ROBERT: Oh, come on. What are you talking about? Everybody's a dancer. Every movement we make is a dance. We just have to find it.
[ROBERT DOES A LITTLE DANCE.]
GRACE: Huh.
WILL: Oy.
ROBERT: Now, take a simple action, like clearing the table.
[ROBERT BENDS OVER AND PICKS UP PLATE, KICKING HIS LEG IN THE AIR. HE THEN PRANCES AND TWIRLS INTO THE KITCHEN AND HANDS THE PLATE TO WILL.]
ROBERT: See? You can find the dance in everything, even clearing a dish.

I saw the cutest thing the other day.
I was leaving work, and this little boy was walking by with who I assume was his father. The little boy had a HUGE head of wild, curly RED hair. BIG smile on his face, and waved to me and said, "Hi! Hi!" Hi!" the whole time he passed by me.
Anyway, he wasn't really walking, but bouncing on the tippy toes of his little tennis shoes. While his hair bounced along with him.
He was ADORABLE. :D

I liked the music to the title track, but the lyrics and her thin little voice. Eek. Liked "Hollywood" a little bit, too, but the rest was simply abysmal.

I agree and I think it started with Erotica, which I loved. Sadly, other than playing in a two hour music video a hooker who slept her way to the top (she was not really acting there  ) - she should stay off the silver screen
 She was enjoyable in A League of Their Own, but she was essentially playing herself there too.
I do give her props for her vocal training for Evita. She really worked her ass of for that.

I want to beat the bitches ass whenever I hear the lyrics to "American Life". "I'm drinking a soy latte..." Who gives a flying phuck if you're drinking a soy latte or a ****ing bottle of Kabbalah Kult water!I hate to admit it, but that rap IS pretty fun to... well... rap along with.
"I do Yoga and Pilates and the room is full of hotties, so I'm checkin' out the bodies and you know I'm satisfied!"

I don't want to say that I "soured" on her after 'American Life'... just that I kind of needed a little break from her.
But I love her, and have loved her since "Into The Groove." So it was only a matter of time before I fell off the wagon again.
I can rememeber in high school, we had a copy of her first record and it just sort of sat there unplayed until Borderline hit big

Yes, she did for Evita. And, I liked the softer, almost sweet, version she portrayed. I think she knew she could never do Lupone's brilliant guttersnipe version, so she made it her own.

Ray of Light is one of my fav. songs ever. It is just so happy and up. and, yes, I have been known to dance wildly to it while BELTING out the chorus
BELTING being the key word.
Seriously, you have a fantastic voice!

Madonna: Alternately good and bad, just like our favorite friend. Cept madonna tries to act. Which our friend had the good sense never to do.

LOL - I can put it out there - that's for sure
But, thank you for the compliment. I think I have a recording of me doing Ray of Light somewhere, though it may have been lost awhile back when my other comp. died. If I find it, I'll post it

Especially annoying was that one of our local channels had a weekly music video program (this was before our cable company got MTV), and "Borderline" was the number 1 video for the ENTIRE summer.
I was annoyed because I wanted Cyndi Lauper to win!
By the time "Into The Groove" came out though, I was hooked.

Best movie ever!
Doris: Hey Mae, Mae, your date's here.
Mae: How do I look?
Doris: Where'd you get that dress?
Mae: Borrowed it.
Doris: It don't fit you, Mae, it's too tight.
Mae: I don't plan on wearing it that long.
Doris: Ohh. I don't know why you get dressed at all.
Mae: What if at a key moment in the game my, my uniform bursts open and, uh, oops., my bosoms come flying out? That, that might draw a crowd, right?
Doris: You think there are men in this country who ain't seen your bosoms?
Almost as quotable as Mommie Dearest!

Into the Groove was sooo much fun -- as was Dress You Up, esp. dancing with her while watching the video and doing those up and out forward arm movements

Yeah, it's fun, but that in no way detracts from how insanely bad it is.
I remember one of the reviews I read when it came out said something along the lines of: "On the abysmal title track, Madge attempts to rap like Debbie Harry about nannies and lattes...and fails miserably." I always thought that was a riot. There's just something about Madonna singing "I live the American dream" that makes me want to throttle her.
