I'm sure it's been really confusing for them - they definitely would notice that he's not there, and that you are distressed. :( This might sound silly, but have you checked places like under your own front porch, or in sheds, or anywhere else near your own house? Maybe he's not far away; just not able to get out of where he got himself into? I don't know.. grasping at straws... Good luck...

a neighbor called me 530 this am frm # on flyer :nod:
he saw pepe go under my house with his leg behind him
took me a few to crawl in to get him but i did
took him to emergency vet
xray revealed pelciv fractures
they kicked me out at 8am w/xrays & him in hand
referred or regular vet
got him there
he immed referrred me across BFEgypt
to a vet surgical specialist
he is paralyzed in left leg
2800 to put in plate in complete fracture left leg
with the liklyhood his leg would be cut off
or
2700 to cut off his leg
i thought i weeped before?
complete waterworks
ill affording either
the vet proposed the following
take him home til tuesday
if he gets any feeling back
fracture begins to heal
if he gets around ok
if still not by tuesday
amp for 1000.

what am i listening to?
this will be the day that i die
american pie

he now has meds and is resting
while hooking up the laptop
with the $100 difference
between the two top charges
why cant he plate for a grand?

Oh, sweetie. While I'm so happy to hear he's home, I'm so sorry to hear he's hurt. But know that he must feel 100% better to be with you - and to know you're taking care of him (which I am convinced he does know). Poor little thing. Does the vet think he was hit by a car? Anyway, not important.

I hope he does start to feel better. Your love will be among the best medicine.

hey a update on pepe
and big thank you for keeping him in your thoughts!
bodily functions are all in order
and he has had some movement with his leg
he is moving it in places he didnt before
his paw is still without feeling and movement
but ive decided not to get anything cut
in that he seems to be on the mend, and
if it is functioning a little bit i cant see losing it

pls continue to send good thoughts his way

My....man? :confused: earlier this this thread i thought you mentioned your cat was missing too? well whats broken is part of his pelvis...and they cant cast that...the broke pelvis messed up a nerve that runs down the leg which is why his leg is messed. the vet says the pelvis is amazing! whod have thunk it? he says it heals in all kinds of amazing ways...

let me just say if this vet was speaking to me at any other time about the pelvis i would have jumped his bones...i always get the gorgeous ones! sigh it wouldnt have been appropriate what with the cat there on the table...lol

BTW..I had a dalmatian Buster (sighh my sweet sweet boy)..anyway he was hit by a car when he was like 2..and his front leg was in pretty bad shape.vet thought he would have to amputate it..but he decided to put some plates and screws in it and cast it and see if would heal..with the warning it might not and he still might have to amputate..It was a long recovery but he got to keep his leg and no one could belive he had plates in his leg a few years later when they would see him running like the wind..Soo keep your chin up and we all will hope that Pepe will have a great outcome too..Have Faith..and check with your vet and see if you can make some kind of payment plan if you have to..Hey I gave my vet ,my camera equipment and jewlery to hold until $3000.00 bill was paid..Pepe is beautiful!! Keep us updated on his recovery..Blessings jill

I had the biggest crush on my dentist in my old hometown. He was Belgian, totally beautiful, with an accent to match. Totally charming - and he was a FLIRT!! Oh, my GOD. I wear a toe ring, and one time I was there, and he saw it, and he said to his hygienist, "did you see her toe ring? I find that very sexy." And I was like, "um... lying right here! Can hear every word issuing forth from your perfect mouth!" :laugh:

Found out about six months later he's married with two kids. Doh!! :rolleyes:

funny when i took this pic, shelly my shep (who has kindly
steered a little clear of pep so as not to crush him with loving excitement)

came up and gave a few licks to his leg and posed like this...

while on the laptop i look over to the hall
and who is standing there? PEPEEEEE :]
when we are not cuddling etc he has been kinda
hibernating in another room..getting over the trauma
chillin...and lo and behold here he is!!! he is soooo amazing!
he just now stood on his own on the couch!!!!!!
my babee's getting better!!! thanks guys!!

Yay!!! He's obviously feeling so much better - and I think lots of it has to do with all the love he's getting. Poor thing must have been so scared - and then SO relieved to be back with you. Hope the recovery continues so well!

Hope the recovery continues so well! he has been proving himself to be stronger and stronger every day! he is sooo amazing! i think it has a lot to do with the love he is getting too...from everyone! last night after i posted the latest update, he actually jumped from the couch when i wasnt looking and walked across the room and plopped down where he likes it! it really is a miracle he is walking...and i know he will get better every day...he has shown me that...i am so thankful i waited a bit before making a decision on his leg...else he wouldnt have one....please continue with him in your good thoughts...thanks so much cat! :wavey:

PEPE is doing remarkably well :wavey:
he doesnt hide out anymore...
he is back to using the original litterbox
and eating/drinking in his usual spot
he jumped on the bed yesterday
under the covers like he likes!
he is walking and moving his leg
he walks on curled toes tho and
has a little limp...
i love my little furbaby
he is getting betters everyday

that is great! He seems to be recovering remarkably quickly. It's a good thing that you waited about the vet.
